Las Vegas Raiders TE Brock Bowers (knee) was placed on the Reserve/Injured list Wednesday, Dec. 24.
Footballguys view: Bowers has been bothered by this knee injury for some time, and the Raiders decided to shut him down with nothing left to play for. They've been short on talent over the last two years, but they've got an All-Pro level tight end in Bowers. It would be great if the team got the right quarterback and offensive coordinator to get the most out of his immense talent.
Las Vegas Raiders OG Jordan Meredith (ankle) was placed on the Reserve/Injured list Monday, Dec. 22.

Las Vegas Raiders DT JJ Pegues (hand) and OL Caleb Rogers (quadriceps) left the Week 16 game against the Houston Texans, and both players were unable to return.
Link to storyRaiders RB Ashton Jeanty, the sixth overall pick in the draft, had 24 carries for 128 yards with a touchdown run and added a 60-yard touchdown reception in a 23-21 loss to the Texans.
Footballguys view: According to ESPN.com's Ryan McFadden, this is Jeanty's best performance of the season. Against Houston, the league's best defense, Jeanty once again showed why he still has a high ceiling despite an underwhelming rookie campaign. Jeanty became the first player with a 50-yard rushing touchdown and 50-yard receiving touchdown in the same game since Lamar Miller in 2015. While many fantasy investors will be wondering why we haven't seen more performances like this, nobody will complain that it came in Week 16, and we'll eagerly await a Week 17 game against the Giants.
Las Vegas Raiders TE Brock Bowers posted five receptions for 33 yards and a touchdown on five targets in Week 16 against the Houston Texans.
Link to storyLas Vegas Raiders WR Jack Bech had two receptions for 43 yards in Week 16 against the Houston Texans, including a 37-yard reception, while he was targeted three times.

Confirming a previous report, Las Vegas Raiders QB Geno Smith (shoulder, back) will start Week 16's game versus the Houston Texans, according to head coach Pete Carroll.
Footballguys view: Smith is back in action, so there's a boost for the Raiders' passing attack. However, a matchup against the Texans' swarming defense means Smith should have a long day. Backup quarterbacks like Marcus Mariota, Brady Cook, and Gardner Minshew (who are all starting this week) should be better fantasy plays than Smith.

OL Jordan Meredith (ankle) practiced in full all week and has been listed as questionable. Las Vegas Raiders QB Geno Smith (shoulder, back) practiced in full all week and no longer appears on the injury report for Week 16.
Footballguys view: Smith was dealing with injuries in the games leading up to Week 16. He is listed with shoulder and back issues, but knee and ankle problems also appeared to affect him. A week of rest should benefit the 35-year-old quarterback. He faces a tough matchup this week against the Texans and is ranked as our lowest starting quarterback. The silver lining, if there is one, is that fantasy managers can have more confidence in starting Brock Bowers again.

Las Vegas Raiders QB Geno Smith (hand) could start Week 16, according to head coach Pete Carroll.
Footballguys view: A clearly-not-100-percent Smith against the Texans elite defense is not good. Smith missed last week, and Kenny Pickett couldn't do much of anything against the Eagles. Downgrade all Raiders pass-catchers no matter who is starting. It's a little better with Smith over Pickett, but this matchup is just plain bad for the Raiders.

Las Vegas Raiders WR Jack Bech ended up with two receptions for 17 yards on three targets in Week 15 against the Philadelphia Eagles.
Link to storyLas Vegas Raiders TE Brock Bowers posted six receptions for 28 yards on eight targets in Week 15 against the Philadelphia Eagles.
Footballguys view: Bowers wasn't a complete bust in PPR leagues, but the arrow is pointing down for him and for the Raiders offense heading into a matchup against the meat grinder Texans defense.
Las Vegas Raiders RB Dylan Laube ran twice for four yards in Week 15 against the Philadelphia Eagles, while posting four kick returns for 99 yards.
Link to storyLas Vegas Raiders RB Ashton Jeanty rushed just nine times for 35 yards in Week 15 against the Philadelphia Eagles, while adding four receptions for seven yards on six targets.
Footballguys view: Any hope of Jeanty delivering a surprise game went out the window quickly as the Raiders offense was completely overmatched by the Eagles defense. Any team that survived with Jeanty in the lineup this week will have him on the bench against the Texans next week.
Las Vegas Raiders QB Kenny Pickett completed 15-of-25 passes for 64 yards, no touchdowns and one interception in Week 15 against the Philadelphia Eagles, his former team.
Footballguys view: Pickett had trade value in the eyes of two different teams this year, but that probably won't happen again after this anemic performance. He won't be a coveted free agent in the offseason.
Las Vegas Raiders DE Maxx Crosby posted four total stops, including three of the solo variety, with a sack, a tackle for loss and a quarterback hit in Week 15 against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Las Vegas Raiders QB Geno Smith (back, shoulder) did not practice all week and has been ruled out for Week 15.
Footballguys view: Kenny Pickett will make just his second start since 2023, and his first ever for the Raiders. Facing the Eagles behind one of the league's worst offensive lines could make for a rough outing. There's hope he can keep the offense on schedule and get the ball to the Raiders' playmakers, but expectations for an already-stagnant unit are tempered without Smith.
