Link to storyNew York Jets PK Nick Folk appears likely to win the team's kicking competition versus Harrison Mevis, in the opinion of The Athletic's Zack Rosenblatt.
Footballguys view: This could be a good fantasy kicker spot with the Jets strong defense and limited passing game. Folk is dependable and should be among your targets if you are taking your kicker in the last round. |

Baltimore Ravens PK Tyler Loop may have a slight edge over PK John Hoyland in the team's competition for the starting placekicker job based on draft position, in the opinion of Justin Robertson of BaltimoreRavens.com. Loop was selected in the sixth round of the 2025 NFL Draft, while Hoyland was an undrafted rookie.
Link to storyFree-agent PK Justin Tucker (Ravens) was suspended by the NFL for the first 10 games of the 2025 season for violating the league's personal conduct policy on Thursday, June 26.
Footballguys view: There were 16 massage therapists that accused Tucker of sexual misconduct, and the Ravens let their long-time kicker go back in May. The NFL investigated this situation for months, and they've decided to suspend him for over half the 2025 season. There is a chance some team adds him before training camp where Tucker could get work in the preseason. He will be eligible for reinstatement on Tuesday, November 11th. |

Baltimore Ravens PK John Hoyland has a chance to win the kicking duties over PK Tyler Loop, in the opinion of The Athletic's Jeff Zrebiec, who writes that Loop's struggles in offseason practices 'open[ed] the door' for Hoyland, and that the team 'could have a difficult decision' as to who to keep.
Link to storyNew York Jets PK Anders Carlson was released Wednesday, June 18.
Footballguys view: Carlson, a 2023 sixth-round pick with the Packers, kicked in five games for the Jets and went 8-for-10 on field goals. His release comes after the team signed Harrison Mevis, widely known as the â€"Thiccer Kicker.†Kicking was one of the many problems that plagued the Jets' 2024 campaign, with the club continuously rotating at the position as far into the year as January. A 6-foot, 242-pound kicker out of Missouri -- where he earned his infamous nickname -- Mevis made 20 of 21 attempts during the 2025 UFL season with the Birmingham Stallions. |

Link to storyNew York Giants PK Graham Gano appears to have a slight edge in the competition for against PK Jude McAtamney. Indianapolis Colts PK Spencer Shrader, who was signed shortly before the team released PK Matt Gay, is set to battle undrafted free-agent PK Maddox Trujillo for the kicking duties in the preseason, but the job is Shrader's to lose, in the opinion of The Athletic's James Boyd. Shrader went 5-for-5 while splitting time with the New York Jets and Kansas City Chiefs last season.
Footballguys view: As an undrafted rookie in 2024 who began his NFL career with the Colts before making two other stops last season, Shrader is still an inexperienced player, with only nine career extra point attempts and five career field goal attempts -- all of which he has made. We'll watch for more on this competition. |

Financial terms were not disclosed.
Footballguys view: Kyle Williams is a quick receiver with speed to flip the field on any catch. He'll have a chance to become a favorite target for QB Drake Maye this year. Williams begins his pro career as the no.3 receiver on the depth chart behind Stefon Diggs and DeMario Douglas. |

Link to storyWashington Commanders PK Zane Gonzalez was released Tuesday, April 29.
Footballguys view: Gonzalez joined Washington midway through the 2024 season after not kicking in a regular-season game since 2021. He connected on 5-of-7 field goals and 19-of-19 extra points in the regular season, plus 7-of-8 field goals and 8-of-8 extra points in three postseason games. In 2024, Gonzalez was 31-of-37 on his field goal attempts, with all six of his misses coming from at least 50 yards out. He made all 33 of his extra points. The Commanders signed Matt Gay to fill their place-kicking needs this season. |

Free-agent PK Matt Gay (Colts) agreed to a one-year, $4.25 million fully guaranteed deal with the Washington Commanders Tuesday, April 29. He can earn up to $5 million in incentives.
Footballguys view: Gay, 31, was recently released by the Colts. If the contract figures reported hold up, this will be the most guaranteed money for a kicker on a one-year deal in league history. He played the last two seasons for Indianapolis, connecting on 82.1 percent of his field goals for the club. Gay has made 85.5 percent of his career field goals for the Buccaneers, Rams, and Colts in 90 games. Incumbent kicker Zane Gonalez was released in a corresponding move. |

Link to storyBaltimore Ravens PK Justin Tucker is facing an 'uncertain' future with the Ravens following the selection of PK Tyler Loop in the sixth round of the 2025 NFL Draft. The team is unaware of the timetable for the investigation of Tucker, who has been accused of sexual misconduct, and has publicly stated they will wait for the investigation to conclude before making a decision. Per ESPN's Jamison Hensley, it's still unclear whether Loop will compete with Tucker for the job, or if the 'expectation' is for Loop to be Baltimore's kicker in 2025.
Footballguys view: Known for one of the strongest legs in this draft, Loop has converted six of nine attempts from 50-plus yards, including making a 62-yarder last season. At the NFL scouting combine, Loop hit 13 of 14 field goal attempts (93.3 percent) and finished by making a 60-yarder. Tucker, 35, is a seven-time Pro Bowl kicker, but he is coming off the worst season of his 13-year career. He missed 10 total kicks last season. Nobody should be drafting Tucker without resolution here. |

Footballguys view: "My 17 seasons in the NFL surpassed all of my childhood hopes and dreams," Crosby wrote on social media. He played 16 of those seasons with the Packers, where he became the franchise's all-time leading scorer. His 1,939 points are 11th in NFL history. His records are more than secure. His 1,918 points with the Packers are 864 more than Ryan Longwell's 1,054 in second place. His 395 field goals with the Packers top the franchise mark as well. Longwell's 169 is a distant second. Crosby's last season for the Packers was in 2022. After the season, the team moved in a different direction at kicker. Crosby, 40, wasn't ready to call it quits, however. He finished his career with the New York Giants late in the 2023 season. He didn't play in 2024. |
