Dynasty Football Big Board Week 12

Kevin Coleman's Dynasty Football Big Board Week 12 Kevin Coleman Published 11/22/2023

The appeal of playing dynasty fantasy football is that you never stop building your rosters. There is always time to make moves to help build a contender or rebuild your struggling roster. Now that the 2023 class has come and gone, it's time to start looking ahead to the 2024 class. This season, we will provide fantasy managers with a top-36 big board that will be updated weekly to reflect the top 36 draft-eligible players in college football. The hope is that this big board will give you actual names and value to any draft picks you are trying to trade or acquire. I will also add dynasty content to this article, including players to pivot to or away from, dynasty stashes, dynasty trades, and much more.

Standout Performances

QB Jayden Daniels (Sr - LSU): 6-foot-4, 210 lbs

Daniels has done more for himself this season than any other quarterback prospect in the 2024 class. He has thrown for 3,577 yards and 36 touchdowns while rushing for over 1,000 yards and ten touchdowns. He is presumably in a three-person race with Oregon quarterback Bo Nix and Washington quarterback Michael Penix Jr. for the Heisman trophy. More importantly for fantasy managers, he also has a chance to earn first-round draft capital in the upcoming draft. A notion that would have been unheard of heading into the year. While his draft capital is still a mystery, he is one of the best college football players and has played his way into the QB3 competition.

WR Troy Franklin (Jr - Oregon): 6-foot-3, 187 lbs

Against Arizona State, Franklin caught eight passes for 128 yards and two touchdowns. During the game, he broke two program records. His second touchdown was his 13th of the season, breaking Josh Huff and Jeff Maehl's single-season record of 12. He also broke Dillon Mitchell's record of 1,184 receiving yards in a season. Franklin will be one of the best Duck receivers in the program's history. Through 11 games, Franklin has caught 68 passes for 1,221 yards and 13 touchdowns. He also has an argument that he's currently the best receiver in the nation. He has become a much better route runner this season, and if you believe Oregon's weight measurements, he seems to have put on a ton of weight this season. If he can measure in at his current weight and still test well athletically at the NFL combine, he can be a first-round wide receiver come April.

WR Xavier Legette (Sr - South Carolina) 6-foot-3, 227 lbs

Legette has quietly been one of the more underrated wide receivers this season. Legette was named as a semifinalist for the Biletnikoff Award, which goes out annually to the season's most outstanding FBS receiver at any position. Through 11 games in 2023, Legette has 65 catches for 1,187 yards and seven touchdowns. He will most likely finish with the second-most receiving yards in school history behind Alshon Jeffrey and the sixth receiver in school history to hit the 1,000-yard mark in a season. NFL teams will love his ability to break game-changing plays, and he fits the style of most modern NFL offenses. He has the athleticism to work in the slot but the physical strength to challenge defensive backs vertically. He will be a workout specimen as the off-season progresses and should be a darkhorse riser among scouts come March.

RB Will Shipley (Jr - Clemson) 5-foot-11, 210 lbs

Shipley has had a disappointing season for a player with high expectations heading into 2023. However, he bounced back this week, rushing for a season-high 126 yards and adding a career-high 53 receiving yards in Clemson's win over North Carolina. For his career, he has accumulated 3,200 all-purpose yards for the Tigers, and his value for fantasy is his pass-catching ability. There are still questions on whether he comes out this season, stays in Clemson, or transfers, but he has the skills to play in the NFL. The real question is what his draft capital will be if he declares this season.

2024 Draft Pick Values

With the NFL season starting, dynasty leagues are increasingly active, which means more trades are undoubtedly occurring. The whole point of this big board each week is to help you identify where the talent in the current class is and start identifying target areas and tiers to trade for. It's also important to understand market values and what 2024 picks cost in the dynasty market. Below, you will find players currently being moved for 2024 1sts and 2024 2nds.

Dynasty Pivots

Sell - Joshua Dobbs (KTC Value - QB21) Age: 28.8

Dobbs has been an incredible story the past two seasons, but he has also found himself on three teams in that timeframe. He's solidified himself as a serviceable quarterback, but thats his upside. He's pushing 30 years old, and there are rumblings that if he struggles another week, the Vikings could give the job back to Jaren Hall, who was knocked out of his first career start due to a concussion. However, there are fantasy managers who believe Dobbs has job security, and the possible return of Justin Jefferson as soon as next week does bolster his value. If you can afford to move him, now should be the time you float him on the trade block in your league.

Sell - Baker Mayfield (KTC Value - QB23) Age: 28.6

Similar to Dobbs, it's time to pivot off Baker Mayfield. If you can find a quarterback-needy team to take Mayfield off your roster and you can afford to lose the overall QB17 in fantasy, now is the time to strike. He has been consistent the last five games and has put up four top-12 weeks, which should allow you to regain some value. The problem is his dynasty value is so volatile, and he won't likely be a starter next season.

Sell - Geno Smith (KTC Value - QB24) Age: 33.1

Many analysts were touting Smith as a top-12 quarterback sleeper heading into the 2023 season. That just hasn't panned out. He currently sits at QB21 overall with just two top-12 finishes. The biggest issue for Smith has been his inability to throw touchdown passes consistently. He has yet to throw more than two touchdowns in a game and has six games where he's thrown one or zero. You are not winning your league with Geno Smith as your QB2 in superflex leagues. With his poor play, age, and the Seahawks possibly missing the playoffs, Smith is an asset I would look to unload down the season's stretch.

Sell - Kenny Pickett (KTC Value - QB26) Age: 25.4

Pickett is one of those assets you need to get out of. He has not played well enough to ensure he will get a second contract with the Steelers. The team may also be aggressive in the off-season at the quarterback position in free agency. There is also no guarantee that Pickett can be a journeyman quarterback like Joshua Dobbs or Baker Mayfield. He has only thrown one touchdown in his last five weeks and currently sits as QB33 in fantasy. Find a way to get Pickett off your roster.
