Colts | Tyler Goodson questionable for Sunday Fri Sep 5, 01:15 PM
Indianapolis Colts RB Tyler Goodson (elbow) is questionable for Week 1 against the Miami Dolphins, according to FOX 59's Mike Chappell. He was limited in practice on Wednesday and Thursday.

Carolina Panthers CB Damarri Mathis (knee) suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament during practice this week and will miss the 2025 season.
Link to storyCarolina Panthers LT Ikem Ekwonu (appendix) is doubtful for Week 1 against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Footballguys view: Yosh Nijman and Brady Christensen are the possible replacement for Ekwonu. Head coach Dave Canales did not say who would start in his place. The Panthers have solid depth at tackle and shouldn't be as affected by this as some other teams would be. |
Green Bay Packers WR Jayden Reed (foot) will practice Friday, Sept. 5.
Footballguys view: Reed is on track to play after missing Wednesday's practice, but the report is that he is playing through a Jones fracture in his foot. It's hard to imagine him being as effective as usual, and he's at risk of further foot injuries or other compensation injuries because he's playing on a bum wheel. He is so good when healthy that it's worth holding onto Reed through Week 1 to see how he looks, but if he's ruled out or is ineffective, it might be best to drop him. Reed's status also affects the value of Matthew Golden, Tucker Kraft, Romeo Doubs, and Jordan Love. |

Cleveland Browns DE Myles Garrett (hip) is practicing Friday, Sept. 5.
Footballguys view: Any hope that Joe Burrow and company might avoid Garrett has evaporated. The Browns defense is a tough out, although their offense probably can't exploit the Bengals defensive weakness to keep Burrow on the sidelines with long drives. Still, expect Garrett to be in Burrow's grill all day and potentially affect the outcome of the game and fantasy matchups. |

New York Giants WR Malik Nabers (back) is dealing with back tightness, but he's good to go for Week 1 against the Washington Commanders, according to head coach Brian Daboll.
Footballguys view: For a young player, Nabers has a lot of chronic ailments. Also like a veteran, Nabers is a "gamer" and doesn't need practice to play at a high level. If he has a strong debut against the Commanders, we can probably put any worries about his back and foot problems on the back burner. If he doesn't look like himself, we'll be watching the Week 2 practice reports closely. |
Buffalo Bills CB Tre'Davious White (groin) and PK Tyler Bass (groin) are out of practice Friday, Sept. 5.

Miami Dolphins TE Darren Waller (hip) is doubtful for Week 1, with a hip injury.
Footballguys view: Waller never seemed ready to play at any point this summer after his surprise un-retirement to play for the Dolphins after they traded Jonnu Smith to the Steelers. The Dolphins are going to have Julian Hill, Tanner Conner, and probably Greg Dulcich up from the practice squad at tight end against the Colts. You can drop Waller if you drafted him. |

Las Vegas Raiders WR Justin Shorter was signed from the practice squad to the active roster Friday, Sept. 5.

Philadelphia Eagles OG Landon Dickerson (back) left the game in the fourth quarter Thursday, Sept. 4, and didn't return.
Footballguys view: Dickerson was listed as limited with a back issue going into the game, so consider this an aggravation of an existing injury. He also missed time in camp with a knee injury that was originally feared to be more than minor. Even with extra time to rest before the rematch with the Chiefs, he might not be ready for Week 2. The Eagles have good depth on the offensive line, but Dickerson is one of the best in the business, and they would miss him nonetheless. |
Cincinnati Bengals C Ted Karras received a one-year, $5 million extension Friday, Sept. 5.

Dallas Cowboys WR KaVontae Turpin had two receptions (on two targets) for 18 yards against the Philadelphia Eagles on Thursday, Sept. 4. He also added nine yards on two carries.
Link to storyPhiladelphia Eagles LB Zack Baun finished with nine tackles, including six solo stops and a tackle for loss, in a 24-20 win over the Dallas Cowboys in Week 1.

Dallas Cowboys RB Javonte Williams carried the ball 15 times for 54 yards and a pair of touchdowns in the team's 24-20 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles on Thursday, Sept. 4. Williams was targeted three times as a receiver, catching two for 10 yards.
Footballguys view: Williams ran with a lot of determination and power and led a game plan that probably changed to exploit the Eagles best defensive player - defensive tackle Jalen Carter - getting tossed before the game began because of a spitting incident. The Cowboys offensive line looked great and while Miles Sanders broke a long run, he was also caught from behind and fumbled deep in Eagles territory. Look for Jaydon Blue to get some touches as soon as the team trusts him. He was probably a scratch out of caution more than a statement about where the team is on the fifth round pick after early reports of a questionable work ethic. Williams is a what the heck flex against the Giants next week, but more importantly, he did good enough, especially in short yardage, to stake his claim to this job going forward. He's not the obvious sell high that some will make him out to be, and not many fantasy players are going to pay much more than Williams dirt cheap cost in drafts. |

Philadelphia Eagles WR A.J. Brown had an eight-yard reception on his only target during a 24-20 win over the Dallas Cowboys in Week 1.
Footballguys view: Here's your Thursday night panic stat line. Brown wasn't getting open, although Jalen Hurts wasn't really looking to throw downfield anyway. Brown had hamstring issues last year, and again in camp, so maybe he's not trusting the hamstring fully yet. The Eagles do get three extra days before facing Kansas City, so if Brown doesn't look like his old self in Week 2, it will be time to bench him until he gets right, which is painful for a second round pick. |

Philadelphia Eagles WR DeVonta Smith caught all three of his targets for 16 yards in a 24-20 win over the Dallas Cowboys in Week 1.
Footballguys view: The Eagles just didn't throw downfield in this game, so it was quiet for their wide receivers. That is a bit alarming since the Cowboys just traded away one of the best pass rushers in the game. It appears new offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo is going to just stay the course on the very run heavy approach the team had last year. |

Philadelphia Eagles TE Dallas Goedert was targeted a team-high seven times, catching all seven and finishing with 44 yards in a 24-20 win over the Dallas Cowboys in Week 1.
Footballguys view: Goedert didn't break any big plays, but it's still a great sign that he got so many targets in a game where the Eagles didn't go pass heavy. He's a consideration for Week 2 lineups in a Super Bowl rematch against the Chiefs. |

Philadelphia Eagles WR Jahan Dotson caught all three of his targets for a team-high 59 yards in a 24-20 win over the Dallas Cowboys in Week 1.
Link to storyPhiladelphia Eagles RB Will Shipley rushed three times for 26 yards in a 24-20 win over the Dallas Cowboys in Week 1.
Footballguys view: Shipley looked impressive and got more touches than expected early, and then left with a rib injury. He has 10 days to get right for the matchup with the Chiefs. If Shipley is going to miss time, he might be a drop in short bench leagues, but there's clearly some value there when he's healthy again. A.J. Dillon will back up Saquon Barkley if Shipley can't go next week. |
Dallas Cowboys QB Dak Prescott completed 21 of his 34 passes for 188 yards with no touchdowns or interceptions in a Week 1 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. Prescott also ran once for three yards.

Dallas Cowboys QB Dak Prescott completed 21 of his 34 pass attempts for 188 yards in a 24-20 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 1. He added three rushing yards on his lone carry.
Footballguys view: Prescott played much better than his stat line indicates. He was let down by some drops, and both of the team's touchdowns came on the ground. If CeeDee Lamb was more consistent, this could have been a much better fantasy game for Prescott. He'll get the Giants next week, which could prove to be a tough matchup if we see their pass rush neutralize Jayden Daniels on Sunday. |

Arizona Cardinals TE Trey McBride will pick up where he left off last season, according to offensive coordinator Drew Petzing. 'When you have a guy that can do things like that, you have to give them that opportunity early and often,' Petzing said.
Link to storyGreen Bay Packers RB Josh Jacobs said he feels that he left a lot of yards on the field last season. 'I had some plays where I felt like I kinda gave up on the play because I thought the play was over, and it really wasn't,' Jacobs said.

The 49ers are listing RB Christian McCaffrey as limited at today's practice due to a calf issue.
Footballguys view: McCaffrey, who practiced fully on Wednesday, is a newcomer to this week's injury report. According to Bay Area News Group beat writer Cam Inman, McCaffrey initially warmed up as usual. Of course, we thought a year ago McCaffrey was fine for Week 1, then missed two months with Achilles tendinitis and wound up appearing in just four games. We'll obviously be watching this one closely over the next 24 hours -- and perhaps beyond. The 49ers play the Seahawks Sunday in a late-afternoon kickoff. The newly-acquired Brian Robinson Jr. is the next man up at the position. |

Denver Broncos WR Marvin Mims (thigh) fully participated in practice Thursday, Sept. 4.
Footballguys view: Mims is good to go for Week 1 against the Titans. We think the no.2 receiver for the Broncos will split between Mims and Troy Franklin this year. |

Tampa Bay Buccaneers TE Cade Otton (groin) fully participated in practice Thursday, Sept. 4.
Footballguys view: This is a positive note for the Buccaneers. Otton has been battling this groin injury, but a full participation on Thursday is a great sign for his availability. We see Otton as a TE2 with upside this season. |
