Bengals | Practice window opened for Mike Gesicki Wed Nov 19, 01:56 PM
Cincinnati Bengals TE Mike Gesicki (pectoral) had his practice window opened up on Wednesday, Nov. 19, and the team has 21 days to activate him from injured reserve.
Footballguys view: We might actually see Gesicki back on the field in Week 12. That would take away some of the target share from Noah Fant.

Atlanta Falcons QB Michael Penix Jr. (knee) underwent surgery on Wednesday, Nov. 19, the team announced. Kirk Cousins will take over the role of starting quarterback for the team.
Footballguys view: This is a gut punch for the Falcons' offense. Cousins is no longer the player he used to be, and the passing game is likely to look uneven with him at the helm. Downgrade all Falcons receivers, and even be mindful of how defenses are going to stack the line to stop Bijan Robinson.
Buffalo Bills WR Khalil Shakir (personal) did not practice on Wednesday, Nov. 19, and no longer appears on the injury report.
Footballguys view: Shakir has not practiced this week due to personal reasons. However, the Bills are likely to be with him on Thursday night against the Texans. Fantasy GMs should look at Shakir as a WR3/deep flex play. If you do start Shakir, just double check before the game to make sure he's indeed going to play.
Buffalo Bills WR Joshua Palmer (knee, ankle) practiced in full on Friday, Nov. 19, and no longer appears on the injury report.

Buffalo Bills TE Dalton Kincaid (ankle) has been ruled out for Week 12 against the Houston Texans.
Footballguys view: Kincaid has to miss another game, and on a short week it's no surprise he's out. That means Dawson Knox and Jackson Hawes will be asked to do more. Neither are top fantasy options at the tight end position.

Buffalo Bills WR Mecole Hardman Jr. (calf), TE Dalton Kincaid (ankle), and WR Curtis Samuel (elbow, neck) did not practice all week and have been ruled out for Week 12 against the Houston Texans. DL Phidarian Mathis (shoulder) was limited in practice on Wednesday, Nov. 19, and is listed as questionable. WR Khalil Shakir (personal) did not practice on Wednesday and no longer appears on the injury report. CB Christian Benford (groin), LB Terrel Bernard (ankle), DE Joey Bosa (wrist), CB Taron Johnson (groin), DL DaQuan Jones (rest), C Connor McGorvern (ankle), WR Joshua Palmer (knee, ankle), DL Jordan Phillips (wrist), S Jordan Poyer (rest), LB Shaq Thompson (hamstring), and LB Dorian Williams (groin) practiced in full on Friday and no longer appear on the injury report.

New York Giants QB Jaxson Dart (concussion) will participate in a non-contact practice Wednesday, Nov. 19, and is trending toward returning for Week 12.
Footballguys view: Dart should be out there against the Lions on Sunday. Coming back from a concussion, Dart might be tasked with running less - something that impacts his fantasy value. They may try to proceed with caution, but Dart's legs are going to be a part of what he does. That makes him a low-end QB1 from a fantasy perspective.
Indianapolis Colts CB Charvarius Ward (concussion) and LB Jaylon Carlies (ankle) opened their 21-day practice windows Wednesday, Nov. 19.

Arizona Cardinals WR Marvin Harrison Jr. (appendix) was ruled out for Week 12.
Footballguys view: Not only is Harrison out in Week 12, but there's a chance he has to miss more time due to his appendix. Without Harrison, QB Jacoby Brissett is going to lean on Michael Wilson. With Wilson coming off a 15-catch, 185-yard performance in Week 11, he's getting inserted into a lot of starting lineups as a WR2.
Arizona Cardinals RB Emari Demercado (ankle) has been ruled out for Week 12.
Footballguys view: Bam Knight, Michael Carter, and maybe Trey Benson (who had his 21-day window opened on Wednesday) are the options for the Cardinals in Week 12. Right now, without knowing Benson's status, we like Knight as an RB2/flex option and Carter as a RB3/deep flex option for Fantasy GMs out there.
Arizona Cardinals RB Michael Carter split the backfield snaps with RB Bam Knight in Week 11 against the San Francisco 49ers. Carter had 33 snaps, or 42 percent of the 79 offensive plays, while Knight had 32 snaps, or 41 percent.
Footballguys view: With Emari Demercado out in Week 12 due to a high-ankle sprain, the Cardinals are looking to Carter and Knight to do more. They also may be getting Trey Benson back this week, although we have to see his participation level in practice. Benson's 21-day return window was opened on Wednesday.

Atlanta Falcons QB Kirk Cousins takes the reins of the offense, with QB Michael Penix Jr. (knee) going on the Reserve/Injured list. Cousins will face the New Orleans Saints in Week 12 against the New Orleans Saints, who have allowed teams to complete 65.9 percent of passes with a 84.6 QB rating with 99 first downs allowed, 20 pass plays of 20 or more yards and 5+ plays of 40 or more yards through the air.
Footballguys view: Falcons HC Raheem Morris said "it's fair to say [the offense will] look different" with Cousins as the starter. Cousins is terribly inaccurate this year in limited snaps (and one start) this season. It's a downgrade for the Falcons' passing game, and defenses should stack the line to stuff Bijan Robinson going forward.

Free-agent WR Odell Beckham Jr. was officially reinstated by NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell on Tuesday, Nov. 18. The three-time Pro Bowl receiver remains a free agent.
Footballguys view: Beckham was suspended for six games for violating the NFL's policy on performance-enhancing drugs. The veteran receiver is now free to sign with any team in the NFL. There are rumors that teams like the Chiefs or Broncos could be interested, but nothing seems to be imminent.

Arizona Cardinals RB Trey Benson (knee) had his 21-day practice window opened Wednesday, Nov. 19.
Footballguys view: Benson has been out of action for over a month as he recovers from this knee injury. There's a chance he could be active for Week 12, and in that instance he would be splitting time with Bam Knight and Michael Carter. Let's see what he can do this week during practice.
Cleveland Browns QB Shedeur Sanders will start in Week 12 against the Las Vegas Raiders in place of QB Dillon Gabriel (concussion).
Footballguys view: Gabriel has to work through the concussion protocol, and there's no telling how long he will be out. Sanders did not look good in relief of Dillon last week, but he also was working with the starting offense for the first time in his young career. A fifth-round pick with the upside to be a starter in this league, Sanders is likely headed for a rough start against the Raiders. Fantasy GMs streaming defenses are running to the wire to add the Las Vegas defense.
Cincinnati Bengals WR Ja'Marr Chase has his one-game suspension upheld by a jointly appointed NFL and NFLPA hearing officer on Tuesday, Nov. 18. He will miss the Week 12 game against the New England Patriots as a result.
Footballguys view: The appeal was handled by hearing officer Jordy Nelson. It's the first time the NFL has suspended a player for spitting. If there's good news, it's that we have resolution on this and can make other plans. The Bengals can also make plans that will likely start with leaning more heavily on WR Tee Higgins. Andrei Iosivas, tight end Noah Fant, and running back Chase Brown also stand to get more work with Chase out.

The Tennessee Titans are officially putting an end to star wide receiver Calvin Ridley's season by placing him on injured reserve.
Footballguys view: According to Jim Wyatt of the team's official website, the Titans are filling Ridley's spot on the roster with veteran wideout James Proche II. In addition, the team is adding wide receivers Lance McCutcheon and Kristian Wilkerson to the practice squad. Ridley caught 17 passes for 301 yards this season. He signed a four-year, $92 million contract with the Titans in March 2024. Tennessee could save $13.7 million against the cap if they release Ridley after the season.

The Commanders officially added kicker Jake Moody to their 53-man roster on Tuesday, and they announced another roster move as well. They have waived wide receiver Jacoby Jones. Jones was signed to the roster last week.
Footballguys view: Moody replaces Matt Gay, who was released on Monday after missing a pair of field goals in the Dolphins' loss. He was signed off the Bears' practice squad and appeared in two games for Chicago earlier this season.

Detroit Lions LB Malcolm Rodriguez (knee) was activated off the physically unable to perform list on Tuesday, Nov. 18.
Link to storyBuffalo Bills WR Joshua Palmer (knee, ankle) was limited in practice on Tuesday, Nov. 18.
Footballguys view: Palmer has been limited in both of the Bills' first two practices ahead of Thursday's game against the Texans. Without reporting indicating a setback after playing 28 snaps in Sunday's 44-32 win over the Buccaneers, we suspect his limited work is just maintenance on a short week. The official injury report for Thursday night's game will be released on Wednesday.

Head coach DeMeco Ryans told reporters at a Tuesday afternoon press conference that QB C.J. Stroud has been ruled out of Thursday's game against the Bills. That was an expected development given the short window for him to clear the concussion protocol before his team faces the Bills.
Footballguys view: Davis Mills will start for the third straight week. The Texans beat the Jaguars and Titans in his first two starts. If all goes well with Stroud, he should make the start in Week 13 against the Colts. Ryans also said that safety Jalen Pitre has been ruled out. Pitre is also in the concussion protocol and will miss his third straight contest.

Carolina Panthers WR Xavier Legette (hip) expects to play in Week 12 against the San Francisco 49ers.
Footballguys view: As CBSSports.com reminded readers, before injuring his hip late in the fourth quarter of Sunday's overtime win over the Falcons, Legette delivered one of his best performances of the season, with four catches for 83 yards and a touchdown on eight targets. Though Legette acknowledged Tuesday that he's still banged up two days after the game, the longer turnaround with a Monday night game against the 49ers will work in his favor. The Panthers resume practicing Thursday.
Buffalo Bills TE Dalton Kincaid (hamstring) will not practice on Tuesday, Nov. 18, according to head coach Sean McDermott
Footballguys view: With a Thursday night game against the Texans, Kincaid needs to get in some work on Wednesday to have a shot at playing. Will he? The Bills' offense got by just fine without its star tight end in Week 11, as Buffalo dropped 44 points and 414 yards of total offense on the Bucs. However, we know full well that the Bills need Kincaid to be healthy, as he's arguably their best pass-catcher, along with wide receiver Khalil Shakir. At this point, it seems unlikely Kincaid will be forced into the fray.

Mike Tomlin says Jaylen Warren's ankle injury will limit him in early portions of practice this week, but he's "optimistic" about his availability for Sunday.
Footballguys view: Warren said the same after the game, characterizing it as a "tweak" and suggesting he could have returned if the outcome was in question. We'll be watching Warren closely in coming days, but if Warren can't go on Sunday, Kenneth Gainwell would get the start, and rookie Kaleb Johnson would be his backup.
Houston Texans QB C.J. Stroud (concussion) is expected to practice in limited fashion Tuesday, Nov. 18, but it's unlikely he plays in Week 12.
Footballguys view: According to multiple reporters, Stroud was indeed on the field Tuesday. While that's a step forward in the concussion protocol, with the Texans hosting the Bills on Thursday night, Stroud is still unlikely to play in Week 12. That puts Davis Mills in line to start another game, though Stroud may be able to return for Houston's Week 13 divisional matchup against Indianapolis. Stroud has not played since suffering his concussion in the Week 9 loss to the Broncos. Mills has beaten the Jaguars and Titans to help get the Texans to 5-5 on the season.

Pittsburgh Steelers QB Aaron Rodgers (wrist) won't require surgery on his left wrist, and he's pushing to play in Week 12.
Footballguys view: Rodgers will not practice Wednesday. Head coach Mike Tomin told reporters that Friday will be a key day in determining Rodgers' status for Sunday's game against the Bears in Chicago. "Really, it's just about bracing and securing it for his comfort and safety. And then, it's about how functional he is," Tomlin said. "We'll see where the week leads us and we'll take it day by day," Tomlin said. Mason Rudolph took over at quarterback with Rodgers sidelined and would start against the Bears if the Steelers determine Rodgers is unable to play.

New York Giants DE Abdul Carter was benched for the opening series in Week 11 and denied a report that he slept through a walk-through practice last week and said he was getting treatment at the time of the walk-through.
Link to storyArizona Cardinals RB Emari Demercado (ankle) suffered a high-ankle sprain and is likely out for Week 12.
Footballguys view: If Trey Benson (knee) isn't activated from injured reserve this week, Bam Knight and Michael Carter would be in line to share backfield duties against the Jaguars. We'll be watching for news on Benson's status very closely in coming days.

Updating a previous report, Cincinnati Bengals WR Ja'Marr Chase is planning to appeal his one-game suspension.
Footballguys view: Jonathan Jones of CBS Sports reports that former Packers receiver Jordy Nelson, a jointly appointed NFL-NFLPA appeals officer, will hear Chase's case. As it stands, Chase will miss Sunday's game against the Patriots. Chase would become the first player ever suspended for spitting. Eagles defensive lineman Jalen Carter was ejected before the first play from scrimmage in the season opener for spitting on Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott. The NFL fined him a game check, and he did not appeal. Chase declined to talk to reporters on Monday. We'll likely get a ruling in short order, perhaps at some point today.

Indianapolis Colts QB Anthony Richardson (eye) still does not have a definite timetable for his return, according to head coach Shane Steichen.
Footballguys view: Richardson is sidelined with an orbital fracture. Steichen did say that if/when Richardson returns, he will resume his role as the Colts' backup quarterback behind Daniel Jones. Rookie Riley Leonard has held that job with Richardson out.

Green Bay Packers PK Brandon McManus (quadriceps) is not a candidate for the Reserve/Injured list, according to head coach Matt LaFleur.
Footballguys view: McManus, who was added to the injury report as doubtful on Saturday, was ruled out of the Giants game on Sunday. The Packers went with backup Lucas Havrisik, who missed two extra-point tries on a windy day. Although McManus has not been 100%, LaFleur said, this isn't an injured-reserve situation. "I think it's one of those things you've got to take in stride and handle it on a day-to-day basis," LaFleur said. Of course, there are plenty of kickers available. Fantasy investors can easily avoid uncertainty by looking elsewhere.

Dallas Cowboys QB Dak Prescott completed 25 of his 33 passing attempts for 268 yards, four touchdowns, and no interceptions versus the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 11.
Footballguys view: Prescott was precise -- minus a miss of a wide-open CeeDee Lamb for an easy touchdown. His four TD passes tied a season high, matching his total from Oct. 5 against the New York Jets. He threw primarily to George Pickens and Lamb. Pickens (nine catches, 144 yards, one touchdown) and Lamb (five receptions for 66 yards and a TD) produced big numbers despite head coach Brian Schottenheimer benching them for the Cowboys' first drive. The big showing led to 26.3 fantasy points and a QB3 finish on the week. The Cowboys play the Eagles in Week 12.
