Titans | Mitch Trubisky ready to serve as mentor Sun Jun 14, 06:45 PM
Tennessee Titans QB Mitchell Trubisky is excited about his new organization, and he is looking forward to helping any way he can, either as a competitor or a mentor. He is being coached by offensive coordinator Brian Daboll and quarterbacks coach Shea Tierney, two guys he worked with in Buffalo. 'Super pumped (to be here),' Trubisky said. 'I had so much fun with (Daboll and Tierney) back in Buffalo a few years ago. When I had an opportunity to come back with them, it was pretty much a no-brainer. Coming here, working with (QB Cam Ward), working with Dabes and Shea, it has been a lot of fun so far, getting back in the offense. It's a great scheme.'

Baltimore Ravens S Kyle Hamilton was praised by his new head coach Jesse Minter for his unique athletic ability, intelligence and skillset. 'Kyle [Hamilton] is incredible. He's a one-of-one player in this league,' Minter said. 'You could put him in one spot, and he could be the best in the league; put him in another spot, and he could be the best in the league.'
Link to storyTampa Bay Buccaneers QB Baker Mayfield has been 'all business' amid contract extension talks, according to head coach Todd Bowles, and Bowles said there is 'absolutely no question' that he wants Mayfield to stay with the Buccaneers long term.
Footballguys view: This is a story worth monitoring because Mayfield has been good as a Buc, but $50+ million a year good? Mayfield is 31 and if his play is declining (he had a rough second half of the season, but the whole offense did, including with his and other key players suffering injuries), then committing to him long term would be a mistake. The Bucs don't have a quarterback they have bene developing on the roster, but they did sign UDFA Jalon Daniels, who is a favorite of NFL Films legend Greg Cosell.

Seattle Seahawks RB Emanuel Wilson has been the third running back in the pecking order at OTAs and minicamp.
Footballguys view: In other words, it would take first round Jadarian Price being not ready for prime time for Wilson to matter in fantasy leagues at the beginning of the season. Third down back George Holani has been running as the "1A" and is worth a late round pick across formats. Wilson is a waiver wire watch list player for now, and once Zach Charbonnet is healthy (which could be sooner than later), Wilson will fall off of the fantasy radar.
Washington Commanders TE Chig Okonkwo will be an exciting part of the offense, according to QB Jayden Daniels. 'Now he gets to go out there and show his talents on a bigger stage and a bigger role in the offense,' Daniels said.
Footballguys view: Okonkwo could become the #2 target in the offense by default because the Commanders don't have any proven wide receivers after #1 Terry McLaurin. Okonkwo is a handful after the catch and can help Jayden Daniels if he gets open in the short and intermediate zones with regularity. Okonkwo is one of the best tight ends to target in the late rounds.
Washington Commanders WR Terry McLaurin said he will move around the formation more this season. 'I can go left, right, I can go vertical because I can still run by you,' McLaurin said. 'I can stop or I could go in. Just having those type of variations in your route tree is just an unbelievable weapon to have as a receiver.'
Footballguys view: We are looking for players to get the kind of usage that Jaxon Smith-Njigba got last year - a variety of routes from a variety of spots in the offense. McLaurin qualifies as the kind of talent who can pull that off, and the Commanders don't have any other wide receivers that strike fear in the hearts of opposing defensive coordinators. McLaurin has more than enough upside to justify a pick at his fourth round ADP.

Pittsburgh Steelers RB Eli Heidenreich has impressed head coach Mike McCarthy. 'He's very instinctive, has an excellent skill set,' McCarthy said. 'He's picked up the offense. His position flexibility has been fun. He's had a tremendous start.'
Footballguys view: Heidenreich compares favorably to Christian McCaffrey if you only look at their game as receivers out of the backfield. He could help on special teams and give the team another slot receiver and third down back option if he makes the team.
New York Giants WR Odell Beckham Jr. 'perhaps made the biggest impact at minicamp' with WR Malik Nabers (knee) and WR Darius Slayton (abdomen) sidelined, according to Jordan Raanan of ESPN.com.
Footballguys view: This is probably more of a sign that Darnell Mooney and third round pick Malachi Fields aren't impressing than one of Beckham putting together an unlikely comeback story this year. The Giants passing game is going to be a work in progress, but that could be good for free agent signing Isaiah Likely, who might lead the team in targets early on despite playing tight end.

Arizona Cardinals RB James Conner (ankle, foot) should be available for the start of training camp, according to head coach Mike LaFleur.
Footballguys view: Conner is cheap at only a little over $2 million, but most of it is guaranteed. Once he is healthy enough to practice, he could be a candidate to be traded to a team that suffers an injury at running back in camp or the preseason, or otherwise isn't pleased with what they see. Washington and Seattle are both possibilities.

Baltimore Ravens OGs Jovaughn Gwyn and Danny Pinter are battling for the starting center job heading into the summer, according to head coach Jesse Minter. The coach added that OT Corey Bullock (undisclosed) will also factor into the race once he is healthy. 'I would say it's a pretty balanced competition right now,' Minter said.
Link to storyNew York Giants WR Malachi Fields could see a big role in the offense sooner rather than later. The receivers' room is a bit thin, and there is no certainty WR Malik Nabers (knee) will be able to return to start the regular season.
Link to storyCarolina Panthers WR Xavier Legette is looking to rebound in 2026 after a down season in his sophomore NFL campaign. A lot had to do with teammate WR Tetairoa McMillan having a giant season, winning Offensive Rookie of the Year honors. 'My main thing is just to have a better year than my first two years,' Legette said. 'I can't -- I can't -- have another year like I did last year. I can't do that.'
Link to storyBaltimore Ravens PK Tyler Loop struggled down the stretch in 2025, but the team and new head coach Jesse Minter aren't dwelling on the past. He noted the team intentionally creates pressure situations during practice to test the kicker. 'We want to create opportunities for him to have these moments in front of people, in front of the team,' Minter said.
Link to storyHouston Texans WR Tank Dell (knee) is nearly back from a lengthy and arduous rehab process since going down with a serious knee injury in 2024. He missed the entire 2025 season as a result of the injury. 'It's been a roller coaster ride, to say the least,' Dell said Saturday, June 13. 'It's been a long journey, but I'm built for it, and I'm ready for it, and I was ready for it. I'm getting through it, and it's light at the end of the tunnel, so I'm almost there.'
Footballguys view: It's not clear how much of his quickness and speed Dell will recover, or how large his role will be. The Texans don't need him to play a big role with 2025 draft picks (and Iowa State teammates) Jaylin Noel and Jayden Higgins both garnering rave reviews in minicamp and OTAs. Dell should be added in deep dynasty leagues, and the better his recovery goes, the better the chance CJ Stroud and the Texans pass offense improves this year.

San Francisco 49ers FB Kyle Juszczyk said he is feeling good heading into the 2026 season, and he has no intention of putting a timeline on his career. 'I feel so good, and I'm still having so much fun,' Juszczyk said. 'I'm in zero pain whatsoever, and I feel like I'm still playing at such a high level. So, I want to continue to do this thing as long as I possibly can. I haven't put a number on when I want to end, but as it stands right now, I'm just going to keep going until the wheels fall off.'

Washington Commanders QB Jayden Daniels will work in a heavy play-action system under new offensive coordinator David Blough, which will, at times, feature bootlegs. The bootlegs will enable Daniels to get more in the open field. 'He's one of the smartest players I've ever coached,' QBs coach D.J. Williams said Saturday, June 13. 'It's his football knowledge, just his natural instincts, but also how quick he can process. Obviously from the outside looking in, you see the speed, you see the arm, you see the playmaking ability, but ... from the neck up, man, that's like he is second to none.'
Footballguys view: Daniels could get some runs by design on rollouts, but the main benefit will be moving the pocket or otherwise not letting pass rushers tee off on Daniels after he suffered multiple injuries last year. He has a limited ceiling as one of the top five quarterbacks off of the board.
Former NFL DL Aldon Smith, who played six seasons with the San Francisco 49ers, Oakland Raiders and Dallas Cowboys, passed away over the weekend at the age of 36. 'We are devastated by the sudden and tragic passing of (Smith),' the 49ers said in a statement. 'Aldon's undeniable talent and sheer dominance on the field were on display from the moment he joined our organization, having recorded one of the best rookie seasons the National Football League has seen.'

New York Jets RB Braelon Allen (knee) said Saturday, June 13, that he is back to 100 percent after tearing the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee. Head coach Aaron Glenn said he wants to employ a 'three-headed monster' in the backfield, and that was the plan last season before Allen's injury. RBs Breece Hall, the starter, and Isaiah Davis are the other backs in the equation. Allen also added that he hopes kick returns, which is how he hurt his knee, are going to be a thing of the past.
Footballguys view: Allen is worth a late round pick because of his injury upside if Breece Hall gets hurt, but he isn't going to have consistent standalone value the year after an ACL year in a bottom half of the league offense.
New York Jets RB Breece Hall is expected to have plenty of company in the backfield, as head coach Aaron Glenn said Saturday, June 13, that he is planning to use Hall, RBs Braelon Allen and Isaiah Davis as a 'three-headed monster' in the backfield. He said that was the plan last season until Allen suffered an injury. However, after signing Hall to a three-year, $43.5 million, it's still likely Hall will see his fair share of touches.
Footballguys view: This is what we heard last year before the season, and Hall's fantasy output was inconsistent and frustrating for folks that expected a strong RB2, or even RB1, and instead got a boom/bust RB2/Flex even though promising backup Braelon Allen went down early in the season. Allen is healthy again, but Hall's ADP is still in the third round, so the Jets offense needs to improve a lot for Hall to deliver.
New York Giants CB Deonte Banks, drafted in 2023, is battling CBs Greg Newsome II and Colton Hood for the starting right cornerback spot. Banks sunk so low last season, that he was reduced to simply being a kickoff returner, so he is looking to bounce back in a big way.

New York Giants C John Michael Schmitz has been the starting center since he was drafted in the second round of the 2023 NFL Draft. While he has shown improvement, he isn't considered among the league's best centers. He is more of a traditional zone blocker with good strength, but it remains to be seen if that's the kind of center that new head coach John Harbaugh wants on a long-term basis.
Link to storyNew York Giants LB Kayvon Thibodeaux is entering the final year of his rookie contract after having his fifth-year option picked up. However, he is fighting LB Abdul Carter for snaps. Thibodeaux has been limited to 22 games over the past two seasons due to injuries, totaling just 8.0 sacks, 53 tackles and 13 tackles for loss.
Link to storyNew England Patriots DL Gabe Jacas (knee) remains the team's only unsigned 2026 draft pick and the only second-round pick currently not under contract. According to ESPN.com's Mike Reiss, injury concerns could be holding up a possible deal. Jacas has been recovering from a 'clean-up' knee procedure which caused him to miss rookie minicamp in May, as well as the Patriots' mandatory minicamp last week. However, the procedure should not threaten his availability for the regular season and there is optimism that Jacas could be ready for training camp, according to a source.
Link to storyCarolina Panthers OT Monroe Freeling has been practicing at both tackle positions after playing on both sides at the University of Georgia, according to Kassidy Hill of Panthers.com. Although he has more experience at left tackle, Freeling saw time at right tackle during OTAs whenever OT Taylor Moton needed a break.
Link to storyWashington Commanders PKs Jake Moody and Drew Stevens are considered to be on an 'even playing field' and will both get opportunities to win the team's placekicking job, according to special teams coordinator Larry Izzo, who added that performance on kickoffs will factor into the club's final decision.

Minnesota Vikings WR Terrill Davis (undisclosed) and WR Marcus Sanders (undisclosed) did not participate in practice Thursday, June 11.
Link to storyCarolina Panthers LB Thomas Incoom (undisclosed) underwent a procedure this offseason but should be ready for training camp, according to head coach Dave Canales.
Link to storyArizona Cardinals RB Trey Benson (knee) is expected to be ready for training camp, according to head coach Mike LaFleur.
Link to storySeattle Seahawks DT Deven Eastern (undisclosed) did not participate in the mandatory minicamp but is expected to be available for training camp.
Link to storyWe should buy into Denver Broncos TE Evan Engram's performance over the last two weeks of OTAs, according to Troy Renck of the Denver Post.
Footballguys view: Engram has been a star over the last two days of open practice to the media, and it has many believing he's in for a bounce-back season. There's no question Engram disappointed last year, but new play-calling OC Davis Webb should have a plan for him to be more productive this year. Now, Bo Nix has yet to fully participate in practice (and might not be fully participating until training camp) as he recovers from offseason ankle surgeries. We like this drumbeat, but we will feel more excited when Nix is out there with Engram. He's a fantasy TE2 with TE1 upside.
Chiefs coaches are "starting to experiment" with what works best with RB Kenneth Walker's skills, according to ESPN's Nate Taylor.
Footballguys view: It only makes sense to work with the veteran back to see what plays/formations/concepts he likes best. Expect under-center handoffs to be featured as well as working from out of the shotgun. Walker has been working diligently to improve his pass-protection ability, and he'll need to when tasked with protecting Patrick Mahomes. With improved receiving skills as well, Walker is doing what he can to be featured as much as possible. He's a middle-of-the-pack RB2 with RB1 upside for Fantasy GMs in 2026.
Tennessee Titans RB Tony Pollard and RB Tyjae Spears' futures with the team, beyond 2026, are "uncertain" per John Glennon of the Nashville Post.
Footballguys view: The Titans have years before they're a competitive team, and both Pollard and Spears are in contract years in 2026. Pollard is more productive but older, and Spears has plenty of skill but gets banged up too often. We like Pollard as a low-end RB2 and Spears as an RB5/deep flex for Fantasy GMs. Plus, we are monitoring rookie Nicholas Singleton in dynasty formats as he could be the back who takes over in 2027.
Updating a previous report, Buffalo Bills CB Dorian Strong (neck) was moved to the Reserve/Non-Football Injury list Friday, June 12, after clearing waivers.
Link to storyCleveland Browns HC Todd Monken is likely to design touches for "speedy" first-round rookie WR KC Concepcion, according to Zac Jackson from The Athletic.
Footballguys view: Monken is 'hunting mismatches' with Concepcion, and there are clues as to Concepcion's usage in OTAs. With that speed, Concepcion makes for an attractive target - but not just on deep throws. We could see plenty of shorter passes that Concepcion could turn into long gains. Concepcion's route-running ability is also a hallmark of his game. We see the rookie as a WR5 with upside for Fantasy GMs this year.
Tennessee Titans QB Cam Ward was "really inaccurate" at organized team activities this week, according to Paul Kuharsky's Braden Gall.
Footballguys view: The Titans are installing a new offense for Ward, and it's going to take time for him to look better. New Titans HC Robert Saleh is a fan of Ward, but we need to see how he looks in training camp and the preseason to see if these reported accuracy problems continue.
Jacksonville Jaguars WR Parker Washington "is set to be a core piece of what the Jaguars do in the passing game" according to Sports Illustrated's John Shipley.
Footballguys view: Jaguars HC Liam Coen is ready to unleash an even better passing game in 2026, and Washington's ability to move around the formation is a part of that. Fantasy GMs need to keep their head on a swivel here. He's a WR4 from a fantasy perspective, but with a role on a dangerous passing game, Washington could easily move into every-week flex appeal.
Detroit Lions TE Sam LaPorta (back) continues to participate in walkthroughs at organized team activities.
Footballguys view: Good news for the Lions here. LaPorta had back surgery last November, and he's been working his way back since then. With this continued participation, it's safe to assume that LaPorta will be a full participant when training camp gets here. Fantasy GMs know that when healthy, LaPorta can produce as a low-end TE1.
New England Patriots FB Jack Westover (undisclosed) did not participate in practice Thursday, June 11.
Link to storyNew York Jets QB Cade Klubnik's (back) back injury is not believed to be serious.
Link to storyCleveland Browns TE Harold Fannin Jr. (undisclosed) did not participate in any of the workouts or practices this offseason because of an undisclosed reason, according to The Athletic's Zac Jackson.
Footballguys view: We love what Fannin did as a rookie in 2025, but a groin injury late in the season limited him over the final couple of contests. This is an undisclosed injury, so who knows if his lack of participation is related to that or a new injury. So long as he's healthy for training camp and the preseason, we're not too concerned. With David Njoku (Chargers) gone, Fannin could be a top-10 fantasy tight end in 2026.
Houston Texans WR Jaylin Noel has been 'making waves' during OTAs and minicamp, according to Jared Koch of SI.com, and Noel said he is ready to take on a bigger role. 'Being able to be a gamechanger, being able to make big plays, I think that's what I bring to the Texans,' Noel said.
Footballguys view: Watch out for a second-year breakout here. He's been working this offseason as the first-team's slot receiver, and that fits perfectly with Noel's skill set. He's a WR4/5 for Fantasy GMs, but the upside is there for him to move into weekly flex consideration.
Green Bay Packers WR Matthew Golden worked with WR Christian Watson in two-receiver sets during minicamp.
Footballguys view: A first-round pick in 2025, Golden had a disappointing rookie season. This offseason, he's been the no.2 receiver splitting time with Jayden Reed. Dontayvion Wicks and Romeo Doubs are no longer on the roster, so there's a real opportunity for a speedy receiver like Golden. Consider him a WR5 with upside.
Kansas City Chiefs OTs Jaylon Moore, Esa Pole and Kahlil Benson are options to start at right tackle this season, following the team's recent trade of OT Wanya Morris to the Atlanta Falcons.
Link to storyMinnesota Vikings assistant general manager Ryan Grigson will have a new role with the team in 2026.
Link to storySeattle Seahawks vice president of player personnel Trent Kirchner and Cleveland Browns vice president of research and strategy Andrew Healy are being hired as assistant general managers for the Minnesota Vikings.
Link to storyBuffalo Bills RB Desmond Reid (undisclosed) was moved to the Reserve/Injured list Friday, June 12, after clearing waivers.
Link to storyHouston Texans QB C.J. Stroud has a better grasp of offensive coordinator Nick Caley's system, especially when it comes to pre-snap operation, according to quarterbacks coach Jerry Schuplinski.
Footballguys view: Stroud also could get Tank Dell back, and 2025 second day draft picks Jayden Higgins and Jaylin Noel both look ready to do more in their second seasons. Stroud is an afterthought in 1QB leagues and a bargain in superflex leagues right now.
C.J. Stroud player page
Chicago Bears QB Caleb Williams has shown a comfort level in the offense during OTAs and minicamp, according to Courtney Cronin of ESPN.com.
Footballguys view: It will disappointing if Williams doesn't look more comfortable and perform better in year two piloting Ben Johnson's offense. He is priced around QB6-7, but not much cheaper than QB3-5, so the fantasy football community expects him to improve. At least one of Colston Loveland, Luther Burden III, and Rome Odunze will be a big hit if Williams takes the expected step forward.
