Cardinals | Malik Willis an option in Arizona? Sat Feb 7, 11:20 PM
Green Bay Packers impending free-agent QB Malik Willis could be pursued by the Arizona Cardinals in free agency if the Cardinals part ways with QB Kyler Murray, according to Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com.

Green Bay Packers QB Jordan Love (thumb, arm) did not need postseason surgery for either the thumb injury he suffered in training camp, or the ailment to his non-throwing arm sustained during the season.

Green Bay Packers OT Zach Tom (knee) suffered a partially torn patellar tendon in Week 15, and he said after the season that he was leaning toward having surgery. However, general manager Brian Gutekunst said he doesn't expect the injury to impact Tom's 2026 season.
Link to storyGreen Bay Packers TE Tucker Kraft (knee) and the team have already begun talks about a potential contract extension. Prior to suffering a torn ACL on Nov. 2, Kraft was leading the team with 32 receptions, 489 yards and six touchdowns across eight games. 'Obviously, he's a really important part of this football team,' general manager Brian Kutekunst said. 'We've obviously been in contact with him and just let him know how we feel and we'll kind of see how it goes.'

Cleveland Browns DE Myles Garrett is the 2025 Defensive Player of the Year, and despite the walkout of defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz, owner Jimmy Haslam and general manager Andrew Berry aren't worried about the mindset of the star defender. 'We kept Myles abreast (of) the process throughout,' Berry said. 'So obviously he knew the news before you all did. Myles is a great team player and I'm not really worried about that.'

Dallas Cowboys WR George Pickens is expected to have the franchise tag placed on him, league sources said Saturday, Feb. 7. The projected cost of the one-year, fully guaranteed franchise tag is estimated to be around $28 million. The team can apply the franchise tag to Pickens anytime between Feb. 17 and March 3.

San Francisco 49ers RB Christian McCaffrey was named the 2025 NFL Comeback Player of the Year Award. He led the 49ers in both rushing and receiving yardage in 2025, totaling over 2,000 scrimmage yards after playing just four games in 2024.

Seattle Seahawks RB Kenneth Walker III, an impending free agent after Super Bowl LX, has stepped up his play in the postseason with four rushing touchdowns after fellow RB Zach Charbonnet (knee) went down with a torn ACL earlier in the playoffs. 'He's a phenomenal player, he's a great person, he's a great teammate,' head coach Mike Macdonald said. 'Again, those are things we are going to have to worry about, but not right now. Those are decisions we'll make in the future, but he knows how we feel about him, and I think we know how Ken feels about us.'
Link to storyPittsburgh Steelers QB Aaron Rodgers is reportedly refreshed after his 2025 season, and one source said Rodgers is in a much better place coming out of this year with the Steelers compared to the past two seasons with the New York Jets. The addition of former Green Bay Packers head coach Mike McCarthy in Pittsburgh, and offensive coordinator Brian Angelichio, might mean Rodgers gives it another season in Pittsburgh. Cincinnati Bengals impending free-agent QB Joe Flacco is a possibility, if Rodgers does not return, and Flacco isn't retained by the Bengals.

Updating a previous report, former Miami Dolphins and New York Jets head coach Adam Gase will be in Southern California early next week to speak with the Los Angeles Chargers about being their pass-game coordinator, and there is a strong possibility he is hired, according to a source. He has been out of the NFL since 2021.
Link to storySeattle Seahawks RBs Cam Akers and Velus Jones Jr. were elevated from the practice squad Saturday, Feb. 7, ahead of Super Bowl LX against the Denver Broncos. They'll provide depth behind RBs Kenneth Walker III and George Holani.

Atlanta Falcons QB Kirk Cousins is expected to be released before the start of the new league year in March. That gives him a choice where or if he wants to play in the 2026 season, league sources said Saturday, Feb. 7.

Updating a previous report, Las Vegas Raiders DE Maxx Crosby (knee) expects to be on the field during the early parts of the offseason workouts.

Cincinnati Bengals impending free-agent QB Joe Flacco is a player that the Bengals are interested in re-signing this offseason, according to ESPN.com's Jeremy Fowler.
Footballguys view: Joe Burrow is an incredible quarterback, but the Bengals need to be ready for him to miss time (again). That means a guy like Flacco could be an easy call as someone to keep around. Flacco can still play good football as a reserve option for teams in a playoff hunt (like the Bengals). We'll see what he decides to do when free agency opens up on March 11th.

Cincinnati Bengals WR Ja'Marr Chase caught seven of his eight touchdowns at home during the 2025 regular season and also posted 926 of his 1,412 receiving yards during home games.
Footballguys view: Chase is a superstar, and he can thrive in any stadium. He was able to make plays with either Joe Flacco or Joe Burrow at quarterback. Chase can do more if Burrow stays healthy for a full year. He's easily a consideration for the no1 wide receiver entering the 2026 season.

Washington Commanders impending free-agent QB Marcus Mariota said he enjoys Washington but is open to signing with another team if it means competing for the starting job. 'If something presents itself, great,' Mariota said. 'I will take time to iron it out, but I do love it here.'
Footballguys view: Mariota is unlikely to get a chance to compete for a starting job in 2026. However, he's clearly a trusted veteran backup quarterback that any team in a Super Bowl window may consider as an option. He may be looking to start, but Mariota may just end up choosing the best landing spot where he could get a championship.

Green Bay Packers WR Christian Watson said he wants to sign a long-term deal to remain with the team.
Footballguys view: Watson signed a one-year extension in September 2025, so he's under contract through the 2026 season. Coming off a 2024 knee injury, Watson didn't get on the field for the Packers until late October. He finished the 2025 season with 35 catches for 611 yards with six touchdowns. Fantasy GMs can look at him as a WR3/flex option, and we'll see if the Packers want to work out a long-term deal with him for 2027 and beyond.
Baltimore Ravens RB Derrick Henry recorded his fourth season with at least 1,500 rushing yards, 15 rushing touchdowns and 5.0 yards per carry in 2025, and Jim Brown is the only other play with two such seasons.
Footballguys view: Henry is still playing his best football, and that's likely to continue going forward. He can be the centerpiece of the Ravens new-look offense. Jesse Minter is the new head coach, and he's tasked Declan Doyle with running the Ravens on the offensive side of the ball. Doyle worked under both Sean Payton and Ben Johnson, so it will be interesting to see the type of offense he'll craft with guys like Henry and Lamar Jackson.
Derrick Henry player page
Indianapolis Colts WR Alec Pierce became the first player to average 20-plus yards per reception (minimum 35 catches) in back-to-back seasons since Flipper Anderson in 1989-90.
Footballguys view: That's an amazing feat considering guys like DeSean Jackson (and many others) were dangerous deep threats for years. Pierce is set to hit free agency if the Colts don't franchise tag him. The deadline to tag players is February 17th, and free agency then begins March 11th. We'll know more about Pierce's future in the coming weeks. If on the open market, Pierce could be one of the top receivers available.
Tennessee Titans WR Chimere Dike's 2,427 all-purpose yards in 2025 were the most by a rookie in NFL history, surpassing the mark set by Tim Brown in 1988.
Footballguys view: Dike is a force on special teams as a punt and kick returner. He's got more room to develop as a receiver as well. With HC Robert Saleh and OC Brian Daboll, we imagine Dike will continue to rack up all-purpose yards in 2026. He's got plenty of flex appeal for Fantasy GMs next season.
Atlanta Falcons RB Bijan Robinson's 5,648 yards from scrimmage are the most by a player age-23 or younger in NFL history.
Footballguys view: Robinson is clearly one of the best in the league at what he does. The Falcons changed their offense this offseason, and Kevin Stefanski takes over as head coach with Tommy Rees tagged as the offensive coordinator. Even with a new coaching staff, the Falcons should use Robinson early and often - making him a no-brainer top running back pick in fantasy drafts this summer.
Bijan Robinson player page
Buffalo Bills RB James Cook's 216 rushing yards against the Carolina Panthers in Week 8 were the most on record by a player who did not record a rushing attempt in the fourth quarter.
Footballguys view: Prepare for Cook to set more records this season. The NFL's leading rusher shows no signs of slowing down. The Bills promoted OC Joe Brady to their head coaching position, and he'll continue to feature Cook as much as possible in 2026.
Buffalo Bills QB Josh Allen's 301 total touchdowns through his first eight seasons are the most in NFL history, and he has more touchdowns than six teams during that span.
Footballguys view: Allen has all the success in the world during the regular season, but he's had multiple failures in the playoffs - not even yet earning a trip to the Super Bowl. That's one of the reasons why the Bills moved on from Sean McDermott. We'll see Joe Brady as head coach, and he'll have Allen scoring in bunches during the regular season. The real test will be whether or not Allen and the Bills will have more postseason success under their new head coach.

Philadelphia Eagles WR A.J. Brown had five games in 2025 when he failed to catch a pass in the second half.
Footballguys view: Brown's year with the Eagles was...interesting to say the least. He seemed disgruntled most of the year, and now there are rumblings and rumors about teams trying to make a trade for him. Brown said in a recent interview on Media Row at the Super Bowl that he's excited for the upcoming season with the Eagles. It's too early to tell exactly what's going to happen (maybe nothing, maybe something) with Brown this offseason.

Indiana WR Omar Cooper Jr. will have to answer questions about his 'true top-end speed and his route tree' ahead of the 2026 NFL Draft, according to Jordan Reid of ESPN.com.
Footballguys view: Cooper can work short-to-intermediate routes with ease, but he doesn't have the speed to threaten a defense vertically consistently. His game is all about yards after the catch as evidenced by his 39.1 percent missed-tackle-rate which led all receivers entering the 2026 NFL Draft. His timed speed will help determine his draft status which currently sits as a Day 2 projection.
San Francisco 49ers QB Mac Jones is a player that the 49ers would prefer not to trade this offseason, according to sources.
Footballguys view: There are many rumblings about Jones being a player of interest for a team like the Vikings this offseason. The 49ers have Brock Purdy as their franchise quarterback, but Jones looked good when starting for an injured Purdy this last year. They're going to say they have no intention of trading him to inflate his already somewhat high price of acquisition. Stay tuned.

Minnesota Vikings QB J.J. McCarthy will have competition next season since the team is expected to add a veteran quarterback to the roster this offseason.
Footballguys view: With Sam Darnold playing in the Super Bowl, it's clear the Vikings regret not trying to keep him around for 2025 - regardless of selecting McCarthy in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft. McCarthy missed his entire rookie season, and he looked bad when he played in 2025. The Vikings may push for guys like Aaron Rodgers, Kirk Cousins (if/when released by the Falcons), or Mac Jones (via trade) this offseason.
Kansas City Chiefs TE Travis Kelce has not made an official decision on his playing future, but people close to him believe he could play again in 2026, according to sources.
Footballguys view: Kelce is set to be an unrestricted free agent in 2026, so if he wants to keep playing, he'll have to sign a new deal with the Chiefs. It's too early to tell, but it seems like Kelce is going to suit up one more year (at least). The Chiefs had a down year, missing the playoffs in 2025, so Kelce may want to come back for this season and make another push for the Super Bowl.

Las Vegas Raiders DE Maxx Crosby (knee) said Friday, Feb. 6, that he is 'ahead of schedule' in his recovery from knee surgery. 'It's all about perspective, about how you approach what you want to accomplish,' Crosby said. 'I'm willing to run that marathon.'

Denver Broncos pass game specialist Zack Grossi is joining the Baltimore Ravens' coaching staff as the tight ends coach, according to sources.
Link to storyCincinnati LB Jake Golday's lateral speed will allow him to play all three linebacker spots in the NFL, in the opinion of Jordan Reid of ESPN.com.
Link to storyArizona State OL Max Iheanachor was 'the most impressive offensive prospect' at the Senior Bowl, according to Jordan Reid of ESPN.com, and Reid believes Iheanachor has climbed into the top 50 prospects in the 2026 NFL Draft.
Link to storyDallas Cowboys WR George Pickens and owner Jerry Jones have been discussing a contract extension, according to Jones, and Jones said he is 'looking forward to getting things worked out' with Pickens.
Footballguys view: Of course Jones is going to say that....and then he's likely to play hardball with the star receiver. The Cowboys just do that with big-money deals (see Dak Prescott, CeeDee Lamb, etc). We believe they'll use the franchise tag on Pickens. That gives the two sides until mid-July to work out a long-term deal.
Tennessee Titans QB Cam Ward threw 10 touchdowns and only one interception during the second half of the 2025 regular season. He threw five touchdowns and six interceptions during the first half of the season.
Footballguys view: Ward showed all the signs you need to see from a no.1 overall pick. Now, the Titans have plenty of work to do around him, but he flashed talent as a rookie. With better talent on offense in the passing game, Ward could start to flourish even more as a passer in 2026.
Indianapolis Colts WR Alec Pierce caught all six of his touchdowns during the second half of the 2025 regular season. He also recorded 617 of his 1,003 receiving yards during that span.
Footballguys view: Pierce is one of the best wide receivers who could be available in free agency this offseason. We'll see if the Colts decide to franchise tag him, and the deadline to do that is on Feb. 17. Pierce takes the top off the defense, and that's why he's averaged over 20 yards per catch each of the last two seasons.
Seattle Seahawks FB Robbie Ouzts (neck) was limited during practice Friday, Feb. 6, and is listed as questionable for Super Bowl LX. OT Joshua Jones (ankle, knee) was limited during practice but is not on the injury report. WR Jake Bobo (hand), OT Charles Cross (foot), QB Sam Darnold (oblique), S Nick Emmanwori (ankle), LB Ernest Jones (chest), LB DeMarcus Lawrence (non-injury), S Julian Love (shoulder), FB Brady Russell (hand), TE Eric Saubert (hamstring), WR Jaxon Smith-Njigba (non-injury), LB Drake Thomas (shoulder) and DE Leonard Williams (non-injury) fully participated in practice and are not on the injury report.

Seattle Seahawks WR Jaxon Smith-Njigba (non-injury) fully participated in practice Friday, Feb. 6, and is not on the injury report for Super Bowl LX.
Footballguys view: JSN could be the Super Bowl MVP. It's rare for wide receivers to win the award, but he's going to make big plays for Seattle in the biggest game. We're excited to see what he's got in store in the Super Bowl against the Patriots. Smith-Njigba is the best player on the field for either team.
Jaxon Smith-Njigba player page
Seattle Seahawks QB Sam Darnold (oblique) fully participated in practice Friday, Feb. 6, and is not on the injury report for Super Bowl LX.
Footballguys view: The oblique injury was a slight concern, but Darnold is not on the injury report. What a great story Darnold has over the last few years, and he could cap things off with a Super Bowl win.
Sam Darnold player page
New England Patriots LB Harold Landry (knee) and LB Robert Spillane (ankle) were limited during practice Friday, Feb. 6, and are listed as questionable for Super Bowl LX. DT Joshua Farmer (hamstring) fully participated in practice but is listed as questionable. OT Morgan Moses (non-injury), QB Drake Maye (shoulder) and OT Thayer Munford (knee) fully participated in practice and are not on the injury report.
Link to storyHarold Landry III player page
New England Patriots QB Drake Maye (shoulder) fully participated in practice Friday, Feb. 6, and is not on the injury report for Super Bowl LX.
Footballguys view: Maye is in his second season, and he could win the Super Bowl. He's a remarkable player with a big arm and the ability to lead his team from behind. Maye's shoulder is not a concern entering the game, but the team needs to protect him from big hits as the ferocious Seattle defense swarms around him.
Duke defensive line coach Harland Bower is being hired by the Baltimore Ravens as their new outside linebackers coach, according to sources.
Link to storySeattle Seahawks impending free-agent RB Kenneth Walker III said he would like to re-sign with the Seahawks this offseason.
Footballguys view: If Walker hits free agency, there will be many teams lined up for his services (Broncos?). He's a powerful player who can be trusted as a three-down back. There's an outside chance that Walker wins Super Bowl MVP if the Seahawks lean on the rushing attack to soften up the Patriots on Sunday.
Atlanta Falcons QB Kirk Cousins said he is feeling good after playing this season and is looking to play next season.
Footballguys view: Cousins didn't look terrible playing last year for an injured Michael Penix. He's not the same player he used to be, but with bad quarterback play around the league a team could do worse than Cousins. The Falcons may release Cousins after re-working his deal, but there's a chance they'd work hard to bring him back at a better price.

Pittsburgh Steelers tight ends coach Alfredo Roberts is being hired by the New York Jets as their new tight ends coach, according to a source.
