Cleveland Browns TE Harold Fannin Jr. (undisclosed) did not participate in the voluntary workout Wednesday, May 20.
Footballguys view: While Fannin missed time late in his 2025 rookie season with a groin injury, he had participated in the team's voluntary minicamp last month, suggesting this absence might be precautionary or unrelated to a long-term issue. Fannin became just the ninth tight end since the merger to log at least 700 receiving yards as a rookie. He was so good that the Browns opted to cut ties with longtime veteran David Njoku at the end of the season. But his role could change with Todd Monken taking over as head coach. We'll follow up as needed.
Former Denver Broncos special teams coordinator Dwayne Stukes has been hired by the Carolina Panthers as a special teams coach and a defensive assistant.
Link to storyPittsburgh Steelers QB Aaron Rodgers said that 2026 will be his final season.
Footballguys view: "Yes. This is it," Rodgers said on Wednesday when asked if this would be his final NFL season. He signed a one-year contract worth up to $25 million this week, reuniting with coach Mike McCarthy, his coach for 13 seasons with the Packers. By agreeing to his deal before OTAs, Rodgers was in the building for what McCarthy called the "most important part of the offseason program." Rodgers enters his 22nd NFL season ranked at least in the top seven in most major QB categories. Only Peyton Manning (5) has won more NFL MVP Awards than Rodgers (4).

Cleveland Browns QB Shedeur Sanders has made significant progress with his progressions and operating of the offense this offseason, according to head coach Todd Monken.
Footballguys view: Sanders and Deshaun Watson split first-team reps for most of Wednesday's practice, before Watson took all the reps at the end in a simulated hurry-up drill, Daniel Oyefusi of ESPN.com reports. Dillon Gabriel and Taylen Green didn't get much -- if any -- first-team work, but the rotation could change from practice to practice. Monken has talked about naming a starting QB before the start of training camp, though he eased off on prior statements Wednesday, telling reporters, "We'll have it set for [Week 1 at Jacksonville]." We expect Watson to be that starter, but nothing is chiseled in stone.
Baltimore Ravens WR Rashod Bateman was not present for the voluntary workout Tuesday, May 19.
Footballguys view: With a revamped and new coaching staff, schemes, and plays, the absence is noteworthy. Bateman is coming off the worst season of his career, and the team added two big-bodied receivers in April's NFL Draft. Ja'Kobi Lane was selected out of USC in the third round, and Indiana's Elijah Sarratt was added later in the fourth. Again, these are voluntary sessions. We'll monitor this and report back as needed.

New England Patriots WR Kyle Williams said he is more familiar with the offensive scheme and expects a big leap in his production as compared to his rookie season. He said he has also added some weight this offseason to help his strength.
Footballguys view: "I would say that me from now from my rookie year is going to be night and day," Williams said. Drafted with the 69th pick in the third round, Williams finished with 10 receptions, 209 yards, and three touchdowns last season. Although he showed potential, Williams wasn't always on the same page with quarterback Drake Maye. The then-rookie caught 42.9 percent (10 of 21) of his targets. Williams did showcase some intriguing abilities as a rookie. Most notably, the 5-11 receiver had three highlight-reel touchdowns where he showed an elite burst of speed. His progress this summer is worth watching.
Buffalo Bills WR Keon Coleman said he considers the 2026 season to be a make-or-break season for him and will have to perform in order to remain with the team.
Footballguys view: The 33rd pick in the 2024 NFL draft is coming off a tough 2025 season. Coleman, 23, was disciplined by former coach Sean McDermott in November for being late to a meeting. He was then inactive for three more games during the season. Coleman was also benched for a quarter of a game during his rookie season because of off-field issues. He finished the 2025 season with only one game over 100 receiving yards (Week 1) and four regular-season touchdowns. Coleman's realistic view of where he stands is a great starting point. Hopefully, he builds on it.
Undrafted free-agent TE Heinrich Haarberg (Nebraska) signed with the Carolina Panthers Wednesday, May 20. Terms of the contract were not disclosed.
Link to storyFree-agent LB Kyle Van Noy (Ravens) said he has received interest from multiple teams this offseason but is taking a wait-and-see approach to his playing future.

Free-agent WR Noah Short (Buccaneers) is working out for the Miami Dolphins Wednesday, May 20, according to a source.
Link to storyFree-agent RB Carlos Washington Jr. (Falcons) is working out for the Miami Dolphins Wednesday, May 20, according to a source.
Link to storyCleveland Browns RB Quinshon Judkins (ankle, leg) is participating in individual drills during the voluntary workout Wednesday, May 20.
Footballguys view: Judkins dislocated his ankle and fractured his fibula against the Bills in Week 16 and missed the final two games of the season. According to multiple reports, Wednesday was a light practice, but Judkins was out there moving around well, and there was no noticeable sign of a brace or other support on the leg. Judkins had 827 rushing yards and seven touchdowns in 14 games last season. An upgraded offensive line and a new, offensive-minded head coach in Todd Monken could benefit Judkins this season. He's currently being drafted as RB22.
Denver Broncos fourth-round pick OT Kage Casey signed his rookie four-year deal Wednesday, May 20. Financial terms weren't disclosed.
Link to storyDenver Broncos fourth-round pick RB Jonah Coleman signed his rookie four-year deal Wednesday, May 20. Financial terms weren't disclosed.
Footballguys view: While he starts his career in Denver behind veteran J.K. Dobbins and second-year man RJ Harvey, Coleman is a tough, physical runner with three-down capabilities due to his ability to catch passes and pass protect. He's an interesting prospect with an RB48 ADP that puts him in the same tier with Jacksonville's Chris Rodriguez Jr., the Giants' Tyrone Tracy Jr., Tennessee's Tyjae Spears, and Detroit's Isiah Pacheco.
Cam Skattebo insists he will be "ready to go" Week 1 as he continues his rehab from a gruesome leg injury. That is good news for the Giants as the running back had 125 carries for 617 yards and seven touchdowns as a rookie. Skattebo has much bigger goals for his second season. "I do not consider that successful for me," Skattebo said of his rookie season, via Stephen Whyno of the Associated Press. "I had 400 yards on 100 carries. When I play 17-plus games this year, it's going to be 300 carries for over 2,000 yards."
Footballguys view: As Profootballtalk.com points out, nine running backs have had a 2,000-yard season, the most recent coming by Saquon Barkley in 2024. Eric Dickerson owns the NFL record with his 2,105 rushing yards in 1984. Tiki Barber holds the Giants team record with 1,860 rushing yards in 2005. Skattebo's lofty goals might be over the top, but even though he only appeared in eight games last season, Skattebo was RB10 when he was hurt, despite not being a starter until Week 4. His RB20 ADP makes him an appealing play.
Buffalo Bills TE Dalton Kincaid underwent a proper offseason regimen, has added 10-to-12 pounds of muscle and his knee feels better after a torn PCL and hamstring issues, according to Nick Sabato of the Niagara Gazette on Tuesday, May 19.
Footballguys view: Kincaid has dealt with a nagging knee injury dating back to the 2024 season, which has led to nine games missed over the past two years, but he still decided to forego surgery. On Tuesday, he explained the expert advice he received that led him to continue to strengthen and rehab the injury instead of going under the knife. With Kincaid on point and new faces such as free-agent addition DJ Moore and fourth-round pick Skyler Bell in tow, the Bills' passing game appears much improved in the early going of the offseason.

Atlanta Falcons WR Zachariah Branch reportedly stood out at Falcons OTAs, with an explosive catch-and-run during offense vs. defense, and overall, standing out amongst the offensive players, in the opinion of Daniel Flick of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution on Tuesday, May 19.
Footballguys view: Flick wasn't alone in that assessment. According to FanSided's Garrett Klaus, "In his first days on an NFL practice field, he made A.J. Woods look helpless with a juke on an out-route, then followed it up with a catch and spin that drew immediate Bijan Robinson comparisons." For a receiver who was drafted 79th overall, the early buzz has been anything but quiet. Footballguy Sigmund Bloom believes Branch's quickness, 4.35 speed, and competitiveness could make him Tyreek Hill lite in a best-case scenario. It's enough to keep an eye on his progress this summer.
One week before being ordered to serve 30 days in jail, Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice underwent a clean-up surgery on his right knee to remove loose debris that was causing inflammation and now is expected to sideline him two months, league sources told ESPN.
Footballguys view: Rice underwent the surgery last week in Dallas, sources said, but he did it before knowing that he would be sentenced after violating the terms of his probation for his role in a crash that left multiple people injured on a Dallas highway two years ago. Now Rice is in a Dallas County jail and will be unable to get the type of medical attention and rehab that could have expedited his return from his recent knee surgery. Rice still is expected to be ready for training camp later this summer, but he also is facing the uncertainty of having to recover while in jail. We'll continue to monitor.

Free-agent CB Nazeeh Johnson (Chiefs) is reportedly visiting the Chicago Bears on Tuesday, May 19. Johnson also visited the New York Giants and Philadelphia Eagles, according to a source.

Buffalo Bills QB Josh Allen is participating in offseason workouts after undergoing surgery at the end of January to remove a bone chip in his right foot, according to a source on Tuesday, May 19.
Footballguys view: "You guys know Josh," head coach Joe Brady said, via Sal Capaccio of WGR 550. "He's good to go." Allen suffered the injury in the Week 16 game against the Browns, but didn't miss any games due to the issue. Allen's presence will give him plenty of time to get to know the new wide receiver, DJ Moore. The Bills traded a second-round pick to the Bears for Moore, who is Buffalo's new No. 1 receiver. To review: Fully healthy and with an additional weapon, Allen's QB1 ADP isn't changing any time soon.

Buffalo Bills RB James Cook was not at the team's OTAs on Tuesday, May 19. This was a voluntary session for the team.
Footballguys view: There's no reporting -- or even speculation -- on the reason for today's absence. So there's no need to get too far in front of this. We'll watch for more and report back as needed. Cook, who got a contract extension last season, has rushed for 1,000 yards in three straight seasons, including a career-best 1,621 in 2025 for his first-ever rushing title. He also posted a 2024 campaign where he was one of only three players with 18 or more touchdowns, as his 16 rushing scores tied for the most in the league. We'll follow up as needed.
Kansas City Chiefs WR Rashee Rice violated his parole by testing positive for marijuana on Tuesday, May 19. He will serve 30 days in jail and will miss the team's OTAs and mandatory mini-camp.
Footballguys view: If missed OTA and minicamp sessions are as bad as it gets, this could be forgotten in September. Rice missed the first six games of 2025 due to the suspension for his role in the six-car crash that led to his probation. He finished the year with 53 receptions, 571 yards, and five touchdowns, missing the final few games due to a concussion. The possibility of league discipline is the issue now. Earlier this year, Rice was accused of domestic assault. The NFL investigated and determined Rice would not be suspended for a second time. Could that change? Stay tuned.

Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson was not at the team's OTA practices on Tuesday, May 19.
Footballguys view: As Profootballtalk.com notes, Jackson has been an infrequent participant in voluntary work over the years, but he was present for the early days of the team's first program since hiring head coach Jesse Minter early in the offseason. "Lamar's been one of our leaders of the offseason program," Minter said Tuesday. "Couple of things going on yesterday and today, do expect him to be back soon." A $750,000 workout bonus hasn't motivated Jackson in past seasons; we'll see if Minter can this year. Stay tuned.

Los Angeles Chargers QB Justin Herbert was not present at the open practice session on Tuesday, May 19. Herbert has not been present at any of the Chargers' offseason programs yet.
Footballguys view: Backup quarterbacks Trey Lance and DJ Uiagalelei are taking the reps in place of Herbert. The Chargers have only three quarterbacks on their roster. Herbert, 28, threw for 3,727 yards with 26 touchdowns and 13 interceptions in 16 games last season. He did all this despite playing behind a depleted offensive line, and, late in the season, with a broken bone in his left (non-throwing) hand. Currently being drafted as QB11, Herbert should benefit from having Mike McDaniel as his playcaller and from an upgraded supporting cast. All he needs to do is show up. We'll watch for more.
Justin Herbert player page
Atlanta Falcons QB Michael Penix Jr. and QB Tua Tagovailoa will split first-team reps early in OTAs, according to head coach Kevin Stefanski.
Footballguys view: The uncertainty of Penix Jr.'s return from a torn ACL led the Falcons to sign Tagovailoa. But Penix is ramping up his workload as he seeks to enter the quarterback competition. Penix is participating in Phase 2 of the Falcons' offseason program, which consists of drills and individual work. Penix has said he expects to be ready for Week 1, but will that be soon enough to put him in a position to compete with Tagovailoa for the job? We see Tua as the early favorite, but it's a situation to watch.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers LB Alex Anzalone has flourished in the team's system, according to defensive pass game coordinator George Edwards. Edwards said Anzalone picks up concepts quickly.

Green Bay Packers director of football operations Milt Hendrickson was promoted to vice president of player personnel Tuesday, May 19. John Wojciechowski was promoted to director-football operations. Other promotions include: director of player personnel Richmond Williams, director of pro scouting Lee Gissendaner, senior player personnel executive Matt Malaspina, director of college scouting Pat Moore, senior national scout Sam Seale, national scout Luke Benuska and assistant director of pro scouting Mike Owen.
Link to storyMiami Dolphins RB De'Von Achane reported to organized team activities Tuesday, May 19.
Footballguys view: The Dolphins' new brass made a statement by rewarding Achane with a four-year, $64 million contract extension last week. Achane, who led the league with 5.7 yards per carry in 2025, has been around the building throughout the offseason, head coach Jeff Hafley said. "It's not like he just showed up after he signed his contract," Hafley said. "He's a great player, and I'm really glad we have him." Achane finished 2025 with 1,350 rushing yards with eight touchdowns, plus 67 receptions for 488 yards with four TDs. Expect to pay a first-round price to secure his services.
San Francisco 49ers WR Jordan Watkins and WR Jacob Cowing are competing for the WR5 spot on the depth chart.
Link to storySan Francisco 49ers WR Christian Kirk and WR De'Zhaun Stribling will compete for the slot-receiver role. Kirk is also likely to be the backup at the Z spot.
Footballguys view: While Stribling is a great fit in San Francisco, he might be more of a long-term project. SI.com predicts the rookie will enter Week 1 as the fourth receiver behind Mike Evans, Ricky Pearsall, and Kirk. This will give Stribling time to develop his route running. The 49ers planned for this and only signed Kirk to a one-year deal. That opens the door for Stribling to take his spot next season and be a consistent contributor to the offense. But this year, Kirk is likely to be the more productive player.

Cardinals quarterback Jacoby Brissett continued his contract holdout Monday as the club held its first OTA under new coach Mike LaFleur, who told reporters the discussions about a reworked deal for the 2026 season are the "same as where we were a few weeks ago." LaFleur added that he has been in contact with Brissett but declined to go into further detail about their conversations.
Footballguys view: LaFleur pointed out that Monday's practice was voluntary and that Brissett's experience will help him understand what the Cardinals are doing offensively under the first-time head coach. The only difference, LaFleur said, was the contrast in verbiage. Brissett, who has reportedly been told he will be the starter, has not attended any of the Cardinals' voluntary offseason program thus far. Arizona is holding a mandatory minicamp for veterans and rookies June 8-10. Brissett, who started 12 games for Arizona last season, wants a restructured contract for the final season of the two-year deal he signed in March 2025.

New York Giants RB Cam Skattebo said that he's 'feeling great' and that he's 'ready to go for Week 1' at New York Giants Town Hall on Monday, May 18.
Footballguys view: Skattebo's rookie campaign ended in Week 8 last year with a gruesome-looking dislocated ankle injury. He told reporters at the end of last season that he was making progress and even hoped to do some light work in the offseason. That won't be the case, at least not in terms of doing team drills. Even though he feels great, Skattebo is still "a little ways off" from a return to the field. Training camp is still two months away, and the 2026 season is even further out, so we'll continue to monitor.
New York Giants head coach John Harbaugh when talking about TE Isaiah Likely, TE Theo Johnson, TE Chris Manhertz, and TE Thomas Fidone II, said, 'there's not a better tight end room in the league,' according to a source on Monday, May 18.
Footballguys view: Harbaugh coached Likely for four seasons in Baltimore. He knows what Likely can bring to an offense. Likely served as a TE2 in Baltimore behind three-time Pro Bowler Mark Andrews. The Ravens were always at the top of the league in rushing with the two-tight end set. The Giants hope to establish the same offense, and Likely will play a major role along with Johnson. Having Likely and Johnson both on the field would allow the Ravens to run or pass in a variety of looks, and Jaxson Dart would have two athletic mismatches to throw to whenever he wanted.
Chris Manhertz player page
Arizona Cardinals TE Tip Reiman (ankle) is expected to be ready for the start of training camp, according to head coach Mike LaFleur.
Footballguys view: As USA Today noted, Reiman surpassed Elijah Higgins as the Cardinals' No. 2 tight end, as he is a devastating blocker. Reiman's season was cut short in Week 5 when he fractured his ankle and missed the rest of the season on injured reserve. In four games played, he had three receptions for 18 yards in his second NFL season. While he's not a vital fantasy asset, Reiman's superior blocking skills will be a plus for rookie running back Jeremiyah Love.
Undrafted free-agent CB Marlon Jones (Vanderbilt) has signed a contract with the Green Bay Packers, according to a source on Monday, May 18.
Link to storyUndrafted free-agent CB Tamon Lynum (Pittsburgh) has signed a contract with the Pittsburgh Steelers, according to a source on Monday, May 18.
Link to storyCarolina Panthers RB Montrell Johnson Jr. (undisclosed) and TE Bryce Pierre (undisclosed) were waived/injured Monday, May 18.
Link to storyThe Steelers have signed rookie RB/WR Eli Heidenreich.
Footballguys view: According to Footballguy Sigmund Bloom, Heidenreich is an excellent receiver out of the backfield, and he has some potential with Aaron Rodgers after Kenneth Gainwell broke out with the veteran QB at the helm. Still, he may not make the team unless it is at 2025 third-round pick Kaleb Johnson's expense. Some local observers believe that Heidenreich, a seventh-round pick, is a candidate to land on the practice squad this year. We'll follow up as needed.
The Steelers have signed their second-round pick, WR Germie Bernard.
Footballguys view: Bernard will move into the rotation alongside DK Metcalf and Michael Pittman Jr. after the Steelers finished 2025 with the second-fewest receptions (136) among WR groups last season. According to Footballguy Jeff Bell, Bernard should immediately work in Pittsburgh's slot and as a gadget player.
Undrafted free-agent RB Miles Davis (Utah State) agreed to terms with the Carolina Panthers Monday, May 18, according to a source. Terms of the contract were not disclosed.
Link to storyArizona Cardinals QB Jacoby Brissett was not present for the voluntary workout Monday, May 18.
Footballguys view: Brissett, who has been told he will be the starter this season, has been staying away as he seeks a raise for 2026. Monday is the start of the third phase of the offseason program. It features increased on-field work. Gardner Minshew and third-round pick Carson Beck will handle the quarterbacking portion. The OTAs are voluntary, and next month's minicamp will be the only mandatory work of the offseason. Brissett will be subject to fines if he does not attend those workouts. The expectation is that a deal will get done. We'll continue to watch for more.
