49ers | Kurtis Rourke unlikely for start of camp Wed Jun 11, 03:13 PM
San Francisco 49ers QB Kurtis Rourke (knee) is not expected to be ready for the start of training camp, according to head coach Kyle Shanahan.
Link to storySan Francisco 49ers WR Jauan Jennings (calf) is not participate in the mandatory minicamp but is expected to be ready for the start of training camp, according to head coach Kyle Shanahan.
Footballguys view: With the timetable for Brandon Aiyuk's return from last year's torn ACL still uncertain, a cautious approach with Jennings makes sense. Coming off his most productive campaign as a pro, Jennings and Ricky Pearsall are expected to be the team's top receivers heading into Week 1. In case you missed it, Jennings set career highs in targets (113), receptions (77), receiving yards (975), and touchdowns (6) in 2024. He heads into the summer with a WR37 Average Draft Position and a Round 7 price. |
Jauan Jennings player page
San Francisco 49ers WR Ricky Pearsall (hamstring) is not participating in the mandatory minicamp this week, but head coach Kyle Shanahan indicated that Pearsall should be ready for the start of training camp.
Footballguys view: With Brandon Aiyuk likely sidelined at the start of the 2025 season after last year's torn ACL, Pearsall and Jauan Jennings are projected as the Week 1 starting wide receivers. That being the case, a cautious approach with Pearsall's hamstring seems wise. Pearsall finished his rookie campaign with 31 receptions for 400 yards and three touchdowns. He ended the season on a high note, hauling in 14 catches for 210 yards and two touchdowns over the final two games. That late surge shouldn't be lost on fantasy investors, who'll find Pearsall available as WR41 in Round 8. |
Updating a previous report, Houston Texans RB Joe Mixon (undisclosed) is no longer wearing a walking boot but is now wearing an ankle brace, according to sources. He seems to have a good chance to be ready for training camp.
Footballguys view: A prudent approach in June shouldn't set off alarm bells. In Mixon's case, the injury is of much less concern than Nick Chubb signing with the team last week. Mixon was a revelation for the Texans in 2024, but Chubb's arrival indicates the team is at least open to the idea of getting other runners involved. As USA Today notes, the problem last year was they sorely lacked the personnel to do so. At the very least, Chubb is an upgrade to Mixon's understudies from last season, and depth matters. We'll be watching this backfield closely in training camp. |

Buffalo Bills WR Laviska Shenault Jr. (undisclosed) did not participate in practice Wednesday, June 11.
Footballguys view: Shenault spent the 2024 season with Seattle, and one of his best moments of the season featured a 97-yard return for a touchdown against the San Francisco 49ers. Shenault is a capable receiver and rusher as well. He has 1,587 receiving yards, 253 rushing yards, and seven total touchdowns in five seasons. But expecting him to earn a fantasy-relevant role in Buffalo seems like a reach. |
New York Jets QB Justin Fields said he hopes to work out with the wide receivers and tight ends on the roster before the start of training camp.
Footballguys view: While two of his Jets teammates, wide receiver Garrett Wilson and tight end Jeremy Ruckert, played with Fields at Ohio State. Still, the more work all the receiving assets can get with Fields, the better -- for fantasy investors and Fields. As ESPN's Dan Graziano noted, the $10 million in guaranteed money on his contract for 2026 won't stand in the way of the team drafting or acquiring someone it sees as a better option next spring if Fields doesn't play well enough to convince it otherwise. |

Washington Commanders WR Noah Brown (undisclosed) was carted off the field during practice Wednesday, June 11, after suffering an undisclosed injury.
Footballguys view: Brown joined the Commanders last year and re-signed with the team this offseason. He had 35 catches for 453 yards, including a game-winning Hail Mary against the Bears, before suffering a season-ending kidney injury. As Profootballtalk.com notes, the Commanders were already without Terry McLaurin because he opted not to report to minicamp while pushing for a new contract. They'll hope to iron that out by training camp, and they'll be hoping that Brown is well enough to be back on the field at that point as well. |
Noah Brown player page
New York Jets WR Malachi Corley (undisclosed) did not participate in practice Wednesday, June 11.
Footballguys view: It's been the same for Corley, a former third-round pick who's coming off a disappointing rookie year since OTAs began. As previously noted, a new front office and coaching staff that has no loyalty to him also has no idea how he fits their needs. The more Corley has to sit out with injuries, the harder it will be for them to figure out his role. |
New Orleans Saints TE Dallin Holker (undisclosed) is participating in the mandatory minicamp this week after missing some of the voluntary workouts because of an undisclosed issue.
Link to storyCarolina Panthers WR Adam Thielen is not participating in practice Wednesday, June 11, but appears to be receiving the day off.
Footballguys view: In 11 seasons as a pro, Thielen has 685 receptions for 8,311 yards and 64 touchdowns, numbers that are among the top 15 in the league among active players. Some missed work in June isn't going to have a significant impact on his season, assuming there's nothing serious here. If he's available and in the lineup this season, Thielen's chances of outperforming his WR65 ADP and 15th-round price are good. |
Adam Thielen player page
Miami Dolphins TE Jonnu Smith has been excused from the mandatory minicamp and has received permission to seek a trade, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Footballguys view: There have been rumors and reports indicating Smith was available to interested suitors. Talks with the Steelers didn't bear any fruit, but with Smith seeking a new contract in Miami after a career-best season in 2024, discussions are likely ongoing. We'll continue to watch for more. |

Buffalo Bills RB Ty Johnson (undisclosed) was present for practice Tuesday, June 10, but did not participate in any drills.
Footballguys view: As SI.com recently reminded readers, the Bills used Johnson as a scheme player in some matchups last season, leading to some big plays and touchdowns. He beat the Lions with five catches for 114 yards in Week 5 while also surprising in two other matchups (46 combined yards with a touchdown and three catches and 70 combined yards with a score and two catches). But in his other 17 games, Johnson had 283 yards with two touchdowns and 12 catches. That inconsistent week-to-week output limits his fantasy relevance. |

Buffalo Bills WR KJ Hamler (undisclosed) did not participate in practice Tuesday, June 10. Head coach Sean McDermott indicated that Hamler should be ready for training camp.
Link to storyWashington Commanders WR Michael Gallup (hamstring) is not participating in the mandatory minicamp this week because of a strained hamstring, according to a source.

Washington Commanders S Jeremy Reaves signed a one-year contract extension with the Commanders Wednesday, June 11, according to a source. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Link to storyTennessee Titans WR Treylon Burks (knee) is ahead of schedule in his recovery from a knee injury and hopefully will be cleared to fully practice once training camp begins, according to head coach Brian Callahan.
Link to storyJacksonville Jaguars WR Brian Thomas Jr. (shoulder) left practice early Wednesday, June 11, after landing hard on his shoulder. Head coach Liam Coen said it was precautionary, and Thomas could have gone back in.
Footballguys view: Thomas Jr. took a hard fall during team drills after a collision with Tyson Campbell. Though he went off the field with trainers and went inside the team facility, he was back on the field with his helmet later in the session -- though he did not go back in. Thomas is set to be a primary weapon for Jacksonville's offense in 2025. He caught 87 passes for 1,282 yards with 10 touchdowns as a rookie last year. He's WR7 on the Footballguys 2025 Projections. |
Miami Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa said he has focused on getting the ball out quicker this offseason. Tagovailoa said he tried to run people over last season in order to prove his toughness, but he understands his availability is key.
Footballguys view: Tagovailoa missed six starts last season. That brings his total to 15 games missed due to injury in his five-year NFL career, with 2023 remaining as the only season he started every game. The Dolphins' record in the 10 games that Tagovailoa has missed because of injury the past three seasons is 3-7, so he understands the importance of staying in the lineup. For our purposes, Tua being under center offers the best chance for the Dolphins we're invested in -- De'Von Achane, Tyreek Hill, Jaylen Waddle, and Jonnu Smith -- to return value. So it matters to us, too. |
Tua Tagovailoa player page
Los Angeles Chargers OT Rashawn Slater was in attendance for the team's minicamp practice on Tuesday, June 10, marking his first appearance with the club this offseason. Slater, who is entering the final year of his rookie deal and seeking a contract extension, has skipped all of LA's voluntary activities this offseason.
Link to storyDenver Broncos TE Evan Engram is a 'curious fit' in head coach Sean Payton's offensive scheme, in the opinion of ESPN's Bill Barnwell, who believes Engram lacks the 'physicality' of TE Jeremy Shockey, as well as the 'verticality and ability to win in the red zone' of TE Jimmy Graham -- those were the two tight ends that Barnwell noted had success as the 'Joker' under Payton, a role that Engram was signed to fill during the offseason.
Footballguys view: Barnwell explained that Engram has always been more of a safety valve than a threat with the ball in his hands. Additionally, Barnwell points out that Engram's career-high 963 receiving yards in 2023 came on 143 targets, and he believes it would be a surprise if the volume was there for Engram to reach 140-plus targets again. For fantasy investors, the price -- he's being drafted as TE9 at the end of Round 8 -- isn't so high that we need peak Engram to return value. |

Miami Dolphins WR Tyreek Hill (wrist) was spotted catching passes during individual drills for the first time on Tuesday, June 10, since undergoing wrist surgery in the offseason.
Footballguys view: Hill is still expected to be ready for the start of training camp even though he underwent that recent procedure to have pins installed in an earlier surgery removed from the wrist. Hill is coming off a disappointing season, but Hill currently sits at WR14 on the Footballguys projections. That's slightly higher than his WR17 average draft position. He can be had in the third round with the 35th pick overall. |
Tyreek Hill player page
San Francisco 49ers WR Brandon Aiyuk (knee) is not expected to be ready for the start of training camp in late July, according to head coach Kyle Shanahan on Tuesday, June 10.
Footballguys view: Although his timeline is unclear, Aiyuk was spotted lightly jogging and coaching up teammates during Tuesday's practice, a positive sign in his recovery. "He's making his way back," Shanahan said. "He's still in the middle of it. So, he's working through that. He's been around, been rehabbing for the most part, but he's been out to some practices, and it was good to have him out today." Still, with Aiyuk likely sidelined at the start of the 2025 season, Ricky Pearsall and Jauan Jennings are projected as the Week 1 starting wide receivers. |
Brandon Aiyuk player page
Atlanta Falcons TE Kyle Pitts (foot) is expected to take things slow during the offseason workouts, head coach Raheem Morris told reporters Tuesday, June 10.
Footballguys view: With Pitts heading into a make-or-break season in Atlanta, ensuring he's healthy for training camp makes sense. Beyond that, Morris discussed the "hope" the team still had in Pitts based on the fact that "he's super talented." That's true. However, as Fansided's Nick Halden suggests, the issue has consistently been Pitts' ability to play through the whistle and put his body on the line to earn the trust of his quarterback. Until this changes, the results are only going to improve marginally, no matter what level of talent Michael Penix Jr. proves to be. |
Kyle Pitts player page
Seattle Seahawks RB Kenneth Walker III (ankle) has been limited at practice due to an ankle injury, head coach Mike MacDonald told reporters Tuesday, June 10.
Footballguys view: As SBNation's Mookie Alexander reminded readers, Walker's injury-riddled 2024 season ended on IR after suffering an ankle injury against the Vikings. He also dealt with calf and oblique injuries that resulted in missed time earlier in the year. With just 11 games played, Walker had a career-low 573 rushing yards and no carries longer than 28 yards. Given that context, Walker missing time isn't ideal. Also, it's June. We'll revisit this issue when the Seahawks open training camp. In the meantime, Zach Charbonnet, Kenny McIntosh, rookie Damien Martinez, and 2024 UDFA George Holani will get more turns in minicamp. |
Cincinnati Bengals first-round draft choice DE Shemar Stewart (Texas A&M) is not participating in mandatory minicamp as the team continues to insist on a clause that allows it to void future guarantees on rookie contracts. Stewart has yet to practice in any fashion with the team since he was drafted nearly two months ago.
Link to storyFree-agent QB Desmond Ridder (Raiders) took part in minicamp practice with the Indianapolis Colts on a tryout basis on Tuesday, June 10.
Link to storyNew England Patriots OL Wes Schweitzer was placed on the Reserve/Retired list on Tuesday, June 10.
Link to storyTampa Bay Buccaneers OT Tristan Wirfs (knee) did not participate in mandatory minicamp practice on Tuesday, June 10, and was spotted with a brace on his right knee. Head coach Todd Bowles told reporters after practice that the team is taking a 'precautionary approach' with Wirfs and the expectation is he will 'be fine' for training camp.
Link to storyJ.K. Dobbins, the Comeback Player of the Year finalist, is signing with the Broncos on a one-year, $5.25 million deal, sources tell NFL Network's Tom Pelisser and Ian Rapoport.
Footballguys view: It's not a huge surprise. Head coach Sean Payton likes to use a two-back system and seemed interested after Dobbins first visited the team last Thursday. Now that it's come to pass, Footballguy Cecil Lammey expects Dobbins to serve as the 1A to rookie RJ Harvey's 1B in Denver's backfield. Still only 26, Dobbins had over 1,000 yards from scrimmage and nine TDs in 13 games last season with the Chargers. |

After participating in offseason workouts until the start of organized team activities, Terry McLaurin did not report to mandatory minicamp, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported Tuesday, per sources. Washington's minicamp began Tuesday and runs through Thursday. Players who skip mandatory minicamp practices are subject to fines, per the collective bargaining agreement.
Footballguys view: McLaurin signed a three-year, $68.2 million extension with Washington in 2022, but is entering the final year of that deal in 2025 and is seeking a new contract prior to taking the field. Averaging $23.2 million on his current deal, McLaurin is 16th in annual average among wide receivers -- and second on his team behind new addition Deebo Samuel ($23.8 million per year). At this point in the offseason, McLaurin is protecting his greatest asset -- his health -- while money is still on the table. |

Joe Flacco and Kenny Pickett are competing with rookies Dillon Gabriel and Shedeur Sanders for the starting job with the Browns, and the first day of mandatory minicamp saw the youngest players get the most work. After the session was over, head coach Kevin Stefanski told reporters at a press conference that was part of a plan to the fullest possible evaluation of all the players. "We try to be intentional about everything," Stefanski said. "Certainly, Joe had fewer reps today. That's obviously on purpose. Just trying to get as much evaluation on the guys as we can."
Footballguys view: Practice reps in quarterback competitions are always closely monitored and the most watched one this year may be in Cleveland. That being the case, it's easy to read too much into the day-by-day workloads. The good news? As PFT suggests, the Browns aren't going to be making any Week 1 decisions in the immediate future, so there will be a lot more counting of reps to come before September gets here. We'll be following along. |
Joe Flacco player page
Seattle Seahawks P Michael Dickson reportedly agreed to terms on a four-year contract extension worth $16.2 million on Tuesday, June 10.
Link to storyChicago Bears WR Luther Burden III (undisclosed) is expected to fully recover from the undisclosed injury he suffered during rookie minicamp by the start of training camp in late July, according to head coach Ben Johnson.
Footballguys view: As CBSSports.com notes, Burden sustained an undisclosed soft-tissue injury during rookie minicamp and has been sidelined since. It looks like the rookie second-round pick won't get in any work at mandatory minicamp, notable reps to miss given that Burden already sat out voluntary OTAs. Once healthy at training camp, Burden will work to make up for lost time and secure the No. 3 receiver role behind DJ Moore and Rome Odunze. |
Jacksonville Jaguars QB Trevor Lawrence (arm), who was spotted wearing a throwing sleeve at the start of mandatory minicamp, is experiencing 'general soreness,' according to head coach Liam Coen.
Footballguys view: Lawrence went through the entire practice, throwing the ball during the session, but the sleeve raised questions from the media in attendance. "We threw a lot of balls last week," Coen explained. "He feels good. He said it wasn't really an issue . . . I think it was more just maintenance than anything that was really bothering him." Lawrence's 2024 season ended because of left shoulder surgery, but it doesn't appear that the current issue with his throwing arm is a risk to put him back on the sideline. We'll follow up as needed. |

Atlanta Falcons QB Kirk Cousins reported for mandatory minicamp Tuesday, June 10, according to The Insiders. 'We're moving forward and it's about how we as a team and as a quarterback room can be the best we can be in 2025,' Cousins said.
Footballguys view: While Atlanta has turned the page to second-year quarterback Michael Penix Jr., the club is set to keep Cousins as a backup for 2025. Cousins would like to be a starter, but absent an injury, it appears starting slots for the coming season have been filled. Cousins will make $27.5 million in base salary for the 2025 season on the four-year contract he signed as a free agent last offseason. Though he had attended some of the Falcons' voluntary workouts, it's unclear what level of participation Cousins will have with the club this week. |

Updating an ongoing story, Indianapolis Colts QB Anthony Richardson (shoulder) remains without a timeline to return after visiting Dr. Neal ElAttrache, the surgeon who operated on Richardson's AC joint last year, in Los Angeles for a checkup, according to head coach Shane Steichen.
Footballguys view: As Profootballtalk.com reminded readers, Richardson had surgery to repair the AC joint in his right shoulder after suffering an injury during his rookie season. Steichen noted last week that Richardson had reported soreness in the throwing shoulder during the offseason program. Richardson is competing with Daniel Jones to be the Colts' starter to open the season. While it seems likely Richardson will return at some point during training camp, Jones will benefit from the opportunity to begin separating himself in the battle between the two former first-round picks. |

Arizona Cardinals DT Walter Nolen signed a four-year contract Tuesday, June 10. Per NFL rules, the team has a fifth-year option as Nolen was a first-round selection. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Link to storyMinnesota Vikings TE Josh Oliver agreed to terms on a three-year, $23.25 million contract extension Tuesday, June 10, according to a source. The maximum value is $27.5 million, and Oliver will receive $19.9 million in guaranteed money.
Footballguys view: Profootballtalk.com notes that Oliver was heading into the third and final year of the three-year, $21 million contract he signed with the Vikings in 2023. He was originally a third-round pick of the Jaguars in 2019 and was traded to the Ravens in 2021 before signing with the Vikings in 2023. Last season, Oliver played in 15 games with 12 starts on offense and also played 30 percent of the Vikings' special teams snaps. |

Free-agent LB Shaq Thompson (Panthers) agreed to a one-year deal with the Buffalo Bills Tuesday, June 10. Financial terms weren't disclosed.

Houston Texans QB C.J. Stroud (shoulder) is throwing at minicamp Tuesday, June 10.
Footballguys view: Stroud was limited in recent OTA sessions due to a tight pectoral muscle, an issue that was characterized as "relatively minor" last week. Stoud throwing during today's session suggests that's the case. Stroud is going as QB16 in Round 10 in early best ball drafts. While his Footballguys QB20 projection isn't as optimistic, that price might be appealing to those taking a shot on a QB2 who delivered QB1 numbers just two years ago. |
C.J. Stroud player page
Buffalo Bills RB James Cook is attending minicamp Tuesday, June 10, but it's unclear if he'll participate as he seeks a new contract.
Footballguys view: Cook did not attend the team's voluntary portion of the offseason program. But the fact that he's in attendance for minicamp could be a positive sign of negotiations, even if Cook doesn't do much on the field. A second-round pick in 2022, Cook is entering the final year of his rookie contract. He has rushed for 1,000 yards in each of the last two seasons and led the league with 16 rushing TDs in 2024. Cook's RB14 Average Draft Position and the associated late-third-round price aren't far off his RB11 finish last season. |
Miami Dolphins TE Jonnu Smith is not at the team's minicamp Tuesday, June 10.
Footballguys view: Smith is seeking a new contract in Miami after setting a club tight end record with 884 receiving yards on 88 catches with eight touchdowns last year. Smith is set to earn $4.1 million in 2025. While the Dolphins had some discussions about trading Smith, no deal has come to pass. As NFL.com notes, head coach Mike McDaniel has acknowledged Smith is a vital cog in the Dolphins offense. Miami would be hard-pressed to fill that role if it were to trade the 29-year-old. Remember: Smith will be subject to more than $100,000 in fines for missing the three-day session. |
Jonnu Smith player page
Miami Dolphins CB Jalen Ramsey is not at the team's minicamp Tuesday, June 10.
Footballguys view: Ramsey's absence is excused, per head coach Mike McDaniel, and therefore, he will not be fined. The Dolphins are in the process of trying to trade the Pro Bowl corner, so it makes sense that they wouldn't require his presence during minicamp. |
Jalen Ramsey player page
Cincinnati Bengals DE Trey Hendrickson is not at the team's minicamp Tuesday, June 10.
Footballguys view: As NFL.com notes, the veteran pass rusher has been trying to get a new deal for the past several years. This offseason, things turned contentious, with no progress made on an extension. The club allowed Hendrickson to seek a trade earlier this offseason, but interested teams shied away from giving up draft capital and paying the salary he's seeking. Hendrickson has said he has no plans on playing for Cincy without a new contract. Skipping minicamp, which will subject him to more than $100,000 in fines, is the next phase of what continues to be a protracted battle. |
Trey Hendrickson player page
Pittsburgh Steelers LB T.J. Watt is not attending the team's minicamp Tuesday, June 10.
Footballguys view: Watt is seeking a new contract as he enters the final year of an extension he signed in 2021, with a base salary of $21.05 million. Watt currently sits as the seventh-highest-paid edge rusher in average annual salary at $28.003 million. According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, talks with Watt haven't progressed in Pittsburgh. But when it's struck, a new deal should come in well above that for one of the NFL's best pass rushers. Watt has finished with double-digit sacks in six of the past seven seasons -- with only the injury-shortened 2022 season as the outlier. |
T.J. Watt player page
Tennessee Titans QB Will Levis should not be 'count[ed] out' for the starting job, according to ESPN's Turron Davenport, who noted comments made by head coach Brian Callahan that there'd be a competition during minicamp and training camp.
Footballguys view: Titans coach Brian Callahan said there will be a competition during minicamp and training camp. Both quarterbacks took turns starting in 7-on-7s and team periods during OTAs. Even so, the expectation is rookie Cam Ward, the first pick overall in April's NFL Draft, will be the Week 1 starter. Defensive coordinator Dennard Wilson is already impressed with Ward's vision and ability to find the open receiver. That's an early sign of progress. But the best way to prepare Ward is to increase reps, especially with the first team. We'll be watching for that in training camp. |
Will Levis player page
Indianapolis Colts QB Daniel Jones has an 'ideal opportunity' to show the team he can be the starting quarterback during this week's mandatory minicamp, in the opinion of ESPN's Stephen Holder, who notes it 'offers a chance to build some continuity with his receivers and offensive linemen in full-squad workouts.' Jones is set to compete with QB Anthony Richardson (shoulder), who will miss the entire camp due to a shoulder injury, for the starting job, but Jones should be in line to get most, if not all, of the first-team reps here.
Footballguys view: The Colts wanted a quarterback competition this offseason, but Richardson's aggravated shoulder injury likely ended hopes of that at minicamp. That injury has already given Jones an edge in the QB battle. This week offers a chance to build some continuity with his receivers and offensive linemen in full-squad workouts, as Jones won't be sharing first-team snaps as planned. |
Daniel Jones player page
Minnesota Vikings WR Justin Jefferson has participated in voluntary workouts this offseason because he is working on building chemistry with QB J.J. McCarthy.
Footballguys view: As ESPN.com's Kevin Seifert noted, it's easy to understand why Vikings coach Kevin O'Connell lobbied Jefferson to attend the voluntary workouts that he skipped in recent years. Early June is a better time to work through the twists of a quarterback-receiver relationship than July, August, or beyond -- especially when one of them has as many unique traits as Jefferson. Despite playing with five different starting quarterbacks, Jefferson still ranked atop the NFL with an average of 96.6 yards per game. But time on task matters, and it's great to see Jefferson getting in the work with McCarthy. |

Los Angeles Chargers offensive coordinator Greg Roman said he plans on have WR Ladd McConkey line up at multiple spots this upcoming season.
Footballguys view: McConkey had a phenomenal rookie campaign. He finished with a team-high 1,149 receiving yards on 82 catches while adding seven touchdowns. The former Georgia product spent most of his time in the slot, but it makes sense to make it harder for defenses to plan for him -- and easier for Roman to create mismatches with him. McConkey is being drafted as WR11 with the 22nd pick overall. |
