Jets | Malachi Corley works on side Wed Jun 4, 04:00 PM
New York Jets WR Malachi Corley (undisclosed) worked with a trainer on the side during practice Tuesday, June 3.
Footballguys view: The previous regime found no use for Corley's talents, and the third-round pick was on the inactive list for much of his rookie campaign. This year, a new regime that has no loyalty to him isn't sure where he fits. "Now, we have a ways to go to really try to figure out exactly where we're going to place him," new HC Aaron Glenn said, "because he's been in and out, that's just what it is." The more Corley has to sit out with injuries, the harder it will be for the new staff to figure out his role. |
New England Patriots RB Rhamondre Stevenson said he is very comfortable with the offensive playbook because offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels was with the Patriots when he was a rookie.
Footballguys view: Stevenson rushed for 606 yards with five touchdowns during that rookie campaign. He averaged 4.6 yards per carry. Stevenson might still have his spot atop the team's running back depth chart, but New England drafted TreVeyon Henderson in the second round of April's NFL Draft. More action for Henderson would mean less for Stevenson, who rushed for 801 yards and a career-high seven touchdowns for the Patriots over 15 games in 2024. Fantasy investors are drafting that way. Henderson is RB28 on the Footballguys Projections. Stevenson is RB37. |

Undrafted free-agent TE Mitch Van Vooren (St. Norbert) signed with the Seattle Seahawks Wednesday, June 4. Terms of the contract were not disclosed. The team also waived WR Nate McCollum.
Link to storyBuffalo Bills RB James Cook was not present for the offseason workout Tuesday, June 3.
Footballguys view: Cook has made his desire for a new contract clear, but the Bills don't appear to have budged, even after his second straight 1,000-yard season, in which he averaged nearly five yards per carry and rushed for a league-high 16 touchdowns. So, Cook is staying away from voluntary OTAs. His absence will continue to draw attention, but at this point, there's no reason to believe Cook won't be on the field for the regular season. |
Chicago Bears TE Colston Loveland (shoulder) and TE Stephen Carlson (undisclosed) did not participate in practice Wednesday, June 4.

Free-agent WR Jaelen Gill (Browns) signed with the Cleveland Browns Wednesday, June 4. Terms of the contract were not disclosed.
Link to storyWashington Commanders WR Terry McLaurin was not present for the offseason workout Wednesday, June 4.
Footballguys view: The Commanders and the wide receiver's representatives are in a standoff regarding another lucrative contract extension ahead of time. Nobody is pressing the panic button just yet, but the situation needs a successful resolution sooner rather than later. We'll continue to watch for more. |

Pittsburgh Steelers TE DJ Thomas-Jones and TE JJ Galbreath may have a better chance to make the 53-man roster with TE Donald Parham (Achilles) to miss significant time, in the opinion of PennLive.com's Nick Farabaugh.
Link to storyPittsburgh Steelers RB Jaylen Warren said he is ready to take on a large role in the offense but does not expected his role to significantly increase since RBs Kaleb Johnson and Kenneth Gainwell are on the roster.
Footballguys view: Warren still projects as the lead running back, but sharing with Johnson and Gainwell is baked into Warren's RB27 Footballguys Projection. But even at that, Johnson's RB33 spot and lower average draft position makes him appealing. Both are reasonably priced depth options at the position. |
Baltimore Ravens offensive coordinator Todd Monken said the team wants WR Zay Flowers to get the ball more often this upcoming season.

Washington Commanders WR Michael Gallup (undisclosed) was present for the offseason workouts Wednesday, June 4, but did not participate in drills.

Cleveland Browns QB Kenny Pickett received the first snaps with the starting offense during team drills Wednesday, June 4.
Footballguys view: The Browns brought back 2023 hero Joe Flacco and drafted two young quarterbacks, Dillon Gabriel and Shedeur Sanders. However, Pickett was the first man up as the team took the field. Still, as USA Today suggests, it's far too early to give any of this credence. Training camp does not even start for another month and a half. That said, the Athletic's Zac Jackson recently advised readers there's "almost no scenario" in which either rookie would win the starting job in the offseason. The early expectation is Joe Flacco will open the season as the starter. |

Dallas Cowboys EDGE Micah Parsons announced on social media that he'll be at minicamp next week. A long-term deal is not done, but Parsons indicated he would report and prepare like he's going to be there for the first day of training camp.
Footballguys view: Parsons did not indicate whether he would participate in the minicamp, and it seems unlikely he does any on-field work. As for training camp, Parson said that he will join the team in Oxnard, California, in July only if he has signed a contract extension by then. That was the expectation, with the four-time Pro Bowl still awaiting an extension. Parsons, 25, became eligible for an extension after the 2023 season, and he's expected eventually to get an extension that will top Ja'Marr Chase's annual average of $40.25 million, making him the highest-paid non-quarterback in the league. |

Green Bay Packers DL Kenny Clark underwent surgery on his foot shortly after the season to fix an injury he sustained during the team's Week 1 game against the Philadelphia Eagles that took place in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Clark indicated he dealt with a bunion and bone spurs, which led to the surgery.
Footballguys view: Clark posted his lowest tackle total since his rookie season of 2006 and had only one sack all season after totaling 15.5 over the previous three seasons combined. Clark just began doing individual drills during OTA practices this week, so those interested in investing in him as a depth piece in IDP leagues will want to monitor his progress. |

Green Bay Packers WR Romeo Doubs looks like a 'specimen,' per head coach Matt LaFleur, who says there is 'a difference in his physique.' Doubs, who has been the subject of some trade speculation, 'remains an essential part of the Packers offense,' in the opinion of The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel's Ryan Wood.
Footballguys view: Doubs exited the team's Jan. 12 playoff loss to the Eagles with his second concussion in less than two months. According to Wood, Doubs declined to answer a question about what doctors have told him regarding the potential for more concussions in the future. He also declined to answer when doctors cleared him to begin working out again, though he has had seemingly no limitations during the offseason program. At this point, Doubs, at WR69, is third among the Green Bay wideouts on the Footbalguys Projections, behind Matthew Golden (WR43) and Jayden Reed (WR46). |
Green Bay Packers QB Jordan Love rested for several weeks following the team's elimination from the playoffs to heal from knee, groin, and elbow injuries suffered during the 2024 season, pausing both working out and throwing the ball. He's feeling 'good' now and has been a full participant in the team's organized team activities.
Footballguys view: For what it's worth, Love looked sharp in this week's OTA sessions. He completed six of seven pass attempts for 75 yards and a touchdown during Tuesday's two-minute drill. He threw a 30-yard touchdown to Jayden Reed before completing a two-point conversion to Romeo Doubs for the "win." Because defenses tend to dominate in early practices as the offense works on timing and execution, Tuesday's effort was viewed as a positive sign for the offense. Still, Green Bay is a run-heavy offense, and Love doesn't have much rushing equity. He opens up as QB18 on the Footballguys Projections. |

If there was any lingering notion that a healthy Sam Darnold could be beat out for the Seattle Seahawks' starting quarterback job, coach Mike Macdonald put it to rest in decisive fashion Tuesday.Asked whether anything other than an injury between now and the start of the season could lead the Seahawks to go with another quarterback, Macdonald replied: "No, you guys are crazy . . . It's just not going to happen. Sam's our starting quarterback. We love him. He's doing a tremendous job."
Footballguys view: The question came a day after Darnold delivered an up-and-down performance -- including two interceptions across three plays during red-zone drills -- in the Seahawks' fourth day of OTAs, the first that was open to reporters. Macdonald emphasized that it's still early in the offseason program and that some mistakes are expected to happen. The Seahawks signed Darnold to a three-year, $100.5 million contract after trading Geno Smith to the Las Vegas Raiders. Rookie Jalen Milroe and veteran backup Drew Lock are the other options here. |

Dallas Cowboys WR CeeDee Lamb (shoulder) did not participate in the team's OTA session Tuesday, June 3.
Footballguys view: This seems like a non-issue, and a source told Athlon, there were "no red flags." The consensus WR1 heading into 2024, Lamb's numbers dipped noticeably when Dak Prescott was lost to a hamstring injury. Add in a shoulder injury of his own, and it helps explain how Lamb went from averaging an NFL-best 23.8 fantasy points per game in 2023 to 17.6 points per game this past season. Still, Lamb is the fourth player off the board in early drafts going as the WR3. |
CeeDee Lamb player page
Chicago Bears WR Luther Burden III (undisclosed) did not participate at the team's mandatory minicamp, according to sources Tuesday, June 3.
Footballguys view: Burden, who suffered an injury to his midsection in a May 10 practice, is missing critical opportunities to build chemistry with quarterback Caleb Williams during OTAs. The hope is Burden can return during minicamp or the second phase of OTAs next week. If not, training camp in July will be the next time fans will look to see if these guys step on the practice field. |
Carolina Panthers TE Tommy Tremble (back) could return before the end of the preseason, head coach Dave Canales told reporters Tuesday, June 3.
Footballguys view: Tremble had back surgery recently early last month. Tremble, who signed a new two-year deal with the Panthers ahead of free agency in March, joined the team as a 2021 third-round pick. He has 85 catches for 782 yards and nine touchdowns in 61 career games. Ja'Tavion Sanders, at TE32 on the Footballguys Projections, is the most fantasy-relevant Panthers tight end. |

Pittsburgh Steelers TE Donald Parham Jr. (Achilles) suffered a torn Achilles during practice, according to sources Tuesday, June 3. He is expected to miss the entire 2025 season.
Footballguys view: After four seasons with the Los Angeles Chargers, Parham spent 2024 on the Broncos' practice squad and last played in 2023. With Parham set to miss the season, thhe Steelers have three other tight ends on the roster -- Pat Freiermuth, Darnell Washington, and J.J. Galbreath. Parham's injury might explain the report that Pittsburgh and Miami have resumed discussing a possible trade that would send Jonnu Smith to the Steelers. |

Back in it: the Steelers renewed conversations today with Dolphins TE Jonnu Smith, who is seeking a new contract. The trade between the Steelers and Dolphins is still alive, per source.
Footballguys view: This report by ESPN's Adam Schefter comes less than eight hours after Schefter reported that the two sides weren't expected to cut a deal. Again, where Smith plays matters. He finished behind only Brock Bowers, Trey McBride, and George Kittle leaguewide in receiving yards by a tight end in 2024 en route to a TE4 finish. Smith is going as TE7 in early best-ball drafts. |

Patriots receiver Stefon Diggs showed up for Monday's OTA session. His presence raises an obvious question. Has he passed the all-important physical mentioned in several portions of his contract? The Patriots have declined to answer whether the physical has been passed.
Footballguys view: Diggs was on hand for Monday's OTA session; he was limited to individual drills. The physical, if passed, will clear Diggs to fully practice and play. In addition, Diggs' $12 million signing bonus is expressly tied to passing that physical. Until Diggs passes the physical, the Patriots (who have "no plans" to release him) have a potential escape hatch from his contract. Stay tuned. This story will continue to draw headlines until it's resolved. |

Updating a previous report, New England Patriots LB Jahlani Tavai (calf) suffered a calf injury on Monday, June 2, that is expected to keep him sidelined until training camp, according to sources.
Footballguys view: When Tavai had to exit practice on Monday, reporters noted that it looked like a potentially significant injury. So this latest report is good news. As pointed out by Mike Reiss of ESPN, Tavai had been in the mix at inside linebacker during the offseason program, though free-agent signee Robert Spillane has been leading the charge. |

Link to storyNew England Patriots first-round draft choice OT Will Campbell (Louisiana State) signed his four-year rookie contract worth $43.66 million - including a signing bonus of $28.39 million - on Tuesday, June 3.
Link to storyBaltimore Ravens WR Zay Flowers (knee) told reporters on Tuesday, June 3, that his knee feels great and he is not being limited during spring practices.
Footballguys view: In case you missed it, Flowers posted a video on social media last month that showed him catching passes from QB Lamar Jackson. Adding to the positive vibes, head coach John Harbaugh confirmed the knee injury Flowers suffered last season did not require surgery. He will be the team's no.1 wide receiver again. Flowers is coming off back-to-back 100-target seasons (and his first 1,000-yard season in 2024). He's WR21 on the Footballguys 2025 Draft Projections. |

Updating previous reports, Atlanta Falcons TE Kyle Pitts (foot) is not practicing during organized team activities this spring due to a strained muscle in his foot, according to a source.
Footballguys view: Nothing new here. Instead, we get further confirmation of what's been widely reported for more than a week now. Ensuring Pitts is healthy heading into the season is important for the team for a player heading into a make-or-break season. Remember, Pitts finished the 2024 season as TE15, but he was TE23 on a points-per-game basis (with 7.7 points a week). He's being drafted in that same range in early best balls, so gambling on a rebound isn't cost-prohibitive. |

Houston Texans QB C.J. Stroud (shoulder) has taken limited reps during the team's offseason practices, but head coach DeMeco Ryans noted on Tuesday, June 3, that Stroud is just experiencing 'general soreness' in his shoulder and the team is taking 'extra precaution' with him.
Footballguys view: Aaron Wilson of KPRC2, a well-connected Houston beat writer, recently confirmed the issue was a tight pectoral muscle that is considered "relatively minor." Meanwhile, we'll remind you that few quarterbacks fell further from meeting expectations than Stroud, who was drafted as QB6 last summer before finishing the regular season as QB18. This year, Stroud is going as QB16 in Round 10 in early best ball drafts. That's a bit off his QB20 Footballguys Projection, but it's a reasonable price for bargain hunters willing to bet minimal draft capital on a QB2 who delivered QB1 numbers just two years ago. |

Tennessee Titans QB Cam Ward has progressed already in camp, according to head coach Brian Callahan, who said he's pleased with Ward's progress. Ward has progressed in understanding throws he made in college won't necessarily be available to make in the NFL, and Callahan said he's picking up the mental part quickly.
Footballguys view: This isn't a surprise after a report by ESPN's Jeremy Fowler on Monday indicated coaches have been impressed with Ward's work ethic. Fowler added that while Ward has been sharing snaps with QB Will Levis, the rookie will start receiving more work with the first-team offense in advance of training camp. While there's something to be said for players with locked-in roles, Ward, who opens as QB26 on the Footballguys redraft projections, has much to prove at a position with loads of quality depth. |
Miami Dolphins TE Jonnu Smith was the subject of conversations with the Pittsburgh Steelers, but they're not expected to trade for him.
Footballguys view: Smith, who was not present for Miami's voluntary OTA practices last week, expressed interest in the team reworking the two-year deal he signed last offseason. But Drew Rosenhaus, Smith's agent, said Sunday night that his client's "first choice" is to remain with the Dolphins after he set a franchise record for receptions (88) and receiving yards (884) by a tight end last season. Smith led all Dolphins players in receptions and finished behind only Brock Bowers, Trey McBride, and George Kittle leaguewide in receiving yards by a tight end. Smith is going as TE7 in early best-ball drafts. |

Free-agent WR Gabe Davis (Jaguars) is expected to visit the Pittsburgh Steelers Thursday, June 5.
Footballguys view: Davis spent last season with the Jaguars, appearing in 10 games. He caught 20 passes for 239 yards with a pair of touchdowns before suffering a torn meniscus and missing the rest of the year. The Jags released Davis last month. This will be Davis' third reported visit with a team since he became a free agent earlier this offseason. Davis has also visited with San Francisco and the New York Giants. |

Minnesota Vikings RB Jordan Mason finished third in the NFL behind only Baltimore Ravens RB Derrick Henry and Philadelphia Eagles RB Saquon Barkley in a Next Gen Stats metric designed to 'assess the degree to which running backs generate more yards than expected,' per The Athletic's Alec Lewis.
Footballguys view: The Vikings traded for Mason, who ran for 100 yards on 20 carries against them in Minnesota last season, in March. They made the deal a week after signing Aaron Jones to a lucrative, two-year $20 million extension with $13 million guaranteed. While it's safe to assume the Vikings still see Jones as their lead back after a strong 2024 season, fantasy drafters in early best balls don't see much of a gap between the two. Jones is being drafted as RB28 in Round 7; Mason is going as RB32 in Round 9. |
Baltimore Ravens RB Keaton Mitchell said his knee is feeling as good as it did before he suffered his torn anterior cruciate ligament.
Footballguys view: Mitchell, who averaged 8.4 yards per carry on 47 runs in his rookie year, has been impressive in early workouts. With Derrick Henry leading the way and Justice Hill coming off a career year, there aren't too many more offensive snaps for other running backs in Baltimore. But Mitchell has proven he doesn't need too many snaps to make a significant impact with his big-play ability. He could have an immediate impact in the return game, as he averaged 31.2 yards on his five returns last season. |
Keaton Mitchell player page
Tennessee Titans QB Cam Ward has been sharing snaps with QB Will Levis but will start receiving more work with the first-team offense as the offseason practices go on, according to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler.
Footballguys view: "The Titans coaches have been really impressed with his work ethic so far." Fowler said of Ward, "They knew he was a hard worker coming in, but I was told they had to kick him out of the offices at times." It makes sense. As USA Today suggested, "Ward didn't go from zero-star recruit to the first overall pick in the NFL draft by resting on his laurels." It's encouraging. But it doesn't change the fact that Ward's fantasy value is limited in redraft formats. |
New England Patriots WR Stefon Diggs is not in danger of being released this offseason.
Footballguys view: Former Patriots quarterback Scott Zolak, now a member of the local media, said last week that Diggs' release was "on the table." NFL Network's Ian Rapoport is reporting the Patriots have no plans to release the veteran wideout. Welcome to the NFL news cycle in June. The uncertainty began last week when a viral video showed Diggs providing a baggie of pink powder to women on a boat. On Monday, Diggs was present for the Patriots' organized team activities, working on a limited basis. Stay tuned. We're sure to hear more on Diggs before all is said and done. |

New York Jets TE Mason Taylor seems to be the leading candidate for the tight end job entering training camp, in the opinion of JetsWire's Craig Moffett.
Footballguys view: Taylor opening the season as the starter would not be a massive suprise. Veteran Jeremy Ruckert has been disappointing, although he hasn't gotten many opportunities to shine as a receiving threat. Stone Smartt is an interesting dart throw and could push Ruckert for the backup spot behind Taylor, who will be a capable security blanket for Justin Fields in the passing game. |
