Seahawks | Cooper Kupp impresses in OTAs    Thu Jun 26, 12:43 AM

Seattle Seahawks WR Cooper Kupp 'looked the part' of 'a legitimate complementary piece' to WR Jaxon Smith-Njigba during minicamp and OTAs, in the opinion of Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic, who writes that Kupp 'still has enough wiggle, understanding of leverage and quickness' to make things difficult for defenses both in underneath routes and the red zone.

Footballguys view: Kupp can be an immediate favorite target for QB Sam Darnold, and that has a certain amount of fantasy value. He could easily be a weekly flex play or at least deep flex play for Fantasy GMs on a weekly basis.

Seahawks | Cooper Kupp to work underneath    Mon Jun 9, 12:04 AM

Seattle Seahawks WR Cooper Kupp has been lining up 'pretty much everywhere' during OTAs, according to Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic, but Dugar believes Kupp will be used mainly on short-to-intermediate routes this season.

Footballguys view: The big issue for Kupp is staying on the field. He's only played in 33 games over the three seasons, but his production has remained excellent. Projected over 17 games, Kupp is still producing at a 100-catch, 1,000-yard rate per year. If he can come close to that in Klint Kubiak's offense this year, Seattle's offense will be dynamic. As Fansided.com notes, along with Jaxon Smith-Njigba, the Hawks will have two savvy, accomplished route runners who can line up anywhere. For fantasy investors, Kupp is being drafted as WR45 this year -- which aligns with his WR42 Footballguys Projection.

Rams | Cooper Kupp to be on trade block    Mon Feb 3, 07:20 PM

Los Angeles Rams WR Cooper Kupp said he has been informed by the team that they will look to trade him this offseason.

Footballguys view: Kupp shared on social media on Monday night that the Rams were looking to trade him "immediately" and that they were "working with me and my family to find the right place to continue competing for championships." Further specifics on what that deal would look like, or when it will come down, are not yet known. We do know that Kupp, who has spent his entire career with the Rams, would prefer to remain with the club. "I don't agree with the decision and always believed it was going to begin and end in LA," the veteran wideout wrote. The 31-year-old has two years left on his three-year, $80 million deal. He is owed $20 million next season and just shy of $20 million in 2026.

Rams | Copper Kupp to continue playing    Tue Jan 21, 12:43 AM

Los Angeles Rams WR Cooper Kupp said he plans to continue his playing career and hopes to stay with the Rams but does not know what the team will do this offseason.

Footballguys view: "Who knows what is going to happen?" Kupp said. "A lot of stuff is out of my control. I don't have any clarity on what that's gonna look like. Obviously would love to be in L.A. but I don't know what that is gonna look like." Kupp finished the regular season with 67 catches for 710 yards and six touchdowns in 12 games. As The Athletic's Jordan Rodrigue noted, the veteran wideout's targets dwindled during the back stretch of the regular season and into the playoffs. He had four catches on nine targets over the last three regular-season games, was targeted once for one catch against Minnesota in the wild-card round, and caught five passes on seven targets against the Eagles on Sunday. In his 14 games (including the postseason), Kupp had 10 or more targets just four times and eight or more targets six times. Kupp finished the season as WR36, but his per-game average (14.6 points) ranked 23rd.

Rams | Los Angeles comes up short in Philly    Sun Jan 19, 06:15 PM

The Los Angeles Rams were eliminated by the Philadelphia Eagles in the NFC Divisional Round. QB Matthew Stafford completed 26-of-44 passes for 324 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions, while running for five yards with one fumble lost. RB Kyren Williams had 19 carries for 106 yards, also had a lost fumble in the snow and ice. WR Puka Nacua ended up with six receptions for 97 yards on 14 targets, while WR Demarcus Robinson added three grabs for 74 yards, and WR Cooper Kupp snagged five balls for 61 yards on seven targets. TE Tyler Higbee ended up with seven receptions for 54 yards and a touchdown on 10 targets, and TE Colby Parkinson had two catches for nine yards and a score. DE Jared Verse had four solo stops, two sacks and three tackles for loss with two quarterback hits, while DT Neville Gallimore had a sack for a safety.

Footballguys view: The Rams came very close to an incredible comeback and showed that they can play in the cold and snow despite being from Los Angeles. They were able to slow down a relentless Eagles pass rush with a no huddle drive after falling behind 28-15 late in the fourth quarter and then got into the red zone on a potential game-winning last second drive. The Rams were on the brink of giving up on the season and trading Cooper Kupp before a win over the Vikings turned their season around. Their defense finished strong and the team is very young and should be the favorites to win the division next season. The biggest offseason question is whether the team will pay Kupp the $5 million guarantee of a $7.5 million roster bonus on March 15. Kupp is also due $12.5 in non-guaranteed salary next season. Ballyhooed sixth round rookie Jordan Whittington would move into Kupp's role if the Rams decide to move on from him.

Rams | L.A. Rams moving on to Divisional Round    Mon Jan 13, 11:27 PM

The Los Angeles Rams topped the Minnesota Vikings in the NFC wild-card game, led by QB Matthew Stafford who was 19-of-27 for 209 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions. RB Kyren Williams ran 16 times for 76 yards, while adding three receptions for 16 yards and a score. TE Tyler Higbee had five receptions for a team-high 58 yards before checking out with an injury. WR Puka Nacua was the top wideout with five catches for 44 yards on nine targets, while WR Cooper Kupp had a lone 29-yard reception on his only target. WR Demarcus Robinson also had a 23-yard reception on his only offensive touch on two targets, while TE Davis Allen had a 13-yard touchdown grab on his only reception. DE Jared Verse had a 57-yard fumble recovery for touchdown, too, while DT Neville Gallimore and LB Byron Young each had 1.5 sacks apiece. DT Kobie Turner had four total stops, two solo tackles, two sacks, two tackles for loss and two quarterback hits, while S Quentin Lake had team highs with nine total stops and six solo tackles.

Rams | LA Rams confirm they will rest several key players    Fri Jan 3, 02:40 PM

Los Angeles Rams QB Matthew Stafford, WR Puka Nacua, WR Cooper Kupp, RB Kyren Williams, OT Alaric Jackson and OG Kevin Dotson will not be active in Week 18 against the Seattle Seahawks, according to head coach Sean McVay. Additionally, OT Rob Havenstein (shoulder) will not play due to a shoulder injury.

Footballguys view: This was expected after Sean McVay basically said as much earlier this week. Blake Corum will be a good play, and with Jimmy Garoppolo at quarterback, Jordan Whittington, Demarcus Robinson, and Tutu Atwell have flex value. The Rams can still secure the #3 seed and avoid the loser of the Rams/Vikings game with a win. If they lose and the Bucs beat the Saints, Tampa Bay will be the #3 seed.

Rams | Sean McVay likely to rest key players in Week 18    Tue Dec 31, 01:47 PM

Los Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay recently told the team's website that his team will always compete 'relative to what is at risk.' However, resting some of his most important players - such as Matthew Stafford, Kyren Williams, Puka Nacua and Cooper Kupp - is 'probably the direction that we will go' in Week 18 against the Seattle Seahawks.

Footballguys view: While they can guarantee themselves the No. 3 seed with a win over the Seattle Seahawks in Week 18, the Rams don't have to win that game because they're already certain to have a home playoff game in the wild-card round. McVay is excited to see what Jimmy Garoppolo can do in his first opportunity as a member of the Rams, similar to the chance Carson Wentz got in Week 18 last year. At running back, McVay is looking forward to seeing Blake Corum and Cody Schrader getting a bigger workload in place of Williams, who has stayed healthy for the entire season despite carrying it 316 times and playing 87 percent of the offensive snaps. Expect Demarcus Robinson, Tutu Atwell, Jordan Whittington, and Xavier Smith to move up in the pecking order at wideout.

Rams | Cooper Kupp held to 24 yards    Sun Dec 22, 04:52 PM

Los Angeles Rams WR Cooper Kupp caught three passes for 24 yards against the New York Jets in Week 16. He was targeted three times during the game.

Footballguys view: Kupp burned anyone who went back to him after last week's zero. The Jets put together long drives and the game didn't feature a lot of offense, so the Rams leaned more on their running game and didn't test the defense with downfield passing for the second straight week. Anyone who survived this dud or was smart enough to bench Kupp probably will not rely on him against the Cardinals on Saturday.

Rams | Cooper Kupp held without a catch on TNF    Fri Dec 13, 12:51 AM

Los Angeles Rams WR Cooper Kupp was targeted three times but did not record a reception versus the San Francisco 49ers in Week 15.

Footballguys view: This is going to be hard to overcome, but far from impossible. Kupp has been a liability in lineups each of the last two weeks. His ceiling is still too high to put on the bench against the Jets if you are able to survive his goose egg.

Rams | Cooper Kupp hits triple digits    Sun Nov 17, 08:31 PM

Los Angeles Rams WR Cooper Kupp ended up with six receptions for 106 yards and two touchdowns on a game-high 10 targets in Week 11 against the New England Patriots.

Footballguys view: The Rams benefited from the Patriots inability to generate a consistent pass rush. In addition, as ESPN.com's Mike Reiss noted, the secondary- a strength of the defense- didn't have many answers for the potent combination of Puka Nacua and Kupp. Nacua had six receptions for 117 yards and a touchdown in the first half. Kupp's second touchdown was a backbreaking 69-yarder early in the third quarter. The Los Angeles offense has hit stride with all the key skill players in place. They'll play the Dolphins in Week 12.

Los Angeles Rams WR Cooper Kupp caught five passes for 51 yards and a touchdown against the Minnesota Vikings on Thursday, Oct. 24. Kupp was targeted eight times.

Footballguys view: In a return to last year's template in the Rams passing game, Kupp was a short range possession receiver while Puka Nacua did damage downfield. With Nacua out there, Kupp isn't going to be the PPR WR1 he looked like in Week 1, but he's still going to be a useful receiver who should be in lineups every week.

Rams | Cooper Kupp not long for L.A.?    Tue Oct 22, 01:49 PM

Los Angeles Rams WR Cooper Kupp (ankle) may not remain with the team through the trade deadline, as the team is reportedly open to trading him and taking on some salary to get a deal done, according to The Athletic's Dianna Russini. The team is reportedly asking for a second-round draft pick in return.

Footballguys view: There is no shortage of receiver-needy teams that could use a veteran talent to help them get over the finish line. The Buccaneers, who run a Rams-style offense under coordinator Liam Cohen, just lost Chris Godwin for the season. Mike Evans is also dealing with a hamstring injury. The Chiefs have lost Hollywood Brown and Rashee Rice for the season, while JuJu Smith-Schuster has been ruled out this week with a hamstring injury he aggravated Sunday. The 49ers, who lost Brandon Aiyuk to a season-ending ACL injury, also have a need, but it's fair to wonder if the Rams would be interested in helping out a divisional rival. Whatever the case, we'll continue watching this one. Kupp is expected to play against the Vikings on Thursday night.

Los Angeles Rams WR Cooper Kupp (ankle) is expected to play against the Minnesota Vikings in Week 8, head coach Sean McVay said Sunday, Oct. 20.

Footballguys view: Kupp is one of the NFL's best receivers and has been missing since he injured his ankle against the Cardinals in Week 2. Through the first two games in 2024, Kupp was his productive self. He had 18 receptions for 147 yards and a touchdown.
