Bengals | Daxton Hill on track for opener Wed Aug 20, 03:21 PM
Cincinnati Bengals CB Daxton Hill (knee) will be ready for the start of the regular season, according to head coach Zac Taylor.
Link to storyIndianapolis Colts WR Michael Pittman Jr. (undisclosed) is participating in practice Wednesday, Aug. 20.
Footballguys view: Pittman missed practice on Tuesday, but he's back out there on Wednesday. That means it's just a minor issue. Pittman did have a groin injury that was tweaked earlier in camp. With Daniel Jones at quarterback, Pittman should be the favorite target. He has a current ADP of WR49 and could outperform that spot. |
Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson (foot) left practice early Wednesday, Aug. 20, after having his foot stepped on. The team said Jackson will be fine moving forward.
Footballguys view: It's a scare but that's it. Jackson can continue playing at an MVP level, and there are rumblings about a contract extension coming. His current cap number for 2026 ($74.5 MM) would make things difficult when it comes to keeping core players together on the roster. |

Cincinnati Bengals WR Jermaine Burton (undisclosed) is making good progress in his recovery, according to head coach Zac Taylor.
Link to storyCincinnati Bengals TE Mike Gesicki (undisclosed) is considered day-to-day because of an injury, but head coach Zac Taylor said Gesicki could play this weekend if needed.

Denver Broncos RB Jaleel McLaughlin (undisclosed) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Aug. 20.
Footballguys view: McLaughlin is the Broncos' scatback. He likely makes the roster as the no.3 back behind JK Dobbins and RJ Harvey. If one of those guys gets banged up, it's unlikely that McLaughlin's role would grow from what it is right now (change-of-pace scatback). |
Baltimore Ravens WR Rashod Bateman (undisclosed) is not participating in practice Wednesday, Aug. 20.
Footballguys view: Bateman might just be getting some rest here. He's a big-play specialist who can fly down the field and be a presence in the red zone. From a fantasy perspective, Bateman can be a frustrating boom-bust play as a deep flex option. |

Washington Commanders RB Brian Robinson Jr. was excused from practice on Wednesday, Aug. 20, by head coach Dan Quinn, according to Josh Taylor of AtoZSports.

New York Jets RB Isaiah Davis (ankle) has been sidelined for two weeks because of an ankle injury and is walking around with a slight limp.
Footballguys view: The Jets are likely to run the heck out of the ball this year. That's good news for Breece Hall and Braelon Allen, but that could trickle down to Davis if needed. He's a powerful back who can grind down an opponent. We like him in dynasty formats, but this ankle injury has to clear up before he'll have the opportunity to produce. |
New England Patriots WR Javon Baker (undisclosed) will travel with the team for their final preseason game and may be able to play in the game, according to sources.
Footballguys view: Baker needs to play if he can. He's on the roster bubble and is likely bound for the practice squad if he's impressed enough over the summer. |
Chicago Bears DB Terell Smith (knee) is out for the season with a torn patellar tendon, according to a report by the Chicago Tribune's Brad Biggs on Wednesday, Aug. 20. Smith was carted off the field with a non-contact injury late in the second quarter of the team's second preseason game against the Buffalo Bills on Sunday. He is expected to be placed on the Reserved/Injured list.

Link to storyCleveland Browns WR Isaiah Bond practiced for a second day on Wednesday, Aug. 20, according to a report by ESPN.com's Daniel Oyefusi. Bond signed a three-year contract worth $3.018 million last week after a grand jury cleared him of a sexual assault charge. 'Right now, the biggest thing, we're just trying to get him caught up. ... But I think he's a fast learner because yesterday he picked up on a lot of the things, a lot of the things that we threw at him,' Browns WR Jamari Thrash said.

Miami Dolphins TE Darren Waller (undisclosed) was activated from the Active/Physically Unable to Perform list Wednesday, Aug. 20, and he will practice for the first time.
Footballguys view: The Dolphins have a joint practice with the Jaguars on Thursday, so Waller should be out there. We don't yet know what his role will be and if Waller will be able to stay healthy for most of the year. At this time, Fantasy GMs should look at him as a TE2 with upside. |

New England Patriots S Kyle Dugger is on the trade block, but the Patriots might have to eat salary in order to move him, according to sources.

Seattle Seahawks RB Zach Charbonnet is going to have a significant role in the offense, in the opinion of beat writer Brady Henderson. RB Kenneth Walker III's ongoing availability issues and the way Charbonnet continues to impress the organization suggests that Seattle's backfield could be more of a timeshare than a typical starter-backup arrangement.
Footballguys view: Walker was limited during the offseason program because of an ankle injury and has been sidelined for much of camp with a sore foot. Charbonnet can play on all three downs and excel as a runner and receiver out of the backfield. Walker is RB16 right now and Charbonnet is RB38 in current ADP. Expect Walker's ADP to fall back and Charbonnet to come up a bit. |

Houston Texans WR Xavier Hutchinson has improved his receiving skills, and his role continues to increase with the team. He's a do-it-all type of player, and he has become one of QB C.J. Stroud's go-to targets on short and intermediate passes.

Houston Texans RB Nick Chubb looks like he regained some of his speed now that he's two years removed from a significant knee injury, in the opinion of beat writer Jonathan Alexander. He was breaking tackles and finding holes, which he has done his whole career.

Houston Texans RB Joe Mixon (ankle, foot) could land on the Physically Unable to Perform list and miss the first four games of the season, in the opinion of beat writer Jonathan Alexander.
Footballguys view: He hasn't been seen out at practice, nor has he worked off to the side, which would indicate he's not two to three weeks away from returning from the foot or ankle injury he suffered in the offseason. Nick Chubb will be the lead back for the Texans until Mixon is healthy which may last a month into the regular season. |

New York Jets QB Justin Fields is unlikely to play in the preseason finale on Friday, Aug. 22, per ESPN's Rich Cimini.

New England Patriots WR Javon Baker (undisclosed) has missed the last two practices and is not expected to play in the team's final preseason game, per ESPN's Mike Reiss.
Footballguys view: This is not good news for Baker as the Patriots are jam-packed at the wide receiver position. Baker is considered to be on the bubble for the team's 53-man roster. Perhaps the team would put Baker on the practice squad. |
Green Bay Packers DE Barryn Sorrell (knee) sustained a sprained knee against the Indianapolis Colts in the team's second preseason game. Sorrell does not believe he'll be out more than a few weeks, and it's unclear if he'll end up on the Reserve/Injured list.
