Ravens | Patrick Ricard's status uncertain Wed Sep 3, 03:23 PM
Baltimore Ravens FB Patrick Ricard (undisclosed) has been dealing with a soft tissue injury, and head coach John Harbaugh will not say if Ricard will be available for Week 1.
Link to storyFree-agent RB Damien Martinez (Seahawks) was signed to the Seattle Seahawks practice squad on Wednesday, Sept. 3.
Link to storyMiami Dolphins TE Darren Waller (undisclosed) will not participate in practice Wednesday, Sept. 3, but head coach Mike McDaniel said Waller has not suffered any setbacks.
Footballguys view: Waller is coming out of retirement, and there's no telling what his availability will be in Week 1. Fantasy GMs like the upside of Waller in what could be a fun passing game. However, Waller is only a low-end TE2 from a fantasy perspective unless/until he starts to pop. |

Dallas Cowboys DL Perrion Winfrey (back) did not practice all week and has been ruled out for Week 1 against the Philadelphia Eagles. CB Trevon Diggs (knee), OT Tyler Guyton (knee), and TE Brevyn Spann-Ford (ankle) practiced in full on Friday and no longer appear on the injury report.

Updating a previous report, New York Jets OG Alijah Vera-Tucker (biceps) is feared to have suffered a torn biceps during practice this week and is scheduled to receive a second opinion to see if he will need season-ending surgery, according to sources.

Green Bay Packers WR Jayden Reed (foot) missed practice on Wednesday, Sept. 3. According to The Athletic's Matt Schneidman, Reed's absence could be part of his rehab plan.

Green Bay Packers QB Jordan Love (thumb) is wearing a brace on his surgically repaired thumb, but he is taking snaps under center in practice on Wednesday, Sept. 3.

Green Bay Packers DE/LB Micah Parsons (back) is a question mark for Week 1, but head coach Matt LaFleur said the team is hopeful he plays. 'We'll see. He's doing everything in his power. Got to get through a couple practices to see how he responds, but certainly hopeful.'

Pittsburgh Steelers RB Jaylen Warren will be the team's 'featured runner,' according to head coach Mike Tomlin.
Footballguys view: Tomlin says we will see rookie RB Kaleb Johnson but at what time and to what degree will depend week-to-week. That means it's Warren as the lead back and main fantasy focus in the Steelers' backfield. With the lead role, we like Warren as a flex play against the Jets in Week 1. |
Jacksonville Jaguars WR/CB Travis Hunter is listed as a starting wide receiver on the team's initial depth chart ahead of the Week 1 game against the Carolina Panthers, while he is listed as a backup cornerback.
Footballguys view: Hunter is going to start on offense, and he's going to be a reserve on defense. That sounds about right as the Jaguars determine how much and how often the two-way star can play at the pro level. Fantasy GMs should see Hunter as a WR3/flex option. |
Buffalo Bills DE Joey Bosa has received occasional rest days, along with practice days off during training camp, as the team works to preserve his health. He has had a propensity for injury throughout his NFL career.
Footballguys view: The team plans to use him opposite DE Gregory Rousseau when the regular season starts, and the goal is to potentially limit his reps in season at times, preserving him for the postseason. He might be a 60-percent snap player in the regular season. |

Buffalo Bills TE Dalton Kincaid played 66 percent of the team's offensive snaps in 2024, when healthy. Beat writer Joe Buscaglia suggests, based on training camp workloads, that Kincaid's role is unlikely to grow more than that in 2025, especially since TE Dawson Knox is viewed as a more superior blocker in the run game, as is rookie TE Jackson Hawes.
Footballguys view: Kincaid is a talented TE2 with upside. QB Josh Allen is going to spread the ball around, but Kincaid should continue to be involved enough for Fantasy GMs to see him as a TE2 with upside. |

Buffalo Bills WR Khalil Shakir (ankle) suffered a high-ankle sprain in practice Aug. 1, but he returned to practice in the past week, and appears to be in good shape to play in the Week 1 game against the Baltimore Ravens. In fact, he could see his full role of 70-plus percent of offensive snaps.
Footballguys view: Shakir is a favorite of QB Josh Allen who can regularly help move the chains. A high-ankle sprain can linger, but it's been about a month of recovery time since he was initially injured. We like him as a WR4/deep flex play in PPR leagues. |
Buffalo Bills WR Keon Coleman reportedly made huge strides in training camp and the preseason, QB Josh Allen reportedly loves throwing to him, according to beat writer Joe Buscaglia, and the team is excited about his progress heading into the regular season.
Footballguys view: We're excited about Coleman entering his second season. Coleman has a big body and can create space by boxing out smaller defenders. From a fantasy perspective, Coleman is a WR4/deep flex play with upside to be a regular in your lineup. |
Houston Texans TE Dalton Schultz had his contract restructured his $36 million contract for salary-cap purposes Tuesday, Sept. 2. It was a simple conversion, and he'll make the same amount as his original deal, $11.508 million in 2025, but it goes into a signing bonus that lowered his salary-cap figure.

Cleveland Browns RB Jerome Ford is listed as the starter at running back on the team's depth chart.
Footballguys view: Ford is the starter over rookie Dylan Sampson, and Fantasy GMs need to take note. With QB Joe Flacco under center, Ford could get a lot of checkdown passes in addition to work as a runner. The situation is fluid, and things could change when Quinshon Judkins is available in the coming weeks. |
Baltimore Ravens TE Isaiah Likely (foot) is unlikely to play in Week 1 as he recovers from foot surgery.
Footballguys view: Mark Andrews is the lead tight end for the Ravens, but the entire fantasy community is excited about Likely's future. Even HC John Harbaugh is excited about Likely and believes All-Pro ability is there. Likely had surgery on August 1st and has been out of action since then. He's not on IR, so it seems like he should be available to come back before Week 4. |
New York Jets OG Alijah Vera-Tucker (undisclosed) suffered a potential serious injury and could miss significant time, according to sources.
Link to storyKansas City Chiefs WR Jalen Royals (knee) didn't travel with the team and has been ruled out for Week 1.
Footballguys view: No surprise here as the rookie fourth-round pick deals with his knee injury suffered last month. On Friday against the Chargers, the Chiefs will rely on Xavier Worthy, Marquise Brown, JuJu Smith-Schuster, and Tyquan Thornton. |
Dallas Cowboys FB Hunter Luepke received a two-year extension Wednesday, Sept. 3, worth up to $7.5 million.

Link to storyBuffalo Bills CB Christian Benford (undisclosed), the team's top cornerback, hasn't practiced since Aug. 21 due to an undisclosed injury. Link to storyJacory Croskey-Merritt is everyone's preseason darling. Well, except for on the Washington Commanders' official Week 1 RB depth chart. The Commanders put their unofficial list on Tuesday afternoon, and JCM was listed fourth. Ahead of him: Austin Ekeler, Jeremy McNichols, and Chris Rodriguez.
Footballguys view: That's not what was expected at all. Ekeler and Croskey-Merritt sat out the final preseason game while the other two played, suggesting they were set to lead a committee for the Commanders. Of course, these depth charts aren't always definitive. They're sometimes just a nod to veteran status, or a way to retain some competitive advantage. Remember, the Commanders traded away RB1 Brian Robinson Jr. to the 49ers. Is that something they'd do to clear the way for Ekeler to be their featured back? We'll be watching for more on this as the week plays out. |
San Francisco 49ers released WR Russell Gage Jr. on Tuesday, Sept. 2 from the 53-man roster, but the team plans to sign him to the practice squad if he does not sign elsewhere. He could still be elevated to the active roster for the Week 1 game against the Seattle Seahawks as long as he doesn't go to another organization.
