Kansas City Chiefs OT Josh Simmons (knee) is 'on schedule to be the starter' at left tackle to open the season, according to Adam Teicher of ESPN.com.
| Footballguys view: This would be a quite a boon for the Chiefs, who drafted Simmons in the first round even though he suffered a torn patellar tendon in his left knee in October. Simmons was considered to be possibly the best tackle in a very good class at the position, but fell to the end of the first because of the injury. He'll compete with Jaylon Moore, who the Chiefs signed away from the 49ers on a two-year, $30 million deal. |

| Footballguys view: Evans season was interrupted by a hamstring injury that cost him three games. This finish to 2024 should reassure you if you are considering Evans at or near his ADP of WR20 and 39 overall even though he'll turn 32 right before the season starts. Evans was WR10 last year in PPR leagues on a points per game basis, although he was WR21 when he and Chris Godwin went down in Week 7. |

He was a fantasy RB1 once the Bucs put him atop the depth chart, and both Irving and the offense can be better in 2025. There's still potential for Irving to surpass his current Footballguys ADP of RB9 and 21 overall. |

New Jaguars head coach Liam Coen accomplished that with Chris Godwin and Mike Evans last year in Tampa. Hunter is a rookie and didn't focus on wide receiver at Colorado. There's some skepticism about his early contributions, as he's falling to WR29 and 60 overall in the most recent Footballguys ADP, but Thomas is at WR8 and 14 overall. If you want him, you'll need to take him in the late first. |

New York Giants WR Wan'Dale Robinson said that he expects to move around more frequently in 2025, after he played in the slot position for 77.7 percent of his snaps during the 2024 season.
| Footballguys view: Robinson finished as WR44 in PPR leagues on a points per game basis last year, but he's going off of the board as WR68 this year. It doesn't seem like fantasy players believe he will reproduce his 93-catch 2024 season, perhaps in part because he was limited to very short passes that only resulted in 699 receiving yards. Robinson could surprise if the Giants turn to pass-happy backup Jameis Winston, or if first round pick Jaxson Dart takes over during the season and relies on Robinson frequently as a high percentage target. |

New York Giants WR Jalin Hyatt said that his playing weight was 170-171 pounds last year but estimated that he has added 25 pounds during the offseason, which should increase his strength but is not expected to compromise his speed. Hyatt is also hopeful of moving around more in the offensive scheme, after lining up out wide on 86 percent of his snaps and all of his targets in 2024.
| Footballguys view: Hyatt has reportedly had good chemistry with presumptive Week 1 starting quarterback Russell Wilson. His ability to get downfield behind his man and go up to win the ball was what set him apart at Tennessee, and it meshes well with Wilson's "moonball" deep shots. Hyatt is still behind Malik Nabers, Darius Slayton, and Wan'Dale Robinson for targets, but he could show physical and skill development this year to put himself back on the dynasty fantasy football radar after a quiet first two years following his selection in the third round of the 2023 draft. |

| Footballguys view: The team believes in Gabriel despite the limitations to his game, and Sanders has a great pure-passer skill set. It was an interesting approach to take both in the same draft, and that's a strategy that has worked before in various ways (Robert Griffin, Kirk Cousins anyone?). We think Joe Flacco begins the season as the starter, but there's a good chance that both Gabriel and Sanders see the field in 2025. This quarterback situation is a bit of a mess, so keep that in mind when considering all Browns skill position players for your fantasy team. |

Harrison has dynamic talent, and he could end up becoming one of the best wide receivers in the entire league. Currently, Harrison's ADP is WR18 (consensus) but he ability and opportunity will be there for him to outperform that position. If/when he hits, Harrison has WR1 set-it-and-forget-it potential every week....it's just a matter of when it all clicks for him. |

| Footballguys view: This is a situation to monitor during training camp and the preseason. Dobbins will split time with rookie second-round pick RJ Harvey in the Broncos backfield. Who is the lead back? That's uncertain right now, but we could see Dobbins getting a majority of the work early in the season. As Harvey proves himself in pass protection, the electric rookie back could shoulder more of the load. This is a two-headed RBBC where value could vary as the season goes on, plus Dobbins has missed more games than he's played in his pro career. At this time, both backs are flex plays with upside in a Sean Payton offense as he looks for his new Mark Ingram/Alvin Kamara combination. |

| Footballguys view: Anything is possible, and Burden is a talented player with the ball in his hands. He's a run-after-the-catch specialist who is tough to bring down in the open field. It will be interesting to see how the Bears use him in the new-look offense. Burden was sidelined through mandatory minicamp, but he'll be good to go for training camp and the preseason. Whether it's outside or from the slot, Burden gives HC Ben Johnson a versatile chess piece to attack defenses with. Burden is a depth piece right now with flex appeal in his rookie season. |

It should be a rinse-and-repeat program this year for Mayfield, and that's got the attention of Fantasy GMs. His 41 touchdowns and 4,500 passing yards helped make him the no.3 fantasy quarterback in 2024 (standard leagues). Mayfield is a low-end QB1 in 2025 with the ability to crack the top-5 again. |

Miami Dolphins TE Jonnu Smith posted 582 yards during the second half of the 2024 NFL season and caught seven of his eight touchdowns during those games.
| Footballguys view: Smith's second-half surge helped him snare 88 passes for 884 yards and eight touchdowns (all career highs). The Dolphins plan on getting the ball out quickly again with QB Tua Tagovailoa, and Smith is clearly a favorite target. However, the situation between the Dolphins and Smith remains fluid according to his agent Drew Rosenhaus. Smith missed minicamp as he seeks a long-term extension from the team. Deals get done at deadlines, and the start of training camp seems like a time something could happen (new contract? trade?). Stay tuned. |

He certainly flashed as a rookie early on, but Coleman must stay healthy and continue to develop in year two. We like him as a WR5 with deep flex appeal in 2025. |

| Footballguys view: Four games into his rookie season, Nix had four interceptions and one touchdown (which he threw in Week 4). Then, Nix started to take hold of the Sean Payton offense. The two are a great fit for each other, and that's the secret in the NFL. Payton made sure to get more weapons around Nix in year two like TE Evan Engram, RB JK Dobbins, and rookie RB RJ Harvey and WR Pat Bryant. Nix had one of the best rookie seasons in NFL history after the slow start, and his future looks even brighter in 2025. He's a low-end QB1 with upside. |

Los Angeles Rams QB Matthew Stafford completed only 41 percent of his passes inside the 10-yard line during the 2024 season.
| Footballguys view: The Rams got Stafford signed to a two-year extension earlier this offseason, and now they need to get the most from the veteran quarterback. He's not the elite-level passer he used to be, but Stafford is perfect for the Sean McVay offense full of Shanahan concepts (play-action, zone-blocking). Projecting him for around 4,000 yards passing with 24 touchdowns (and around 10 interceptions) seems right, and that makes him a QB2 for Fantasy GMs. |

Philadelphia Eagles RB Will Shipley is expected to be the primary pass catcher out of the backfield for the Eagles this upcoming season.
| Footballguys view: Shipley will take the role Kenneth Gainwell had last year if he can beat out AJ Dillon for the no.2 spot on the depth chart. The Eagles let Gainwell (Steelers) walk in free agency, and now Shipley will be the primary back who gives Saquon Barkley a breather. In that role, we could see Shipley getting around 100 carries and 15-20 catches on the season. If Barkley were to miss time, Shipley would step into a larger and much more fantasy-relevant role. |

| Footballguys view: Tracy will have to hold onto the ball after fumble problems derailed an otherwise very successful rookie year that saw Tracy overtake Devin Singletary in the Giants backfield. The team drafted Cam Skattebo in the fourth round, who could be a strong alternative if Tracy has another bout of fumblitis. Skattebo has had fumble issues of his own in college, so there's a wide range of outcomes of how this backfield will shake out. The relatively low current ADP of both Tracy and Skattebo in the 8th-9th round range accurately reflects the uncertainty. |

He wants to run more, will run more this year. Take that for what it's worth. ... I think his numbers will be closer to that 2020 season - both passing and rushing. I don't know if he'll ever get back to those rushing yards (819), but a good year for Kyler on the ground (in 2025) would 500-plus yards and five-plus touchdowns,' Venerable said.
| Footballguys view: Murray has said that his knee was bothering him at times last year even though it was almost two years removed from a 2022 ACL tear. He has been disappointing in fantasy leagues, but his ADP still reflects his previous demonstrated upside. A return to form as a runner would raise Murray's weekly ceiling and make his floor games and inconsistencies as a passer more tolerable. |

San Francisco 49ers CB Deommodore Lenoir was arrested in Los Angeles for obstruction of justice on Thursday, June 26. According to multiple reports, police approached a group of people and saw a gun in a parked car. When the driver was asked to his keys over, he threw the keys to Lenoir, who refused to allow the officers to have access to the car.
| Footballguys view: While this is a minor incident and probably would not result in a significant suspension, it is still worth noting after the 49ers and Lenoir agreed on a five-year, $92 million deal this offseason. He's been a quality starter for them and will be their #1 corner after Charvarius Ward signed with Indianapolis this offseason. |

'This kid, I mean, he is the closest thing I've seen to like a Trent Williams... like that next level strength and athleticism. The only reason he fell to you guys is because of that injury.'

| Footballguys view: Harvey also wrote that we shouldn't be surprised if Etienne "takes a bit of a backseat as a rusher as the team's running game and his receiving ability evolve". There has been talk that Etienne will be used more in space, which suits his skillset and traits better than running between the tackles. Etienne plummeting out of the top 100 overall in the latest Footballguys ADP may be an overreaction, but if this is a committee that includes roles for Tank Bigbsy and fourth round pick Bhayshul Tuten, it's also possible that no Jaguars running back will be consistent this season. |

He can be even better year two, as his performance slumped when he was banged up for a multi-game stretch in the middle of the season. The team also added a top-notch left tackle in Laremy Tunsil and a quality run after catch veteran in Deebo Samuel. | Footballguys view: Ford took a pay cut to $1.75 million, about half of what he was originally due on the last year of his rookie contract after a performance-based escalator kicked in. That lower number is fully guaranteed, so Ford is very likely to make the team and have a change of pace and passing down role. He probably won't matter to us in redraft leagues unless Judkins goes down. |

Valdes-Scantling is only of interest in very deep best ball and dynasty leagues, but he could help the offense function better if he forces opposing defenses to account for his long speed. |

New Orleans Saints QB Tyler Shough said he does not think things will affect him much during his rookie season because of the various things he had to deal with during his college career.
| Footballguys view: Shough played so long in college football that he tossed passes to Saints teammate TE Juwan Johnson at Oregon (and Johnson is entering year 5 of his NFL career). In addition to the Ducks, Shough also played at Texas Tech and finished his career at Louisville. After seven years in college, Shough only got 32 starts...mainly due to transferring and injuries. He's competing for the starting job in New Orleans, and with only Spencer Rattler (and Jake Haener) to beat out, he might be the favorite to win the job. |

Free-agent PK Justin Tucker (Ravens) was suspended by the NFL for the first 10 games of the 2025 season for violating the league's personal conduct policy on Thursday, June 26.
| Footballguys view: There were 16 massage therapists that accused Tucker of sexual misconduct, and the Ravens let their long-time kicker go back in May. The NFL investigated this situation for months, and they've decided to suspend him for over half the 2025 season. There is a chance some team adds him before training camp where Tucker could get work in the preseason. He will be eligible for reinstatement on Tuesday, November 11th. |

His skill as a pass-catcher is already known from his college tape, and Taylor should be used effectively in that role catching passes from QB Justin Fields. He's a TE2 as a rookie, but those who stream tight ends can look to Taylor for depth. |

| Footballguys view: We appreciate Walker in dynasty formats..and for good reason. A fourth-round pick out of North Carolina in the 2024 NFL Draft, Walker didn't do much as a rookie for the Ravens. He had only one catch, but it was for a 21-yard touchdown against the Giants. This offseason, reports indicate Walker has been working on learning the playbook to play with more confidence. The ball skills and body control are there for Walker to be a reliable target. We'll see him compete for a roster spot behind Rashod Bateman, DeAndre Hopkins, and Zay Flowers. |

Bowles enters his fourth year as the Bucs' head coach after leading the team to three consecutive NFC South titles from 2022-24. Licht is the NFL's fifth-longest tenured traditional general manager, entering his 12th season as the team's GM.
| Footballguys view: Bowles has a 27-24 record over the last three seasons, each time with a postseason run attached. The Buccaneers have won the NFC South each season, but they've yet to make a deep playoff run. Licht has done some solid work in the draft and free agency since they won a Super Bowl with Tom Brady. Now, with Baker Mayfield at quarterback, expect them to be division champs again with designs on making it at least to the Divisional Round. |

That's a fine asset and a double-edged sword for the rookie. Ward and the Titans have arguably the best defense in the league (Broncos) as their opponent in Week 1. Get ready for Pat Surtain and company to have plenty of opportunities against the rookie quarterback. |

If you're streaming quarterbacks, Fields is certainly an option you can get later in your drafts. |
