Footballguys view: As ESPN.com's Rich Cimini reminded readers, a year ago, the Jets wanted Corley so much that they traded up and selected him with the first pick in the third round of the 2024 NFL draft. As for the remaining fantasy values here, beyond Garrett Wilson, there's nothing to be too excited about in New York's wide receiver room. Josh Reynolds, Allen Lazard, Tyler Johnson, and fourth-round pick Arian Smith are in the mix for playing time, but Wilson, currently going as WR15 in Round 3, is the only viable fantasy asset in this wide-receiving corps.

Titans | Tyjae Spears to IR Tue Aug 26, 11:07 AM

Tennessee Titans RB Tyjae Spears (ankle) was placed on the Reserve/Injured list Tuesday, Aug. 26, with a high-ankle sprain and will miss the first four games.

Footballguys view: A third-round pick in the 2023 draft, Spears registered 536 yards from scrimmage and five touchdowns in 12 games last season. He has rushed for 765 yards with six touchdowns in 29 career games with two starts. Spears' injury hurts the Titans' depth at running back behind Tony Pollard. Remember, the plan heading into camp was a more even split between Pollard and Spears. We'll be watching to see if anybody claims that work. With cuts still to come, Tennessee's other running backs are Julius Chestnut, Jermar Jefferson, Jordan Mims, and Kalel Mullings.

Footballguys view: As The Sporting News suggested, it's a surprise based on name value and expectation, but not necessarily by performance. After stops with three teams last season, the Browns seemed as good a destination as any this offseason for Johnson. Their WR depth chart was relatively wide open behind Jerry Jeudy and Cedric Tillman. But the emergence of undrafted Gage Larvadain and the recent signing of Isaiah Bond, coupled with a solid preseason from Jamari Thrash, spelled the end for Johnson. And, as The Athletic's Zac Jackson wrote. "When you can't make this receiving corps, you might be out of chances."

Carolina Panthers WR Adam Thielen would still like to return to the Minnesota Vikings, and the two sides have tried to work on a trade. However, the two sides continue to struggle to agree on compensation.

Footballguys view: A Minnesota native and Minnesota State University product, Thielen spent the first 10 years of his NFL career with the Vikings. He signed with the Panthers on a three-year pact in 2023. He's gone on to lead the team in receiving in both of his first two campaigns in Carolina, and was given a pay raise for his third back in March. Still, it sounds like a return to Minnesota is still in play. We'll continue to watch for more.

Tennessee Titans WR Calvin Ridley (undisclosed) has missed time in training camp in recent weeks, but coach Brian Callahan feels he is on pace for return prior to Week 1 against the Denver Broncos.

Footballguys view: Ridley sat out the final two preseason games while battling some soreness. As Footballguy Jason Wood notes, Ridley isn't without his flaws, but his ADP puts him as a middling WR3 when the reality is he'll see a massive target share from his rookie quarterback and is the only proven playmaker in the receiving corps.

Titans | Tyjae Spears still using scooter Tue Aug 26, 01:09 AM

Tennessee Titans RB Tyjae Spears (ankle) is still recovering from a high-ankle sprain suffered about two weeks ago, and he continues to use a safety boot and a scooter to move around.

Footballguys view: Relegated in his rookie season to backing up Derrick Henry and giving him breathers on passing downs, Footballguy Sam Wagman notes that Spears didn't get to show his full range of talents that had him drafted on Day 2 of the NFL Draft, but once healthy, he should get that chance this season. Spears and Tony Pollard will helm the new-look Titans' backfield. But Spears, who has gotten consistent positive buzz all preseason according to our Footballguys Preseason Reports, will have plenty of opportunities to show his skills.

The Las Vegas Raiders acquired QB Kenny Pickett from the Cleveland Browns on Monday, Aug. 25 in exchange for a fifth-round pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. Pickett is expected to serve as the primary backup to QB Geno Smith after QB Aidan O'Connell suffered a fractured wrist over the weekend.

Footballguys view: Pickett has been involved in a four-man race for the starting job in Cleveland this preseason, though the Browns opted to tab veteran Joe Flacco as their starting quarterback. Flacco beat out Pickett, who dealt with a minor hamstring injury early on, Dillon Gabriel, and Shedeur Sanders for the job. Pickett, a first-round pick in 2022, originally was traded by the Steelers to the Eagles. In March, the Eagles traded him to the Browns for quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson and a fifth-round pick.
