Washington Commanders QB Jayden Daniels (elbow) avoided ligament damage in his dislocated elbow and won't require surgery. The team will avoid placing him on the Reserve/Injured list.
| Footballguys view: Considering how gruesome the injury looked in real-time, it's reassuring that we've received nothing but positive news since then. The X-rays came back negative earlier in the week. Dan Quinn said the team would reevaluate his status after their Week 12 bye. At 3-6, Daniels' availability will likely be tied to the team's success over the next two matchups. If they can beat the Lions and Dolphins and head into the bye 5-6, there's plenty of reason to go back to Daniels for a late-season push. If they fall to 3-8, it's less likely that we see him return. And if they split the next two weeks and sit at 4-7, they may err on the side of caution. For fantasy managers, we can't recommend dropping Daniels. You've just got to hold him for the next few weeks and hope he can return in Week 13. Marcus Mariota will continue to start in Daniels' absence. |
