Link to storyWashington Commanders QB Marcus Mariota (leg) was unable to play in the preseason opener against the New England Patriots, and he did not practice Sunday, Aug. 10. Still, all indications are the team has low concern, and it is believed to be a short-term issue.

Link to storyGreen Bay Packers WR Jayden Reed (foot) was in a walking boot Saturday, Aug. 9, and he didn't specify if the injury he suffered this past week is serious. 'I don't wanna be wrong about anything,' Reed said. 'So, I ain't gonna be the one to say.'
Footballguys view: The Packers medical staff is generally conservative on players returning from injury. so this could affect Reed's availability for Week 1. While Reed is out, we would expect first round pick Matthew Golden and possession receiver Romeo Doubs to be in two wide receiver sets after Reed was getting mixed in this summer. Previously, Reed was not on the field for two wide receiver sets, and this could be a setback to his push to have a larger role. |

Miami Dolphins WR Tahj Washington posted three catches for a game-high 53 yards on four targets in the preseason opener against the Chicago Bears Sunday, Aug. 10. WRs Tyreek Hill, Jaylen Waddle and Nick Westbrook-Ikhine are the top three wideouts, with Malik Washington, Dee Eskridge and Erik Ezukanma believed to be in the mix for the No. 4 job. Washington might have tossed his hat into the ring for the top-four job, however. He is a player worth monitoring.
Link to storyMiami Dolphins QB Zach Wilson completed 5-of-9 passes for 96 yards, no touchdowns and no interceptions in the preseason opener against the Chicago Bears Sunday, Aug. 10, and he ran twice for 16 yards. He appears to have the leg up for the primary backup job to QB Tua Tagovailoa, especially since rookie QB Quinn Ewers had a rough showing in his preseason debut.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB Rachaad White (groin) suffered a groin injury during the preseason game Saturday, Aug. 9, and will not return.
Footballguys view: White is going to miss at least a few weeks, and he is undergoing additional testing. The team really likes third string back Sean Tucker and they should feel comfortable with him as the #2 back going into the season if White's injury will sideline him into the regular season. This could also boost the early season ceiling for Bucky Irving, who has been working on pass protection this offseason. |
Minnesota Vikings RB Jordan Mason rushed for 20 yards on four carries in the preseason game against the Houston Texans Saturday, Aug. 9.
Footballguys view: Mason played one drive with the starters and the good news is that he stayed in on third down. While Aaron Jones is likely to be in for passing situations, Mason getting some third down reps gives him more contingent upside if Jones misses time. |
New York Giants RB Tyrone Tracy Jr. rushed for nine yards on three carries in the preseason game against the Buffalo Bills Saturday, Aug. 9. He also caught two passes for seven yards during the game.
Footballguys view: It looks like Tracy will be the lead back for the Giants going into the season opener at Washington. Fourth round pick Cam Skattebo has been sidelined wit a hamstring injury, but according to ESPN's Jordan Raanan, there was never really a competition between the twp for the lead back job. |
Minnesota Vikings WR Rondale Moore (undisclosed) was carted off the field after suffering an undisclosed injury during the preseason game Saturday, Aug. 9.
Footballguys view: Moore suffered a knee injury that has been described as "significant" and potentially season-threatening. He was in line to get some snaps in three and four wide receiver sets, but it sounds like this is going to delay that. Third round pick Tai Felton could get some more looks in practice and the preseason with Moore on the shelf. |

Miami Dolphins RB De'Von Achane ran three times for 22 yards in the preseason opener against the Chicago Bears on Sunday, Aug. 10, and he was not targeted in the passing game.
Link to storyMiami Dolphins QB Quinn Ewers completed just 5-of-18 passes for 91 yards, no touchdowns and interceptions in the preseason opener against the Chicago Bears Sunday, Aug. 10, and he was sacked twice with two fumbles lost. Ewers also missed an uncovered receiver on a play, checking down instead, and it ended up getting resulting in a head injury for RB Alexander Mattison. Ewers is well behind QBs Tua Tagovailoa and Zach Wilson on the depth chart at this point.
Link to storyMiami Dolphins RB Ollie Gordon II rushed eight times for a game-high 33 yards and a touchdown in the preseason game against the Chicago Bears Sunday, Aug. 10. He also had a 39-yard catch and scamper on his only reception on three targets.
Link to storyMiami Dolphins RB Alexander Mattison (head) left the preseason opener Sunday, Aug. 10 against the Chicago Bears due to an apparent head injury. He left the field under his own power, and he headed straight to the locker room.

Miami Dolphins FS Elijah Campbell (knee) suffered an apparent right knee injury in the preseason game against the Chicago Bears Sunday, Aug. 10. Trainers appeared to administer a stability test before he was able to get up and limp off under his own power.
Link to storyUpdating a previous report, New England Patriots RB Lan Larison (foot) landed on the Reserve/Injured list due to a foot injury suffered in the preseason opener against the Washington Commanders. He ran seven times for 35 yards and a touchdown in the preseason opener, while also hauling in two receptions for nine yards on his two targets.
Link to storyChicago Bears RB Travis Homer (calf) left the preseason game againts the Miami Dolphins Sunday, Aug. 10 due to a calf injury. He is challenging for a roster spot, but believed to be behind starter RB D'Andre Swift, backup RB Roschon Johnson and rookie RB Kyle Monangai.

Chicago Bears CB Terell Smith (groin) left the preseason opener Sunday, Aug. 10 against the Miami Dolphins due to a groin injury.
Link to storySeattle Seahawks C Olu Oluwatimi (back) missed practice again Sunday, Aug. 10, and he has been sidelined for the past week. He is penciled in as the starting center in Seattle, but C Jalen Sundell is competing for the job, and getting valuable time in practice and preseason games to show his worth.
Link to storySeattle Seahawks RB Kenneth Walker III (foot) did not practice Sunday, Aug. 10. The coaches didn't provide any updates, but he missed time in training camp earlier due to a foot injury, so it might be related.
Footballguys view: It's not time to get worried about Walker yet, but he has always had trouble staying healthy. If you do take Walker at or near his ADP, it's a good idea to take Zach Charbonnet as one of the first backup running backs off of the board. Charbonnet actually outscored Walker on a points per game basis when only looking at starts for the two backs, and together, they were a strong RB1 last year. With new offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak heading up the running game, they could be even better this year. |
New York Giants RB Cam Skattebo (hamstring) was unable to make his preseason debut due to a hamstring injury. He remains listed behind starter RB Tyrone Tracy Jr. and veteran journeyman RB Devin Singletary on the team's first initial preseason depth chart.
