Link to storyLos Angeles Chargers RBs Hassan Haskins, Nyheim Hines, Raheim Sanders and Kimani Vidal continue to vie for the third-string running back job behind RBs Najee Harris and rookie Omarion Hampton. Offensive coordinator Greg Roman said Tuesday, Aug. 12, that the race is 'wide open.'

Los Angeles Chargers RB Najee Harris (eye) was able to run and participate in drills with a football Tuesday, Aug. 12, for the first time during training camp. He was working off to the side with an athletic trainer during the team practice. His agent reiterated that Harris is expected to be ready for the regular season.
Footballguys view: The progression to running and doing football drills at practice is a positive sign for Harris. A picture posted to Harris' Snapchat on Aug. 6 showed him with his left eye completely shut. Head coach Jim Harbaugh said last Friday, however, that Harris can open his eye. Meanwhile, offensive coordinator Greg Roman said that even if Harris isn't back for Week 1, rookie Omarion Hampton will rotate with another running back. Kimani Vidal, Raheim Sanders, Hassan Haskins, and Nyheim Miller-Hines are the players vying for that third-team spot. |

Los Angeles Chargers OT Mekhi Becton (undisclosed) did not practice again Tuesday, Aug. 12, although he worked out in the weight room. He hasn't practiced in two full weeks due to an undisclosed injury. Offensive coordinator Greg Roman is hopeful Becton will be ready for Week 1.
Link to storyLos Angeles Chargers WR Ladd McConkey (undisclosed) was able to take part in 11-on-11 drills in practice Tuesday, Aug. 12. 'I feel like I'm there now,' McConkey said about his undisclosed injury. 'It's just about building everything back up...getting my conditioning back to where it needs to be.'

Updating a previous report, Pittsburgh Steelers WR Calvin Austin (abdominal) is dealing with a minor abdominal injury, a source said Tuesday, Aug. 12.
Link to storyWashington Commanders RB Jacory Croskey-Merritt (shoulder) suffered what is being termed a minor injury in the preseason opener against the New England Patriots, but it was enough to hold him out of a scrimmage Tuesday, Aug. 12 as a precaution.
Link to storySeattle Seahawks NT Johnathan Hankins (back) hasn't practice at all during training camp, and he continues to nurse a back injury. Head coach Mike Macdonald said Tuesday, Aug. 12 that he doesn't know when the veteran will return to the practice field, but Hankins is in camp and meetings each day.

Seattle Seahawks C Olu Oluwatimi (back) missed practice again Tuesday, Aug. 12, and he has sat for four of the past five sessions. In the one day he did practice, he left early due to tightness in his back. Head coach Mike Macdonald said Tuesday that he doesn't feel the starting center had a setback, but he is uncertain for the team's dress rehearsal preseason game against the Kansas City Chiefs Friday, Aug. 15.
Link to storySeattle Seahawks RB Kenneth Walker III (foot) has been getting every other day off during training camp lately. He was battling a sore foot during the first few days of August, and he has since return to full participation when he does practice. He has alternated days off since. Head coach Mike Macdonald said Tuesday, Aug. 12, that Walker is fine for the regular-season opener.
Footballguys view: As noted in a previous item, fantasy investors shouldn't expect to see much of Walker until Week 1, which adds some uncertainty for a player being drafted as RB16 in Round 4. Nonetheless, that matches his Footballguys projection and anticipated role in Seattle's offense. Now, Walker needs to be healthy enough to handle it. |
Houston Texans RB Nick Chubb (head) practiced Tuesday, Aug. 12, and he shed his non-contact jersey, having moved through concussion protocol.

Chicago Bears WR John Jackson was waived Tuesday, Aug. 12.
Link to storyAtlanta Falcons head coach Raheem Morris said he is happy about the medical reports he is receiving on WR Darnell Mooney (shoulder) but does not know when Mooney will be able to return to the field.
Footballguys view: Expectations immediately after Mooney's injury were that he could be back for the season opener. But as we get closer to kickoff, he's still recovering. Casey Washington has been filling in for Mooney in camp, and might warrant some early-season flex consideration if Mooney has to miss an extended period of time. |

Dallas Cowboys RB Jaydon Blue (ankle, heel) is not participating in practice Tuesday, Aug. 12.
Footballguys view: Although Miles Sanders returned to practice, Blue is still on the mend. It's essential that rookies receive as many reps as possible during the preseason, so his absence is frustrating. He'll hope to return soon, as every day he misses impacts his likelihood of a rookie-season breakout. |
Dallas Cowboys RB Miles Sanders (knee) is participating in practice Tuesday, Aug. 12.
Footballguys view: After Sanders missed most of last week, Javonte Williams served as the team's primary running back in practice. Reports before Sanders' injury were that he looked better than Williams. We'll keep a close eye on how touches are being split up in camp in an attempt to decipher this murky backfield. |

Denver Broncos WR A.T. Perry (undisclosed) has been cleared to participate in individual drills, according to head coach Sean Payton.
Footballguys view: Perry was a buzzy rookie who lost his sophomore campaign to injuries, eventually getting released midseason. He's working on a comeback in 2025, but this Broncos team is already flush with offensive weapons. |

Houston Texans TE Irv Smith (hand) is not participating in practice Tuesday, Aug. 12.
Footballguys view: With Brevin Jordan on season-ending IR, Smith will have a chance to win the backup job behind Dalton Schultz. Cade Stover and rookie Luke Lachey are also vying for that role. However, a deep wide receiver room makes it very unlikely that the backup tight end will see meaningful opportunities in the Houston passing game. |

Tennessee Titans QB Brandon Allen (shin) left practice early Tuesday, Aug. 12, because a shin laceration that required stitches.
Footballguys view: With Will Levis hitting season-ending IR after a shoulder surgery, Allen is poised to be the primary backup behind rookie Cam Ward. Expect Allen to get stitched up and return to the practice field soon in a non-contact jersey. |

New York Jets QB Tyrod Taylor (knee) recently underwent a knee procedure and will miss the rest of the preseason. Head coach Aaron Glenn said the team hopes Taylor will be available for Week 1.
Footballguys view: The path is cleared for Justin Fields to be the Jets' QB1 this year. While expected already, this confirms what we already knew. The Jets' staff has expressed faith in Fields, who has desirable rushing upside for fantasy purposes. |
Tyrod Taylor player page
Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB Michael Pratt (back) was waived/injured Tuesday, Aug. 12.
Footballguys view: Pratt was a seventh-rounder in last year's draft who lost the battle for the backup role to Malik Willis in Green Bay. This year, he's the odd man out in a fight between Kyle Trask and Teddy Bridgewater. |
Miami Dolphins TE Darren Waller (undisclosed) will not participate in practice this week, according to head coach Mike McDaniel.

Miami Dolphins WR Jaylen Waddle (undisclosed) is considered day-to-day but may be able to take part in the joint practice with the Detroit Lions this week, according to head coach Mike McDaniel.
Footballguys view: Like Tyreek Hill, Waddle is likely getting vet treatment as training camp continues. There's little cause for concern unless his absence carries into next week. |

Miami Dolphins WR Tyreek Hill (oblique) is considered day-to-day because of his injury but may be able to participate in the joint practice with the Detroit Lions this week, according to head coach Mike McDaniel.
Footballguys view: Luckily, Hill's injury doesn't sound serious. He's likely receiving some preferential treatment as a highly paid vet. If he's able to return by the end of the week, there won't be any concern. But if this injury carries into next week, we'll take note. |

Updating a previous report, New York Jets WR Allen Lazard (shoulder) is set to miss a 'couple of weeks', according to The Athletic's Zack Rosenblatt. He suffered the injury against the Green Bay Packers on Aug. 9.
Footballguys view: Lazard is very useful as a blocker, but his best season came a few years ago on a depleted Packers team, where he served as Aaron Rodgers' de facto WR1. On what's expected to be a run-first Jets team, it's hard to envision any meaningful production coming from Lazard this year even when he does return. |
Miami Dolphins RB Alexander Mattison (neck) will miss the 2025 season because of his neck surgery, but head coach Mike McDaniel said the injury is not career-ending.
Footballguys view: Mattison was having a strong camp and profiled to take some of the goal-line work for Miami. With him missing the season, rookie Ollie Gordon II may have a chance to carve out that potentially valuable role. Gordon is 6'1" and 226 pounds with a bruising playstyle. He's worth consideration as a final round pick in your fantasy drafts. |

Los Angeles Rams QB Matthew Stafford (back) is not participating in practice Tuesday, Aug. 12.
Footballguys view: After expectations were set for a Monday return, Stafford is now officially behind schedule. The Rams' staff remains steadfast in the belief that he'll be back soon. But fantasy managers who planned to invest early picks in Puka Nacua, Davante Adams, and Kyren Williams wouldn't be blamed for looking elsewhere at this point. |

Houston Texans TE Brevin Jordan (knee) was placed on the Reserve/Injured list Tuesday, Aug. 12.
Footballguys view: Jordan is a tweener tight end who struggled to find a consistent role in the NFL. He'll hope to return in 2026, but a path to fantasy relevance could be arduous. |

San Francisco 49ers WR Jacob Cowing (hamstring) returned to practice on Tuesday, August 12.
Footballguys view: The 49ers' wide receiver corps has been plagued with injuries all offseason, but Cowing's return should inspire some hope. Cowing's speed and YAC abilities put him on the deep sleeper radar last year. But a modest season cooled excitement about a Year 2 breakout. However, given the state of the 49ers' receivers at the moment, Cowing makes for a decent stash in dynasty leagues. |
Free-agent RB Tyrion Davis-Price (Titans) agreed to terms with the Green Bay Packers Tuesday, Aug. 12. Terms of the contract were not disclosed.
Footballguys view: While the immediate takeaway from this transaction could be an indictment of MarShawn Lloyd, he returned to practice on Monday, calming some concerns. Davis-Price had decent production at LSU but has yet to find his footing in the NFL. After two years in San Francisco and a season in Philadelphia, Davis-Price will hope to make the roster in 2025 as the Packers' RB3. |
Green Bay Packers WR Christian Watson (knee) is ahead of schedule in his recovery but will likely start the regular season on the Reserve/Physically Unable to Perform list, according to general manager Brian Gutekunst.
Footballguys view: There was talk this offseason that Watson could make his return around the middle of the season, but the wideout might get back a little sooner than that. Watson would have to miss the first four games of the year if he's on the PUP list after the cut to 53 players, but he could be activated at any point after that, and that makes a return in the first half a realistic timeline in Green Bay. Meanwhile, rookie Matthew Golden is working hard to fill the field-stretching role a healthy Watson would have played in this offense. |
Cleveland Browns WR Chase Cota was waived Tuesday, Aug. 12.
Link to storyCincinnati Bengals WR Jermaine Burton (undisclosed) is dealing with some swelling and will work on the side during practice Tuesday, Aug. 12, according to head coach Zac Taylor.

Free-agent WR Kelly Akharaiyi (Bills) signed with the Arizona Cardinals Tuesday, Aug. 12. Terms of the contract were not disclosed. The team also placed WR Trishton Jackson (thumb) on the Reserve/Injured list.

Updating previous reports, Houston Texans TE Brevin Jordan (knee) is out for the season. It's the same knee he tore his ACL in last season, but the official injury has not been disclosed yet.
Footballguys view: Jordan had just recovered from a torn ACL suffered early in the 2024 season. In four seasons with the Texans, Jordan has caught 53 passes for 532 yards with five touchdowns. Dalton Schultz and Cade Stover are the top TEs on the roster, ahead of Irv Smith Jr., Luke Lachey, and Dalton Keene. |
