Bills | McDermott not considering Daboll to get Josh Allen on track Tue Nov 11, 03:03 PM
Buffalo Bills coach Sean McDermott said Monday he is "fully confident" in offensive coordinator Joe Brady and his staff following a blowout 30-10 loss to the Miami Dolphins on Sunday. McDermott was also asked if he was committed to Brady as his offensive coordinator for the rest of the season, to which he replied: "Yes."
Footballguys view: The Bills' lackluster performance came a day before the Giants fired coach Brian Daboll, who served as Buffalo's offensive coordinator for the first four years of Josh Allen's career (2018-21). When asked Monday about Daboll being fired and if he would consider reaching out to him, McDermott said, "Brian's a great coach. Unfortunate to see that happen to him. At this point, that's not under any type of consideration." The Bills went scoreless for the first three quarters against Miami, only the third time that has happened since Allen was drafted in 2018. Buffalo plays the Buccaneers in Week 11.

On the heels of Aaron Rodgers' worst game as a Steeler, coach Mike Tomlin said he doesn't have any "long-term reservations" about the quarterback's ability to play the position "at a high level."
Footballguys view: Rodgers threw one touchdown and two interceptions in Sunday night's 25-10 loss and completed just 52.6% of his attempts, marking his lowest completion percentage over the past five seasons. Rodgers also took three sacks against the Chargers, including one in the end zone for a safety in the first half. "I'm not going to chalk it up to an off night, but there are no long-term concerns," Tomlin said. Just three weeks earlier, Rodgers threw for a season-high 249 yards and four touchdowns with two interceptions against the Bengals, who the Steelers host again this week. So there's hope.

While the Bengals have lost three of the four games Joe Flacco has started for them, the team's offense has been humming with the 40-year-old quarterback. Having returned to practice on Monday, starting quarterback Joe Burrow shared his positive impressions of Flacco since the veteran arrived just over a month ago. "He's playing great," Burrow said. "He's putting the ball where it needs to go. He's been accurate with it, getting the ball out. The O-line has been playing great. We've been running the ball really well over these last couple of weeks. That's been exciting to see. And, obviously, our guys on the outside are making plays like they always do."
Footballguys view: In his four starts with Cincinnati, Flacco has completed 65.7 percent of his passes for 1,254 yards with 11 touchdowns and two interceptions. Over that same span -- from Weeks 6 through 9, Flacco was the QB3 in fantasy, scoring an average of 24.4 points per game. With the Bengals coming off their Week 10 bye, managers invested in Flacco might be wise to invest a roster spot in Flacco. The Bengals have a favorable schedule down the stretch, and with clarity on when Burrow will return, having both would be a solid option heading into your fantasy playoff.

New England Patriots WR Brenden Rice was released by the Patriots on Tuesday, Nov. 11.

Link to storyPittsburgh Steelers RB Jaylen Warren getting more touches is something head coach Mike Tomlin said he'd like to do. Tomlin said he's comfortable with Warren and RB Kenneth Gainwell on third down, but Warren has been getting a break on third downs. 'We win more third downs, Jaylen [Warren] will get more touches,' Tomlin said.
Footballguys view: They're likely to win more third downs this week, going up against a Bengals defense that has surrendered the most fantasy points per game to opposing running backs (33). Warren produced a season-high 19.8 fantasy points against the Bengals back in Week 7. As SI.com notes, it was the only time all year that Warren eclipsed the century mark, finishing with 127 rushing yards on 16 carries while chipping in with four receptions for an additional 31 yards through the air. He's primed for another strong performance this weekend.

Cleveland Browns QB Deshaun Watson (Achilles) won't have his practice window opened this week, according to a source.
Footballguys view: According to SI.com, Watson has been rehabbing his twice-ruptured Achilles tendon and is getting closer to being medically cleared. Still, when Stefanski was asked on Monday about opening his 21-day practice window, he was noncommittal. "I'm not sure if that's what we're doing," the coach said. That non-answer is notable because it calls into question who makes these decisions within the organization. Watson has played just 19 games for the Browns since he arrived in 2022. Meanwhile, the Browns are 2-7, rookie Dillon Gabriel is the starting quarterback, and the long-term future of the position is up in the air.

Link to storyCincinnati Bengals QB Joe Burrow (toe) said he would like to be able to return to the lineup for the team's Week 13 game against the Baltimore Ravens.
Footballguys view: Burrow said that it will be very meaningful if he can return for the Thanksgiving Day game on Nov. 27. He officially returned to practice Monday in a limited capacity as the team opened his 21-day window to return from injured reserve. "We'll see how these next couple weeks go," Burrow said in his first news conference since the injury. "There's a lot that goes into it. There are a lot of variables that you have to consider." The Bengals record will be part of that equation. Joe Flacco will remain the starter for now.

Green Bay Packers RB Emanuel Wilson ran the ball once for two yards against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 10. He added a two-yard reception.
Link to storySan Francisco 49ers WR Ricky Pearsall (knee) hopefully will be able to participate in practice Wednesday, Nov. 12, according to head coach Kyle Shanahan.
Footballguys view: Pearsall injured his knee against the Jaguars, and to this point, he hasn't hit his speed baselines when running on a side field. "Hopefully the next two days go good, and if they do, then he'll be back out there," Shanahan said. "He had a good weekend." We'll be monitoring Pearsall's participation in coming days.
San Francisco 49ers WR Brandon Aiyuk (knee) will not have his 21-day practice window opened this week, according to head coach Kyle Shanahan.
Footballguys view: Aiyuk continues to recover from the ACL and MCL injuries he suffered last season, and his return remains on hold. Remember, if a player's 21-day practice window is open and he isn't activated in that three week span, the player reverts back to season-ending IR. We'll continue to watch for more.

San Francisco 49ers QB Brock Purdy (toe) will be more involved in practices this week, according to head coach Kyle Shanahan.
Footballguys view: The 49ers will continue to increase Purdy's practice snaps this week, but Shanahan stopped short of declaring him the starter for Sunday's game against the Cardinals. He said he wanted Purdy to practice in full over an extended period, something he hasn't done since aggravating his toe injury during the Week 4 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars. We'll be following Purdy's progress closely this week.
New England Patriots WR Kayshon Boutte (hamstring) was limited during practice Monday, Nov. 10. The Patriots did not hold a practice Monday, so this is an estimation.
Footballguys view: The receiver left the team's win over Atlanta due to a hamstring injury and didn't practice last week. Boutte is second on the Patriots in receiving yards and first in receiving touchdowns. Participation in a walkthrough doesn't mean that the Patriots will get Boutte back, but it is a positive sign to see him back on the practice field. Stay tuned for more.

New England Patriots RB TreVeyon Henderson (knee) was limited during practice Monday, Nov. 10. The Patriots did not hold a practice Monday, so this is an estimation.
Footballguys view: Henderson is coming off the best game of his career, so this might be as much maintenance as anything. Due to the short week, the Patriots will hold one practice Tuesday before their very quick turnaround against the Jets. We'll have more on all New England's injured skill players after today's session.
New England Patriots RB Rhamondre Stevenson (toe) was limited during practice Monday, Nov. 10. The Patriots did not hold a practice Monday, so this is an estimation.
Footballguys view: With a Thursday night matchup against the New York Jets on deck, the Patriots held a walkthrough on Monday instead of a full practice, but still released an injury report. This marks the first time Stevenson has practiced in two weeks since suffering the toe injury. The veteran running back has missed the team's last two games against Atlanta and Tampa Bay. We'll see if Stevenson can hit the field for Tuesday's session. Stay tuned.
