Link to storyUpdating previous reports, Kansas City Chiefs WR Xavier Worthy (shoulder) will undergo an MRI exam on his injured right shoulder when the team returns home from Brazil, according to head coach Andy Reid.
Footballguys view: Things didn't look great for Worthy after Travis Kelce ran into him on a pick play Friday night. We'll know more about this injury after the MRI is done. With Worthy potentially out of action with a shoulder problem and Rashee Rice suspended for five more games, the Chiefs will lean on Hollywood Brown and Kelce in their passing game. In addition, Tyquan Thornton has speed and could be used on some plays that mainly go to Worthy. |
Dallas Cowboys QB Dak Prescott is not expected to face any discipline from the National Football League for his role in a spitting incident with Philadelphia Eagles DT Jalen Carter Thursday, Sept. 4.
Footballguys view: Prescott tried to sell the story that he spits all over the place all the time and that he was not aiming towards Carter or any Eagles player. While that's difficult to believe, the NFL cannot rule on Prescott's intentions. |

49ers WR Jauan Jennings practiced in full and did not have an injury designation going into the Week 1 game at Seattle. Head coach Kyle Shanahan said he was confident in Jennings and that the receiver "got better and better" as the week went on.
Footballguys view: Jennings could play his full complement of snaps and get enough targets to be a viable WR3/Flex play after missing most of the summer. Ricky Pearsall probably still has more upside this week, but both are suitable plays despite the tough matchup. |

Christian McCaffrey worked off to the side at practice on Friday and was officially listed as missing practice and questionable with a calf injury. He met with the media and said the absence was more precautionary than anything else and that he "feels great" and is focused on the game vs. Seattle on Sunday. Head coach Kyle Shanahan would only say "it's questionable, a questionable concern" about McCaffrey, adding that he wasn't going to comment on injuries.
Footballguys view: McCaffrey's media availability is a seemingly good sign for his Week 1 status, but we forgive you if you are skeptical after what happened last year. Brian Robinson is the clear backup and would be an RB2/Flex if McCaffrey is a scratch. See if you have a back from any of the late or night game teams (there are 12) as an injury hedge. If not, you might be able to move McCaffrey to flex and also have access to receivers from those teams to replace him the event that he is inactive. |

DE Dorance Armstrong (knee), PK Matt Gay (illness) and QB Marcus Mariota (Achilles) fully participated in practice and are not on the injury report.
Footballguys view: Brown has been sidelined for months with a knee injury that the team hasn't said much about, but it sounds like he'll be ready to go for the season opener. This doesn't change the outlook of Deebo Samuel or Terry McLaurin, but it could help Jayden Daniels. |
