Steelers | Pittsburgh kicking the tires on Kyle Pitts trade? Fri Jun 6, 02:28 PM
Atlanta Falcons TE Kyle Pitts was reportedly the subject of a phone call between the Falcons and Pittsburgh Steelers recently, according to NFL Media's Ian Rapoport.
Footballguys view: It sounds like teams are interested in acquiring Pitts, but only on the cheap, which the Falcons reportedly are not willing to do. Pitts value is still at rock bottom in both redraft and dynasty, and a trade to the Steelers wouldn't be good for his fantasy prospects. We'll see if any other former Arthur Smith players are the subject of trade speculation for the Steelers this summer as they try to bolster the passing game for new quarterback Aaron Rodgers. |

Tennessee Titans fourth-round draft choice WR Chimere Dike (Florida) signed his four-year rookie contract on Friday, June 6. Financial terms of the deal were not immediately disclosed.
Footballguys view: Dike and fellow fourth round pick Elic Ayomanor both drew positive reviews in OTAs. Their main competition for playing time is veteran Tyler Lockett, who was signed to a one-year, $4 million deal. It wouldn't be surprising to see one or both of them play ahead of Lockett by the end of the season. Dike's speed should be a welcome addition to the wide receiver room. |
New York Giants QB Russell Wilson 'definitely is the leader' of the quarterback room, according to WR Wan'Dale Robinson via ESPN.com's Jordan Raanan.

Indianapolis Colts QB Anthony Richardson (shoulder) is dealing with merely soreness and inflammation after imaging tests revealed that his shoulder is structurally sound, according to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler.
Footballguys view: This is a small consolation. If Richardson isn't 100% to begin camp, or if the shoulder soreness affects his practice performance, he's almost sure to lose out to Daniel Jones. Richardson's value is as low as it has ever been in redraft and dynasty leagues. |

Los Angeles Rams WR Puke Nacua said he has already felt a 'positive impact' from WR Davante Adams, and Adams has been helping Nacua diversify his releases off the line.
Footballguys view: Adams and Nacua can both be WR1s for fantasy, and Nacua's value can increase in year three even with Adams representing an upgrade from Cooper Kupp. The Rams offense should be better this year if Nacua can stay on the field. They'll also get a full speed Tyler Higbee back after he contributed late last year coming off of an ACL tear. |

Indianapolis Colts WR Michael Pittman Jr. (knee) has a sore knee after colliding with a teammate Thursday, June 6. The injury isn't considered serious, but he is expected to held out of minicamp.
Footballguys view: As sad as it is for Anthony Richardson's career arc, the latest news that Richardson (shoulder) may not be ready for camp is good for Pittman's fantasy value. Pittman was actually mustering viable numbers with Richardson later in the season, and Daniel Jones should be an incremental improvement, if not a material one, by increasing pass volume and accuracy. Pittman's status as an undervalued wide receiver is intact now that we can dismiss this injury scare. |
Denver Broncos WR Troy Franklin has been performing well in OTAs, according to head coach Sean Payton. 'He can run, and I would say a strength of his is ball in hand after the catch,' Payton said.
Footballguys view: There was some speculation that Franklin could be on the fast track to playing time after he fell to the third day in last year's draft because he played with Bo Nix at Oregon. He did get 52 targets and got on the field for over 400 snaps, but only notched 28 catches for 263 yards. Marvin Mims finished 2024 with a bang and the team took a receiver, Pat Bryant (Illinois), in the third round, so Franklin's role isn't likely to increase much this year. |
Jacksonville Jaguars WR Dyami Brown has been working as one of the top receivers during OTAs, and 'it's increasingly apparent that he figures to play a huge role in the offense' in 2025, according to John Oehser of Jaguars.com.
Footballguys view: The Jaguars new regime loves Brown's ability to make plays downfield, enough to guaranteed $9.5 million on a one-year deal. The team also paid a lot to trade up for Travis Hunter and plan on playing him primarily at wide receiver, but Liam Coen's offense will deploy a lot of three-wide sets. Brown has late round value in best ball leagues, but could greatly outproduce that ADP if Hunter has some growing pains. Brown is also a possible upgrade from Gabe Davis, who the Jaguars released, and could help increase Trevor Lawrence's value. |

Seattle Seahawks WR Tory Horton (knee) has been limited during offseason workouts because of a knee injury but is expected to be a candidate for the punt returner job.
Footballguys view: The fifth round pick will probably have a small role on offense this year, if any at all, but Cooper Kupp and Marquez Valdes-Scantling are the main obstacles on the depth chart long term, so he could be a big part of the pass offense in the next few years. Horton is worth stashing away in deep dynasty leagues. |
Jacksonville Jaguars QB Trevor Lawrence has shown drastically improved footwork during offseason workouts, according to head coach Liam Coen.
Footballguys view: Lawrence has a chance to be the breakout quarterback of 2025 under Coen's tutelage. Coen played a large part in Will Levis's draft stock and Baker Mayfield's career revival, and the team has been aggressive about improving the wide receiver room this offseason. He should be a target if you wait on quarterback or as a QB2 in superflex leagues. |

New York Giants QB Jaxson Dart worked with the second-team offense Thursday, June 5, after spending the majority of the time with the third-team previously.
Footballguys view: Dart is unlikely to start Week 1, but this is a sign that he could take over earlier than expected if the season goes south, and perhaps leapfrog Jameis Winston. Russell Wilson - who recently said the team drafting Dart "doesn't change anything at all" for him - has been getting most of the first-team reps, but he faded quickly after a hot start with the Steelers last year. |

Updating a previous report, Indianapolis Colts QB Anthony Richardson (shoulder) is not expected to need to undergo surgery on his injured shoulder.
Footballguys view: Good news for Richardson here....well, as much as it can be. The Colts are going to be cautious with the former first-round quarterback as he recovers from this latest injury. Daniel Jones was there to compete with Richardson for the starting job, but now he may just have that spot. |

Cincinnati Bengals WR Tee Higgins said he changed his workout plan this offseason in hopes of not suffering injuries this upcoming season. He said he focused on improving his speed and strength.
Footballguys view: Higgins has a ton of talent, and the Bengals paid him a big contract because of his upside. However, he's never fully played up to his potential due to injuries. Now with a new training regimen, Higgins is primed to post even gaudier numbers in 2025. If healthy for most of the season, Higgins could easily be a top-12 fantasy receiver. |

Miami Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel said he has been excited about Jaylen Waddle's work to improve all aspects of his game during offseason workouts. 'I see a guy that's ready to earn growth to a game that's already top tier within the National Football League. It's exciting for me and exciting for when I go out on the field, because he's humbly approaching his craft, attacking it, so that he's not satisfied with any part of his game,' McDaniel said.

Cleveland Browns QBs Kenny Pickett, Joe Flacco, Shedeur Sanders and Dillon Gabriel are all believed to be candidates for the starting quarterback job, and offensive coordinator Tommy Rees said he could see any of the four to win the job at this point.
Footballguys view: It seems like every day we get quarterback updates from OTAs. This is a competition that should last through all of training camp and the preseason. Flacco has the experience and could be considered a front-runner for the job, but Sanders might be the best of the bunch. |
Joe Flacco player page
Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson has started preliminary talks with the Ravens about a possible contract extension, according to general manager Eric DeCosta.
Footballguys view: Jackson is under contract through 2027, as he signed a five-year, $260 million contract with the Ravens in 2023. There is no rush to get this deal done, but the quarterback market is crazy so perhaps the sooner the better for the Ravens. |

Las Vegas Raiders WR Dont'e Thornton is a player who has 'some real receiver capabilities to him' and 'not just a guy that can run fast,' according to fellow receiver Jakobi Meyers.'Dont'e is unique in terms of he's just a hair under 6-5 and he ran 4.3. There's not a lot of humans on this planet that do that. And I think if you had to draw up an outside receiver, you would pick that type of body type, someone that's got length, someone that's got a huge catch radius, but also has speed. Sometimes you can get a big guy like that, but he can't really run, so they can stay with him. So, you add that speed element to him, his ability to sink his hips, his ability to get in and out of cuts,' offensive coordinator Chip Kelly said.
Footballguys view: Thornton can make plays down the field as evidenced by his last year at Tennessee when he led the FBS with 25.4 yards per reception. Right now, Thornton is a speed merchant who can take the top off the defense. Thornton is competing with fellow rookie Jack Bech for spots behind Jakobi Meyers and Tre Tucker. |

Free-agent QB Aaron Rodgers (Jets) reportedly informed the Pittsburgh Steelers on Thursday, June 5, that he intends to sign the contract with the team and attend minicamp next week, according to sources.
Footballguys view: Finally! According to reports, the contract terms have been in place for months. Rodgers is expected to play for around $20 million this year (he's said as much publicly). While no longer the elite gunslinger he used to be, Rodgers should be able to operate the Arthur Smith offense precisely and efficiently. |

Pittsburgh Steelers TE Donald Parham (Achilles) was placed on the Reserve/Injured list on Thursday, June 5.
Footballguys view: Bad news for the Steelers here. Parham is huge and has speed, but he's never played up to his potential. His season is done, and we'll see where Parham signs next year as he only had a one-year deal with the Steelers. |
Donald Parham Jr player page
Chicago Bears TE Joel Wilson and RB Kyle Monangai were identified by head coach Ben Johnson as two of the players who have stood out on offense this spring.
Footballguys view: Let's put a pin in this news item and circle back when the Bears are in training camp and the preseason. During OTAs, Fantasy GMs should be listening for 'drum beats' of information. This one is loud and clear coming from Johnson. Manangai is the no.3 back behind D'Andre Swift and Roschon Johnson. Wilson is the competing for a roster spot in the tight end room behind Cole Kmet and Colston Loveland. |
Indianapolis Colts WR Michael Pittman Jr. (undisclosed) limped off the field and did not return to practice after getting tangled up while running a route on Thursday, June 5.
Footballguys view: We don't know the severity of this injury yet, so we'll have to wait for further reports. Pittman has been working out with QB Daniel Jones this offseason. With a questionable quarterback situation, we like Pittman as a WR4 for Fantasy GMs. |
Detroit Lions WR Amon-Ra St. Brown (knee) told reporters on Thursday, June 5, that he underwent cleanup knee surgery in the offseason.
Footballguys view: While St. Brown has not participated during the offseason program, he fully expects to be ready for training camp in July. He's in line for another huge season as the no.1 receiver for the Lions, so St. Brown is a clear-cut WR1 and set-it-and-forget-it starter for Fantasy GMs out there. |
Amon-Ra St. Brown player page
Detroit Lions WR Jameson Williams, RB Jahmyr Gibbs and TE Sam LaPorta are a few of the players who have stood out the most to head coach Dan Campbell this spring.
Footballguys view: These are players we should expect to stand out at OTAs. Williams is coming off a career year in 2024, and he could post even better numbers this year. Gibbs is a stud running back who stars as a runner and receiver out of the backfield. LaPorta is a playmaker tight end who could finish in the top-5 at his position. We love the update from coach Campbell, but everyone pretty much knows these guys will be stand out players in 2025. |

Washington Commanders WR Terry McLaurin has not participated in voluntary workouts after initially attending them and made it clear that he is frustrated with the lack of progress toward a long-term deal, according to sources.
Footballguys view: McLaurin was at OTAs but left in frustration. Now, we are not sure of his intent for mandatory minicamp next week. The Commanders need to take care of QB Jayden Daniels' favorite target, and deals get done at deadlines. We could see McLaurin at mandatory work next week, but he may be held out of practice in some sort of 'hold in' situation. Stay tuned. |

Indianapolis Colts QB Anthony Richardson (shoulder) aggravated the right AC joint in his shoulder recently, according to head coach Shane Steichen. Per Steichen, the team hopes Richardson can return to practice 'at some point' during training camp.
Footballguys view: Daniel Jones is there to compete for the starting job with Richardson. If Richardson is out, then Jones gets a clear advantage. Richardson has a ton of talent, but he's as oft-injured as they get. He needs to get healthy, stay healthy, and win the job in training camp or the Colts just roll with Jones as their starter. |

Atlanta Falcons TE Kyle Pitts could be available for trade as the team isn't necessarily turning calls away for him, according to NFL insider Adam Schefter. The problem is Pitts is in the last year of his rookie deal, and he's owed nearly $11 million.
Footballguys view: That salary and the draft capital to acquire him may be too much for bidders, according to Schefter. |

Tennessee Titans WR Treylon Burks (knee) is making progress in his recovery from a knee injury but is not fully recovered at this point, according to head coach Brian Callahan. Burks participated in individual drills during practice Tuesday, June 3.
Link to storyLos Angeles Rams RB Blake Corum (forearm) has been participating in drills during the first week of OTAs.
Link to storyMinnesota Vikings RB Jordan Mason (ankle) participated in drills during OTAs Wednesday, June 4.
Footballguys view: Vikings HC Kevin O'Connell said Mason will complement starting RB Aaron Jones as a "1b" in the backfield. Mason has talent, but his 2024 season with the 49ers was cut short because of this ankle problem. It's a good sign Mason is out there in OTAs, and we're excited about his upside as an RB3/flex option in 2025. |
Dallas Cowboys RB Javonte Williams will likely be 'strictly in a rotational role' this season, in the opinion of ESPN's Bill Barnwell, who adds that there's a 'slim-but-plausible chance' that Williams doesn't even make the 53-man roster out of camp. Williams signed a one-year, $3 million deal with Dallas, but only $1 million of that is guaranteed.
Footballguys view: Williams has not looked the same since a major knee injury in his second year (2022) with the Broncos. Now with the Cowboys, Williams is the lead back but in a room with Miles Sanders and Jaydon Blue. In an RBBC that could be a three-headed unit, Williams is looking more like an RB4/deep flex option for a fantasy perspective in 2025. |
Javonte Williams player page
Chicago Bears RB D'Andre Swift has been working with running backs coach Eric Bieniemy to avoid negative runs that result from him trying to do to much.
Footballguys view: Swift has a tendency to dance behind the line of scrimmage, and that's not what the team needs. Bieniemy is a seasoned running back coach, so Swift should be listening intently to what he's being coached to do. Swift is coming off a career-low 3.8 yards per carry in 2024. We could see him approaching the 1,000-yard mark this year with around 35 catches as the Bears lead back. That makes Swift an RB2 with upside for Fantasy GMs out there. |
D'Andre Swift player page
Los Angeles Chargers RB Najee Harris has ranked second to last in cumulative rushing EPA (Expected Points Added) since he entered the NFL in 2021, per ESPN's Bill Barnwell, who writes that Harris could be more productive in his new role as LA presents a better situation than the one he had during his time with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Footballguys view: The Chargers have both Harris and rookie first-round pick Omarion Hampton to soften up defenses in 2025. Chargers HC Jim Harbaugh said he plans to deploy Harris and Hampton as a "1-2 punch." A four-time 1,000-yard rusher, Harris is a power back who can live between the tackles. His numbers could be more efficient this year with his new team because he's splitting time in the backfield with Hampton. |

San Francisco 49ers WR Jauan Jennings (undisclosed) participated in individual drills during practice Wednesday, June 4, but sat out team drills.
Footballguys view: While the San Francisco 49ers struggled to secure six wins last season, Jennings had his most productive campaign. He set career highs in targets (113), receptions (77), receiving yards (975), and touchdowns (6). Now entering the final year of his contract, Jennings is in line to be the 49ers' top wideout in Week 1, especially with Brandon Aiyuk recovering from a significant knee injury. Jennings is currently a solid value, going as WR34 on Underdog in Round 6. |

Undrafted free-agent WR Ife Adeyi (Sam Houston State) signed with the Philadelphia Eagles Wednesday, June 4. Terms of the contract were not disclosed.
Link to storyHouston Texans RB Joe Mixon (undisclosed) did not participate in the offseason workout Tuesday, June 3, but is expected to be ready for training camp, according to a source. Mixon has been wearing a walking boot this offseason, according to sources.
Footballguys view: Mixon has been an observer for most of the team's OTAs, but again, there isn't any concern about his availability for training camp. Mixon finished 2023, his first season with the Texans, as RB10. He is being drafted as RB16 with the 51st pick overall in early best balls. |

Cleveland Browns third-round draft choice QB Dillon Gabriel signed a four-year contract with the Browns Wednesday, June 4. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Link to storyHouston Texans TE Dalton Schultz (undisclosed) participated on the offseason workout Tuesday, June 3, after missing time last week.
Footballguys view: Schultz was reportedly moving well and caught a touchdown pass during Tuesday's session. Before last year, Schultz was widely regarded as a strength for Houston, essentially serving as the fourth option in the aerial attack. However, a disappointing 2024 shoved Schultz off the fantasy radar. He's being drafted as TE27 this offseason. |

New Orleans Saints QB Derek Carr was placed on the Reserve/Retired list Tuesday, June 3.
Footballguys view: The NFL reserve/retired list is used for players who have officially retired from the league but still have a contract with a team. When a player retires and is placed on this list, the team's contract with them is tolled, meaning the contract remains in place, and the team retains the player's rights if they choose to unretire. As of now, that isn't in the cards for Carr. We'll see if he's in that same place next year. |

Free-agent RB J.K. Dobbins (Chargers) is scheduled have dinner with the Denver Broncos coaches Wednesday, June 4, and will visit the team's facility Thursday, June 5, according to a source.
Footballguys view: The Broncos have five RBs on the roster: Jaleel McLaughlin, Audric Estime, Tyler Badie, Blake Watson, and rookie RJ Harvey, who is expected to be the starter. Dobbins had a career-high 905 rushing yards in 13 games in his only season as a Charger. Los Angeles applied the rarely-used unrestricted free agent tender to Dobbins in April, extending the window for his departure to count toward the compensatory pick formula for both the Chargers and his new team. As Profootballtalk.com notes, Dobbins has played well when healthy, but injuries have kept him from fully realizing his potential. |
