Link to storyKansas City Chiefs impending free-agent WR Tyquan Thornton said he would be interested in re-signing with the Chiefs this offseason. He will be looking to sign with a team this offseason where he can contribute on offense.
Footballguys view: Thornton finished the 2025 season with 19 catches for 438 yards and three touchdowns. He was acquired at the end of the 2024 season as a developmental player. Thornton ended up being more than that with the absence of Rashee Rice for the first six games due to suspension, and with Xavier Worthy slowed by injury. The speedy former second-round pick found ways to stand out on deep pass plays, making him a constant home-run threat and disrupting the defense. A return at a reasonable price isn't a reach.
Baltimore Ravens WR DeAndre Hopkins said he wants to play at least one more season.
Footballguys view: The one-year, $5 million contract Hopkins signed last March expires when the new league year begins in 2026. With Jesse Minter as the new head coach, Hopkins' future with the club is uncertain at best. Hopkins was the Ravens' third option behind Zay Flowers and Mark Andrews. Hopkins' 37 targets were similar to Rashod Bateman (38) and Isaiah Likely (35) as he logged 22 catches for 330 yards and two touchdowns, career lows in nearly every significant receiving category. It's hard to justify a similar salary this year.

New England Patriots WR Stefon Diggs said he expects to return to the team next season, but the team will have control of his future with the organization.
Footballguys view: Outside of Sunday's Super Bowl loss, this past season was a success for the 32-year-old as he became the Patriots' first 1,000-yard receiver since 2019. Diggs' performance was impressive considering he was coming off a season-ending knee injury. Whether or not the Patriots want him back, however, remains to be seen. Diggs is signed for two more years, but his base salary of $20.6 million isn't fully guaranteed; the Patriots could move on without major financial repercussions. Still, Diggs was their best offensive weapon, leading the team in receptions (85) and receiving yards (1,013). It's a situation to watch.

Former Miami Dolphins and New York Jets head coach Adam Gase reportedly agreed to terms on a contract to join the Los Angeles Chargers as a passing game specialist on Monday, Feb. 9.
Footballguys view: The 47-year-old Gase hasn't been a coach at any level since he was head coach of the Jets in 2019 and 2020. Before that, he was head coach of the Dolphins from 2016 to 2018, and before that, he was an offensive coordinator for the Bears and Broncos. As Profootballtalk.com noted, Chargers head coach Jim Harbaugh has shaken up the offensive coaching staff by firing coordinator Greg Roman and hiring Mike McDaniel to replace him. And now the Chargers have added a second former Dolphins head coach to their offensive staff.
Los Angeles Rams assistant head coach/pass game coordinator Aubrey Pleasant met with the Arizona Cardinals regarding their defensive coordinator vacancy on Monday, Feb. 9.
Footballguys view: After hiring head coach Mike LaFleur, the Cardinals need to find a defensive play-caller to lead their defense. Pleasant is familiar with LaFleur after spending the last three years with him in Los Angeles. Pleasant has coached in the NFL for the past 13 seasons, also spending time in Washington, Cleveland, Detroit, and Green Bay. Pleasant is also expected to meet with the Browns for their opening.
Los Angeles Rams assistant head coach/pass game coordinator Aubrey Pleasant is expected to meet with the Cleveland Browns regarding their defensive coordinator vacancy on Monday, Feb. 9.
Footballguys view: Currently, Pleasant is the Rams' assistant head coach and pass game coordinator, but could be in line for a bigger role elsewhere. An interview with the Arizona Cardinals was taking place first, followed by a meeting with Cleveland. Pleasant previously interviewed for the Los Angeles Chargers' defensive coordinator job but was passed over for Chris O'Leary.
Carolina Panthers defensive pass-game coordinator Jonathan Cooley is receiving interest from the Cleveland Browns regarding their defensive coordinator vacancy, and the Browns have requested permission to interview him, according to a source.
Footballguys view: According to USA Today, the highly-regarded assistant coach has spent the last three seasons with Carolina. Cooley was hired by the Panthers in 2023 as their cornerbacks/secondary coach. He received a promotion to his current post ahead of the 2024 campaign. Before landing in Carolina, Cooley worked his first three NFL seasons for the Los Angeles Rams. He served as a defensive quality control coach, assistant secondary coach, and defensive backs coach there from 2020 to 2022.
New York Giants outside linebackers coach Charlie Bullen was requested for an interview with the Cleveland Browns for their defensive coordinator post.
Footballguys view: Cleveland needs a new defensive coordinator because Jim Schwartz says he doesn't want to be back in Cleveland after he was passed over as head coach. Bullen could be a good candidate for the Browns' job, and he is also a candidate to be the Cardinals' defensive coordinator. And, according to Profootballtalk.com, if he doesn't get one of those jobs, he's likely to be back with the Giants.
Former Minnesota Vikings offensive line coach Chris Kuper was hired by the Philadelphia Eagles Monday, Feb. 9, in the same capacity.
Footballguys view: Kuper spent the past four seasons in the same role in Minnesota, where he crossed paths with new Eagles OC Sean Mannion. Now, they're teaming up in Philly.
New England Patriots QB Drake Maye (shoulder) indicated that he received a pain-killing injection in his right shoulder prior to the team's Super Bowl LX loss to the Seattle Seahawks. Maye missed one practice and was limited in another leading up to the game, but he did not carry a designation on the final injury report.
Footballguys view: Whether it was the injury or just the intense pressure from Seattle's pass rush, Maye struggled. After hurting the shoulder in the AFC Championship game, Maye was limited in one practice and then held out of another during the off week. But he said he felt he turned a corner upon arriving in California on Feb. 1 and practiced fully in the Patriots' three workouts leading up to the game. Maye said Thursday that he was feeling great, although he had still been listed on the injury report all last week, per NFL rules. He did not have a designation.
