Browns | Harold Fannin Jr.'s YAC ability special    Tue May 27, 10:59 AM

Cleveland Browns TE Harold Fannin Jr.'s ability to run after the catch is what makes his special, and the Browns offense desperately needs, in the opinion of Cleveland.com's Lance Reisland.

Footballguys view: That said, Fannin has limitations. As Reisland explained, playing as a traditional tight end with his hand on the ground and consistently blocking massive NFL defensive linemen will be a limiting factor. Using Fannin in various spots within different formations will maximize his strengths of receiving and blocking in space. This will mean using him as the second tight end along with David Njoku in two-TE sets. The Browns' current lack of depth at receiver could work in Fannin's favor, but fantasy investors should keep expectations in check. He's TE39 on our redraft projections.

Broncos | Evan Engram could see limited offseason work    Mon May 26, 06:12 PM

Denver Broncos TE Evan Engram (shoulder) may see a limited workload during offseason workouts because he is recovering from a shoulder injury.

Footballguys view: The Broncos signed Engram to a two-year, $23 million deal to serve as a "Joker" -- an elite pass-catching TE or RB -- in Sean Payton's offense. A first-round pick of the Giants in 2017, Engram had 114 receptions for Jacksonville in 2023. He was on pace for 89 catches last year when he suffered a season-ending shoulder injury in Week 9. He'll be limited to save wear and tear on that shoulder, but there's no reason to believe he won't be ready for full duty come Week 1.

Broncos | Alex Singleton may be limited    Mon May 26, 06:09 PM

Denver Broncos LB Alex Singleton (knee) may be a limited participant during offseason workouts because he is not fully recovered from the torn anterior cruciate ligament he suffered during the 2024 season.

Footballguys view: Singleton missed the final 15 games last season with that ACL injury. But his recovery is on schedule, and a cautious approach during OTAs makes sense.

Broncos | Dre Greenlaw to miss workouts    Mon May 26, 06:09 PM

Denver Broncos LB Dre Greenlaw (calf, quadriceps) will not participate in offseason workouts or minicamp but is expected to be ready for the start of training camp.

Footballguys view: Greenlaw missed most of last year because of a torn Achilles suffered in the 2023-season Super Bowl, and there have been injury issues since. Last year, he had a strained calf; he suffered a strained quad early during this offseason. This report further confirms what head coach Sean Payton told reporters in May: Greenlaw will be ready for training camp and the start of the season.

Giants | Jalin Hyatt struggled to escape doghouse in 2024    Mon May 26, 04:00 PM

New York Giants WR Jalin Hyatt 'mentally checked out at points last season after clashing with the coaching staff and upper management,' according to SNY.tv's Connor Hughes.

Footballguys view: Hughes notes that Russell Wilson is still very good at attacking the backend of a defense. His high-arching passes, married with Hyatt's elite-level deep speed, are a fit. If Hyatt shows up with a re-commitment to the playbook, practice, and games and improves his route running, he should be more productive with Wilson than with Daniel Jones, Drew Lock, and Tommy DeVito. This speculation doesn't move Hyatt onto our draft radar, but it's a situation to watch as we get into the season.

Giants | Jaxson Dart unlikely to crack lineup early    Mon May 26, 03:01 PM

New York Giants first-round draft choice QB Jaxson Dart seems unlikely to make his first start until at least Week 10, according to SNY.tv's Connor Hughes.

Footballguys view: According to Hughes, the Giants genuinely believe Russell Wilson can play well, elevate those around him, and make the Giants a competent club this year. Still, uncertainty with head coach Brain Daboll and his job status clouds this. The play of Wilson and Jameis Winston won't bring him back in 2026. What will: His hand-picked quarterback showing signs he can be a franchise signal-caller. Hughes can see Daboll going to Dart even earlier than Week 10 if he feels his job is on the line. The good news? Fantasy managers don't have to join him in this.

Titans | JC Latham in great shape    Mon May 26, 02:44 PM

Tennessee Titans OT JC Latham 'really dedicated himself to changing his body like a lot of first-year players going into their second year find ways to do' this offseason, according to head coach Brian Callahan.'He probably admittedly was heavy at the end of last season as the second half of the year wore on. He learned a lot of lessons himself about what it takes to play tackle in this league. The caliber of players you face every week, and there's no let down. ... JC (Latham) is capable of being an excellent football player and he really dedicated himself to changing his body like a lot of first-year players going into their second year find ways to do. He looks great, he's in great shape, he's moving really well. I'm excited about where he's at but all the credit goes to him and just understanding what he realized it was going to take to be the player that he wants to be and he dedicated himself to it,' Callahan recently told the team's website.

Steelers | Report: Kirk Cousins A Possible Fallback Option In Pittsburgh    Mon May 26, 02:19 PM

As the Pittsburgh Steelers wait for Aaron Rodgers to make a decision, they are also keeping an eye on Kirk Cousins' situation with the Atlanta Falcons. Appearing on the Saturday morning edition of SportsCenter, ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reported that Cousins is "at least" on Pittsburgh's "radar" at the moment even though Rodgers remains the team's preferred choice.

Footballguys view: Assuming Rodgers isn't in the mix, Pittsburgh, with Mason Rudolph, Will Howard, and Skylar Thompson on the depth chart, would fit Cousins' criteria of allowing him to start. Fowler acknowledges the Steelers would have to offset some of Cousins' guaranteed money, but the Falcons can save $27.5 million against their 2025 cap if he's traded after June 1. The Steelers haven't indicated a hard deadline for Rodgers to show up, but having him on hand when they report to training camp makes sense.

Steelers | Pittsburgh Set To Begin OTAs; Still No Sign Of Aaron Rodgers    Mon May 26, 02:11 PM

On Tuesday, the Steelers will conduct the first of only six 2025 OTA practices. Barring a sudden and unexpected turn, quarterback Aaron Rodgers won't be there.

Footballguys view: While it's not impossible, chances are Rodgers won't be signed by tomorrow. The question is whether he will show up for any upcoming OTAs over the next two weeks. The Steelers have nine offseason practices before training camp. Without Rodgers, the quarterbacks will be Mason Rudolph, Skylar Thompson, and rookie Will Howard. While Rodgers being the Steelers QB this fall is still the most likely outcome, we'll be watching closely until we get resolution.

Bengals | Joe Burrow talks up Jermaine Burton's offseason    Mon May 26, 01:21 PM

Cincinnati Bengals WR Jermaine Burton has 'matured' and 'in a good spot mentally and physically,' according to recent comments made by Joe Burrow.'I think he's stepped up this year so far. Has taken it very seriously. Has matured, it seems like. Based on the conversations that we have had, he's in a good spot mentally and physically. And he's been working hard, which is exciting to see,' Burrow told Geoff Hobson of Bengals.com.

Footballguys view: Burrow's comments come just days after head coach Zac Taylor offered similar praise, telling reporters that the second-year man has attacked practice the right way this year. As USA Today suggested, if Burton is back on track and reaching for some of that early-round potential, the pool of receiving talent around Burrow will be even deeper. It's a situation worth monitoring, especially for Dynasty investors.

Jets | Will McDonald bulking up    Mon May 26, 01:05 PM

Cowboys | Javonte Williams could be more flexible    Mon May 26, 10:35 AM

Dallas Cowboys RB Javonte Williams (knee) said he could be more flexible, but he is completely healed from a 2022 surgery to repair a torn ACL, PCL and MCL in his knee.

Footballguys view: That's great news. The next job for Williams will be locking himself as the primary ball carrier in the Cowboys' run game behind what Dallas is hoping is an improved offensive line that can open up running lanes and help create play-action opportunities. Williams will be competing with fellow free agent Mile Sanders and rookies Jaydon Blue and Phil Mafa. Williams is the early favorite to earn the top job based on his 10th-round price as RB27. Blue is next, going in Round 12.

Bears | Kevin Byard wants to retire with Bears    Mon May 26, 10:28 AM

'I put everything, my heart and my soul into this year, to this team, to this group of guys, and then we revisit those things in the offseason,' Byard said this week, via team transcript.   Commanders | Jayden Daniels bulks up    Mon May 26, 12:20 AM

Washington Commanders QB Jayden Daniels said he has added some muscle this offseason.

Footballguys view: As USA Today's Bryan Manning suggested, one of the biggest knocks on Daniels ahead of the 2024 NFL draft was his size. While Daniels stands 6-4, his 200-pound frame led to concerns that his style of play would put him at risk. Daniels quickly allayed those concerns, leading the Washington Commanders to a 12-5 record while delivering a QB5 fantasy finish as a rookie. After the season ended, Daniels talked about finding ways to improve. "The main thing I'll say this offseason is bulking up a little bit more," Daniels said. "Putting on some more armor." Mission accomplished.

Jaguars | Brenton Strange confident    Sun May 25, 03:16 PM

Jacksonville Jaguars TE Brenton Strange said he believes he is ready to take over as the starting tight end this upcoming season.

Footballguys view: The Jaguars moved on from TE Evan Engram, who signed with the Broncos this offseason, so Strange moves into their TE1 position. New Jaguars GM James Gladstone expects Strange to "have a part in the offense, moving forward, in a way we haven't seen yet." Most Fantasy GMs consider Strange to be a mid-range TE2, but we'll see if he can provide a bit more value in 2025 with a larger role.

Saints | Aaron Rodgers not interested in New Orleans    Sun May 25, 11:25 AM

Free-agent QB Aaron Rodgers (Jets) said that he is not interested in playing for the New Orleans Saints, while participating in a question-and-answer session with fans attending rapper Mike Stud's concert Friday, May 23, in Austin, Texas.

Footballguys view: Rodgers is bound for the Steelers, but with mandatory minicamp coming up in a couple of weeks, he needs to sign soon. Things are getting strung along with Rodgers, and nobody should be surprised. The Steelers have pretty much waited for Rodgers to make his decision, because with Mason Rudolph and Will Howard at the position they don't have much of a choice.

Bears | Shemar Turner won't be used as edge rusher yet    Sun May 25, 10:53 AM

Chicago Bears DE Shemar Turner will focus on playing along the interior of the defensive line before the team considers testing his edge versatility, according to defensive coordinator Dennis Allen.

Footballguys view: Coming out of Texas A&M this year, Turner had 'tweener' traits on the field for the Aggies. The Bears liked him enough to spend a second-round pick on him, and he'll work inside to begin his pro career. Turner can get off the snap quickly, and he's the type of player who can create interior pressure. However, his lack of mass could allow double teams to move him out of the way inside.

Bears | Daniel Hardy to increase versatility    Sun May 25, 10:17 AM

Chicago Bears DL Daniel Hardy will see time as both a defensive lineman and a linebacker during offseason programs and training camp. Head coach Ben Johnson said that the team wants to expand Hardy's skillset and see what he looks like dropping back into coverage, in order to take advantage of his pass-rush ability.

Footballguys view: A former seventh-round pick of the Rams (2022), Hardy has been developing as a practice squad player for the Bears. He's seen limited action on the field defensively, and Hardy is entering a make-or-break season in 2025.

Eagles | Nakobe Dean rehab update    Sun May 25, 09:51 AM

Philadelphia Eagles LB Nakobe Dean (knee) has been taking ballet classes to supplement his rehab from a torn patellar tendon, in an attempt to increase flexibility and allow him to be more agile on the football field.

Footballguys view: Dean suffered a torn patellar tendon against the Packers in the Wild Card Round of the playoffs, and he's been recovering ever since. In 2024, Dean was a leader on the field for the Eagles and his 128 tackles, three sacks, and nine TFLs were all career highs. We'll see what he can do when the team gets to training camp, but there's a chance he misses at least part of the 2025 season.

Patriots | Morgan Moses recovering from knee surgery    Sun May 25, 09:19 AM

New England Patriots OT Morgan Moses (knee) has not been participating in full-team drills during the team's offseason program because he is recovering from recent knee surgery.

Footballguys view: As a member of the New York Jets in 2024, Moses sustained a bone bruise and medial collateral ligament sprain in Week 3's game but decided to play through the pain after missing two contests, rather than undergoing midseason surgery. Moses signed a three-year, $24 million contract with the Patriots this offseason. There's not a concern at the moment, and it seems like Moses should be out there during training camp and the preseason.

Ravens | Zay Flowers catching passes    Sun May 25, 09:19 AM

Baltimore Ravens WR Zay Flowers (knee) posted a video on social media that showed him catching passes from QB Lamar Jackson.

Footballguys view: Earlier this month, Ravens HC John Harbaugh said the knee injury Flowers suffered last season did not require surgery. Flowers was injured in the last game of the regular season, and his absence was felt in the postseason. He will be the team's no.1 wide receiver again, and Flowers is coming off back-to-back 100 target seasons (and his first 1,000-yard season in 2024). Fantasy GMs see Flowers as a WR3 with upside in 2025.

Buccaneers | TB hope Baker Mayfield can avoid some hits    Sun May 25, 09:19 AM

Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterbacks coach Thad Lewis said he likes that QB Baker Mayfield is aggressive at times during games but would like to see Mayfield avoid some of the hits he takes during games. 'So I would want that guy show up in the 'gotta have it' moments. Early in the game, if it's not there I would prefer him to throw it away or get down, or check it down, add to the punt. Let's play a little team ball; we have a good defense. Let's flip the field. We don't have to get it all in one shot,' Lewis said.

Footballguys view: With Liam Coen moving on to be the head coach of the Jaguars, we'll see if Bucs new OC Josh Grizzard tries to design plays to get the ball out of Mayfield's hand quickly. Mayfield has plenty of 'playground football' to his game, but that chaos can get him hit more than the team would like. Projecting Mayfield as a top-10 fantasy quarterback is a given, and we think he should post more than 4,000 yards passing and 30-plus passing touchdowns in 2025.

Saints | Foster Moreau happy with progress    Sun May 25, 09:19 AM

New Orleans Saints TE Foster Moreau (knee) said he is ahead of schedule in his recovery from a knee injury but would not say if he will be ready for training camp or the start of the regular season.

Footballguys view: Moreau is trying for a roster spot behind Juwan Johnson and Taysom Hill. We'll see both Hill and Moreau miss time this offseason due to knee injuries. Moreau might open training camp on the PUP list to give the team the option of beginning his regular season on the PUP list too. Stay tuned.

Saints | Dallin Holker not on the field    Sun May 25, 09:19 AM

New Orleans Saints TE Dallin Holker (undisclosed) has not been participating in offseason workouts because of an undisclosed injury, according to head coach Kellen Moore.

Footballguys view: Holker was added as a priority free agent by the Saints last year, and coming out of Colorado State we appreciated his game. In 2023, Holker led FBS tight ends in targets (105), receptions (64) and receiving yards (766). This undisclosed injury is not helping his chance of making the team, so he'll need to get on the field during training camp to impress. We still like Holker in super crazy deep dynasty formats.

Lions | Isaac TeSlaa unlikely to be big factor in 2025    Sat May 24, 02:30 PM

Detroit Lions WR Isaac TeSlaa probably will start off as the No. 5 receiver for the Lions this upcoming season and is not expected to be a candidate for the No. 3 receiver job, in the opinion of the Detroit Free-Press' Dave Birkett.

Footballguys view: The rookie is an athletic freak, and we love adding him in dynasty formats. This year, TeSlaa will be buried on the depth chart. However, the upside is there for him to be a starter for this team in the future.

Commanders | Deebo Samuel successful on big plays    Sat May 24, 02:18 PM

Washington Commanders WR Deebo Samuel has recorded 55 plays of at least 20 yards in the passing game over the last four years, which ranks 18th in the NFL during that time.

Footballguys view: Samuel is with the Commanders to be a dangerous weapon for QB Jayden Daniels as he looks to avoid a sophomore slump. We should see this connection grow during the offseason, training camp, and the preseason. With his ability as a run-after-the-catch specialist, Fantasy GMs see Samuel as a WR3/flex option with upside.

Patriots | Stefon Diggs on the field    Sat May 24, 12:38 PM

New England Patriots WR Stefon Diggs (knee) participated in drills during OTAs Thursday, May 22.

Footballguys view: Diggs is seen as perhaps the primary slot option for the Patriots. He lined up in the slot on 43 percent of his snaps last year for the Texans, and Diggs could be in for quite a bit of targets from QB Drake Maye. Fantasy GMs see Diggs as a player who could pay off as a WR2, but he's getting drafted in the WR3/flex range in early drafts.

Jaguars | Dyami Brown making good impression    Sat May 24, 12:26 PM

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Dyami Brown has flashed during OTAs and could be a 'critical cog' of the offense, according to Kainani Stevens of Jaguars.com.

Footballguys view: Brown has always had the talent to get downfield in a hurry, but he's never played up to his potential in the pros. We'll see what he can do with his new team after coming off career highs with the Commanders in 2024. Last year, Brown had 40 targets, 30 catches, 308 receiving yards, and one touchdown. We'll see if he can light things up in the preseason and get on the fantasy radar.

Buccaneers | Rachaad White not long for Tampa?    Sat May 24, 11:53 AM

Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB Rachaad White made a social media post that seemed to suggest that the 2025 season will be his last as a member of the Buccaneers.

Footballguys view: No surprise here, especially with the breakout season from Bucky Irving (as a rookie) in 2024. White will work in tandem with Irving again this year, serving as an option to pick up tough yards between the tackles. Last season, White had over 1,000 all-purpose yards and finished as the no.23 fantasy back in standard-scoring leagues. This year in early drafts, White is going off the board in the low-end RB3 range as Fantasy GMs expect Irving to do even more in 2025.

Cowboys | Javonte Williams feeling good    Sat May 24, 11:10 AM

Dallas Cowboys RB Javonte Williams said he feels like himself for the first time since suffering a serious knee injury in 2022. He has received a majority of the work with the first-team offense during offseason workouts.

Footballguys view: Williams is expected to be the lead back for the Cowboys this year with Miles Sanders providing some help in their RBBC. Last year as the Broncos top back, Williams was unimpressive with just 513 yards on the ground. He's a decent receiving option out of the backfield as evidenced by his 99 catches over the last two seasons. Williams may not be what he used to be after this injury, but he can be a solid back who can run between the tackles, catch a few passes a game, and he's great in pass protection. Fantasy GMs see him as an RB3/flex option in 2025.

Bears | J.K. Dobbins a possibility for Chicago?    Fri May 23, 03:02 PM

Free-agent RB J.K. Dobbins (Chargers) has 'the size and rushing style that would complement D'Andre Swift will and add a physicality to the attack that's beneficial to (head coach) Ben Johnson's scheme,' according to Scott Bair of the Marquee Sports Network. Bair also believes that Dobbins is 'a safer bet' to sign with the team than former Cleveland Browns RB Nick Chubb.

Footballguys view: The Bears are looking to add more talent to their running backs room, and Dobbins could be that guy. He's a season veteran coming off a good season with the Chargers where he had 905 yards rushing and nine rushing touchdowns. The Bears have until July 22nd to sign Dobbins because the Chargers put an unrestricted free agent tender on him and will have 'exclusive negotiating rights' after that date.

Steelers | Jaylen Warren unlikely to return to Pittsburgh in 2026?    Fri May 23, 02:22 PM

Pittsburgh Steelers RB Jaylen Warren will likely not sign with the team once his rookie contract expires at the end of the 2025 season, in the opinion of Pittsburgh Post-Gazette's Gerry Dulac.

Footballguys view: We'll see what Warren can do this season. He's going to be working in a RBBC with 2025 second-round pick Kaleb Johnson. While Johnson is a hammer as a runner (think Demarco Murray), Warren is an efficient player who can work as a runner and receiver out of the backfield. It's tough to get paid as a running back in this league, and Warren may not be as dynamic at the position as the team wants.

Steelers | Aaron Rodgers' saga about to come to an end?    Fri May 23, 02:01 PM

Free-agent QB Aaron Rodgers (Jets) could sign with the Pittsburgh Steelers in the next week or two, in the opinion of ESPN's Adam Schefter.'My guess is, he's going to wind up going (to the Steelers). We've heard Art Rooney, the team owner, say he expects Aaron Rodgers to sign there - and they have a mandatory minicamp from June 10 to 12. I would think that Rodgers is on the table here in the next week or so,' Schefter said during a recent appearance on ESPN Milwaukee's 'Jen, Gabe, and Chewy' podcast.

Footballguys view: Steelers owner Art Rooney II said the team will wait "a little while longer" for Rodgers. Patience may be wearing thin in Pittsburgh, but Rodgers is their best option of what's out there. They only have Mason Rudolph and rookie Will Howard as starting options this year...until Rodgers signs...if he signs.

Las Vegas Raiders DE Maxx Crosby told reporters on Friday, May 23, that he is playing at '100 percent and (with) no hesitation' after undergoing ankle surgery this offseason.

Footballguys view: The Raiders are happy with this update. Crosby totaled 7.5 sacks for the Raiders in 12 games last season before suffering an ankle injury that required surgery. Earlier this offseason, the Raiders signed Crosby to a three-year, $106.5 million contract extension. Having him at full strength is a huge boost for the Raiders defense in 2025 playing in a division with great quarterbacks like Patrick Mahomes, Justin Herbert, and Bo Nix.

Browns | Cleveland won't split reps at QB equally    Fri May 23, 01:09 PM

Cleveland Browns QBs Joe Flacco, Kenny Pickett, Dillon Gabriel and Shedeur Sanders will not each get 25% of the reps during offseason work or training camp, according to head coach Kevin Stefanski.'The big thing for us is making sure that we give the guys enough reps that they need. ... It is not going to be everybody getting 25% of these reps. That is not how it is going to be. We want to give everybody enough reps where we can learn more about them and prepare them to get ready to play,' Stefanski told ESPN Cleveland.

Footballguys view: Flacco is likely to (now) get the most starter's reps. Pickett could get some more work with rookies Gabriel and Sanders getting clean up duty. Any of these four could start for the team at some point this year, perhaps even all are in play for the Week 1 job. It's a bit of a mess, and if you're a guy like Sanders there is little room for error since the reps merely won't be there to start.

Footballguys view: Saints QB Jake Haener (oblique) suffered an oblique strain Wednesday and will likely be out of action until training camp. Shough is the rookie who could win the starting job. Rattler was the late-round pick from a year ago that had some buzz around him coming into the league. We'll see these two battle it out in training camp and the preseason.

Saints | New Orleans WRs appear to be in good shape    Fri May 23, 06:00 AM

New Orleans Saints WRs Rashid Shaheed (knee) and Chris Olave (head) 'look completely recovered' from their season-ending injuries last season, according to Matthew Paras of The Times-Picayune.

Footballguys view: Good news for the Saints here. Shaheed suffered a meniscus injury last year that was repaired in mid-October. Olave suffered his fifth recorded concussion in early November (his second of the 2024 season) and was shut down after that. When healthy, Shaheed and Olave are dangerous with breakaway speed and field-flipping ability.

Lions | Extension talks to begin for Aidan Hutchinson?    Fri May 23, 01:53 AM

Detroit Lions DE Aidan Hutchinson (leg) is fully cleared to practice, and contract extension talks are expected to 'kickstart' now that he is healthy, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

Footballguys view: Hutchinson said he has been "fully cleared" to return from the fractured tibia and fibula he suffered in 2024. Now, it's time for the two sides to talk contract. He's one of the best in the business at the EDGE position, but this injury may keep his next contract from being a market-resetting deal.

Panthers | Tetairoa McMillan gets seal of approval from fellow WR    Fri May 23, 12:18 AM

Carolina Panthers WR Tetairoa McMillan is 'that guy,' according to fellow receiver and new teammate Adam Thielen.'He's a big long receiver that has phenomenal body control and can make contested catches and can play a lot of different spots, which, in this league, in my opinion, to be a great receiver in this league, you have to be able to play in the slot, you have to be able to play outside, you have to be able to run a lot of different routes and make contested catches. So, from the little I've seen, he's that guy,' Thielen told the team's website recently.

Footballguys view: It's high praise from a veteran like Thielen, and for good reason; McMillan might be the best wide receiver from this draft class. He's got a dash of Mike Evans to his game, and McMillan can win in many different ways. With McMillan's natural talent (and his big body being a red zone threat), Fantasy GMs like him as a WR3/WR4 with upside.
