Giants | Russell Wilson No. 1 quarterback Wednesday    Wed May 28, 01:59 PM

New York Giants QB Russell Wilson received most of the work with the first-team offense during practice Wednesday, May 28.

Footballguys view: While Wilson took most of the first-team snaps, rookie Jaxson Dart and Jameis Winston also snuck in a few. Tommy DeVito fit in for four third-team reps throughout the practice. "They'll all get reps," coach Brian Daboll said of the plan for the QBs this spring. But make no mistake: Wilson is expected to begin the season as New York's starter after signing a one-year deal with the franchise in March. Even at that, holding on to the job will likely depend on overall team success. Because of that, Wilson opens as QB30 on the Footballguys 2025 Projections.

Titans | Treylon Burks takes part in some drills    Wed May 28, 01:58 PM

Tennessee Titans WR Treylon Burks (knee) participated in individual drills during practice Wednesday, May 28.

Footballguys view: While Burks is taking part in individual drills, he may not be cleared for team drills or contact. Still, it is a significant first step for Burks. Just a couple of weeks ago, head coach Brian Callahan said that he didn't expect Burks, who has been a disappointment during his time in Nashville, to be available until the start of the season, recovering from the torn ACL he suffered during the 2024 season. Remember, the Titans declined to pick up his fifth-year option a month ago, and Burks isn't a lock to earn a roster spot.

Commanders | Terry McLaurin not at practice    Wed May 28, 01:42 PM

Washington Commanders WR Terry McLaurin is not participating in practice Wednesday, May 28.

Footballguys view: It's time to remind everyone that, at this point in the offseason, everything remains voluntary. While it's unclear if McLaurin's absence is contract-related, the wideout is entering the final year of his current deal, which is set to pay him $15.5 million in base salary with a $25.5 million cap number. One of the league's most consistent receivers, McLaurin caught 82 passes for 1,096 yards with a career-high 13 touchdowns in 2024. He has played all 17 games in each of the last four seasons, eclipsing 1,000 yards every year. McLaurin is WR17 on the Footballguys 2025 Projections.

Packers | Matthew Golden works as returner    Wed May 28, 01:27 PM

Green Bay Packers WR Matthew Golden worked as a punt returner during practice Wednesday, May 28.

Footballguys view: As Profootballtalk.com noted, the Packers snapped a streak of more than two decades when they selected Golden in the first round of the NFL Draft. While the team needs a deep threat on offense with Chrisitan Watson recovering from a torn ACL, it's worth remembering Golden ran the fastest 40 at this year's Scouting Combine. The Packers have downplayed the need for a No. 1 receiver while stockpiling wideouts over the last few years, but given the draft capital expended, exploring all the possible ways to maximize Golden's speed and play-making ability seems wise.

Giants | Malik Nabers battling lingering toe issue    Wed May 28, 10:30 AM

New York Giants WR Malik Nabers (toe) is still rehabbing a toe injury from last season, which has bothered him since college, and he won't do much this spring. Head coach Brian Daboll said Nabers didn't have a procedure, and they're just being cautious.

Footballguys view: Don't let the toe scare you off. Despite missing two games and playing with four different quarterbacks (Daniel Jones, Tommy DeVito, Drew Lock, and Tim Boyle), Nabers finished his first season as a pro with 109 total catches -- a rookie wide receiver record. Nabers' 273.6 fantasy points ranked sixth at the position in 2024 and ranked eighth all-time for rookies. He finished as WR6 with 18.1 points per game. He has WR1 upside any given week. That won't change this year, whether it's Russell Wilson, the pass-happy Jameis Winston, or rookie Jaxson Dart as his QB.

Falcons | Younghoe Koo Embracing Competition In Atlanta    Wed May 28, 09:54 AM

Younghoe Koo is the Falcons' returning kicker, but he is not the favorite for the job. The team signed German kicker Lenny Krieg to a three-year, $2.975 million contract, an indication they plan on him competing to be the kicker in 2025. Koo embraces the competition. "It's not my first time having a kicker in the locker room with me throughout OTAs or training camp, but it's just kind of how it is in the NFL," Koo said via Will McFadden of the team website. "He's a great dude. He works hard."

Footballguys view: As PFT notes, Koo injured his right hip last season, landing on injured reserve. The injury did not require surgery, only injections, and he said he was "pretty full-go" a couple of weeks after the season ended. Koo converted only 25 of his 34 attempts last season, a success rate of 73.5 percent. That ranked him 29th in the league, which is why he will have to win his job back.

Patriots | Kyle Williams could push for starting role    Wed May 28, 01:42 AM

New England Patriots WR Kyle Williams is the team's 'X-factor' at receiver, in the opinion of The Athletic's Chad Graff, who writes that the rookie 'excels off the line of scrimmage, was great against man coverage in college and wins downfield,' which Graff notes were 'three traits the Patriots sorely lacked last season.' Graff adds that 'a lot rides on Williams' development,' as he could become a starter opposite WR Stefon Diggs (knee) with WR Demario Douglas in the slot.

Footballguys view: While we have Diggs (as WR39) and Douglas (as WR76) as our highest projected Patriots receivers for redraft, Williams is absolutely as described by The Athletic. Footballguy Cecil Lammey notes that Williams has the speed to flip the field on any catch. Given that, Williams is WR8 on the Footballguys Rookie Rankings.

Patriots | Stefon Diggs unlikely to be ready in Week 1?    Wed May 28, 01:01 AM

New England Patriots WR Stefon Diggs (knee) could 'maybe reasonably' make his debut around Week 4, in the opinion of The Athletic's Chad Graff, who writes that Diggs' recovery and return to form will be essential for QB Drake Maye to take the next step. Diggs is recovering from a torn ACL suffered on Oct. 27, 2024.

Footballguys view: Although not yet fully cleared for all football activities, Diggs is doing plenty to impress his new teammates in New England. Reports indicate the veteran wideout has looked athletic and explosive while participating in voluntary offseason workouts. Assuming he hits the timetable outlined above, a healthy Diggs, who finished as a WR2 or better (including five WR1 finishes) every season from 2017 through 2023, could provide a boost to fantasy teams. He's currently being drafted as WR45 in Round 7 of early best balls.

Falcons | Kirk Cousins likely to remain in Atlanta?    Wed May 28, 12:21 AM

Updating an earlier report, Atlanta Falcons QB Kirk Cousins is expected to remain the backup for the Falcons this season, in the opinion of NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, who notes there's no financial incentive to release Cousins, whose contract contained $100 million in guarantees. Cousins, who Rapoport noted would prefer to be released, did not report for the start of Atlanta's organized team activities (OTAs) on Tuesday, May 27.

Footballguys view: The Falcons are moving forward with Michael Penix Jr. as the starting quarterback, so having Cousins around could be awkward, but it's not the end of the world. That said, Cousins wants to move on. But at this point, he's largely out of options. Unless Aaron Rodgers doesn't sign with the Steelers, there's no current destination. As Profootballtalk.com suggests, "The best play is to wait" for a trade opportunity to emerge. If it doesn't, Rapoport's expectation would become the likely outcome.

Panthers | Jalen Coker nursing minor injury    Tue May 27, 08:49 PM

Carolina Panthers WR Jalen Coker (undisclosed) was held out of organized team activities on Tuesday, May 27, as a precaution, according to head coach Dave Canales. Coker is dealing with an undisclosed soft-tissue injury.

Footballguys view: The undrafted free agent made a significant impact last year, finishing the season third on the team in receiving with 478 yards in just 11 games (four starts). As SI.com noted, Coker trailed only Adam Thielen (615) and fellow rookie Xavier Legette (497) in that category. Twenty-three of Coker's 32 catches were good for first downs. Even with the addition of first-round draft pick Tetairoa McMillan, Coker will have a prominent role. He won't rush back from this issue, but it doesn't seem like a long-term problem.

Panthers | Hunter Renfrow making an impression    Tue May 27, 04:03 PM

Carolina Panthers WR Hunter Renfrow '(has) a lot in his game' and 'just makes these huge strides (weekly),' according to head coach Dave Canales.'You see weekly, he just makes these huge strides, just getting his feet under him. And I can tell too, just having coached wide receivers especially, but he's got a lot in his game. Releases, top-of-the-route setup, avoidance, different things where he can double up stuff at the top of his routes. And you can see him kinda working through his inventory, kinda his tool bag - if you will. And it's been really cool, just to watch him, as his feet get underneath him and the explosiveness and all the little things show up, it's been really fun to see,' Canales told reporters on Tuesday, May 27.

Footballguys view: Renfrow was out of the league last season, but he caught 103 passes for 1,038 yards and nine touchdowns for the Raiders in 2021, a breakout after a pair of solidly productive years (105 catches in 2019 and 2020 combined). In five seasons, he has 269 catches for 2,884 yards and 17 touchdowns. In Carolina, he joins a receiving corps with a pair of first-round picks in Tetairoa McMillan and Xavier Legettet, veteran Adam Thielen, and second-year man Jalen Coker. If nothing else, Renfrow brings a different skill set to the offense.

Broncos | Denver happy with Kris Abrams-Draine's development    Tue May 27, 03:41 PM

Denver Broncos CB Kris Abrams-Draine 'was probably the rookie that we felt was the furthest behind after OTAs and (last) summer,' but proved quickly that '(the NFL) wasn't too big for him,' according to general manager George Paton.'You saw that when we played the (Los Angeles) Chargers on Thursday night, and it wasn't too big for him. He started making plays. He has unique cover skills, really good instincts, and he doesn't get fazed. We're really encouraged with him,' Paton told reporters in March.

Jaguars | Dyami Brown standing out    Tue May 27, 03:24 PM

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Dyami Brown has been 'really productive' throughout the early part of the team's offseason work, according to head coach Liam Coen.'He's made a lot of plays. He's been really productive throughout this whole camp so far. Showing versatility to maybe do some things that he hadn't put on tape in the past or wasn't asked to do from his skill set standpoint. I thought obviously very productive towards the halfway point of last year, into the playoffs, and then you see that confidence continuing to grow throughout this camp and this offseason,' Coen told reporters on Tuesday, May 27.

Footballguys view: The Jaguars signed Brown to a one-year, $10 million deal during free agency. GM James Gladstone said the Jaguars see an ascending player in Brown, who totaled 229 yards during Washington's playoff run last season, and someone who can take another step with the opportunities he can earn in Jacksonville. If nothing else, Brown adds another vertical presence to the Jaguars' offense, which will help free up Brian Thomas Jr. to impact other levels of the field more often. So, even though it's early, Brown getting off to a quick start is noteworthy.

Steelers | T.J. Watt away from OTAs    Tue May 27, 03:02 PM

Pittsburgh Steelers LB T.J. Watt did not participate in organized team activities on Tuesday, May 27.

Footballguys view: OTAs are voluntary, but rumors suggest Watt could replicate his infamous 2021 "hold-in" when he skipped team practices in a move that ultimately earned him a $112 million deal. As USA Today noted, several analysts and insiders have predicted that Watt is looking to surpass Myles Garrett's historical four-year, $160 million extension with the Cleveland Browns -- with an emphasis on beating out his $123.5 million in guaranteed money. It's a situation to monitor.

Falcons | Kyle Pitts not present at OTAs    Tue May 27, 02:48 PM

Atlanta Falcons TE Kyle Pitts did not participate in organized team activities on Tuesday, May 27, according to head coach Raheem Morris.

Footballguys view: While it's currently unclear why Pitts is not in attendance, the 24-year-old is entering the last year of his rookie contract after the Falcons picked up his fifth-year option last spring. He's set to earn $10.878 million in 2025. Pitt is being drafted as TE18 in early best balls, going with the 147th pick overall. That 13th-round price isn't cost-prohibitive, but it's not a huge value, either. Pitts finished the 2024 season as TE15, but he was TE23 on a points-per-game basis (with 7.7 points a week).

Panthers | TE Tommy Tremble Should Be Ready For Training Camp After Back Surgery    Tue May 27, 02:07 PM

The Panthers will not have tight end Tommy Tremble on the field for the final phase of their offseason work. Head coach Dave Canales told reporters after Tuesday's practice that Tremble had back surgery recently. He will miss the rest of the spring but is expected to return to action when the team gets to training camp this summer.

Footballguys view: Tremble, who signed a new two-year deal with the Panthers ahead of free agency in March, joined the team as a 2021 third-round pick. He has 85 catches for 782 yards and nine touchdowns in 61 career games. Ja'Tavion Sanders, at TE32 on the Footballguys Projections, is the most fantasy-relevant Panthers tight end.

Falcons | Kirk Cousins absent from OTAs    Tue May 27, 01:54 PM

Atlanta Falcons QB Kirk Cousins was not at organized team activities Tuesday, May 27, according to head coach Raheem Morris. NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reported Cousins has made it clear he wants to play elsewhere in 2025.

Footballguys view: Reports over the weekend suggested Cousins could be the Steelers' fallback option if Aaron Rodgers doesn't sign in Pittsburgh. Cousins holds a no-trade clause, but NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reported the veteran QB has made it clear he wants to play elsewhere in 2025. The Falcons reportedly would like a new team to assume $20 million of Cousins' remaining $37.5 million in guarantees. If the Falcons trade him after June 1, they'll get significant cap relief.   Falcons | Kirk Cousins Not On Hand For OTA Sessions Tuesday    Tue May 27, 12:35 PM

"I did not see him today," head coach Raheem Morris said during his Tuesday press conference. "[H]e did not show up in the meetings, so I did not see him today."

Bills | James Cook Not In Attendance For Start Of OTAs    Tue May 27, 12:12 PM

Almost the entire Buffalo Bills roster is accounted for as the team begins organized team activities but running back James Cook is not in attendance, coach Sean McDermott said Tuesday.

Footballguys view: Cook is coming off his best year, finishing with a franchise record-tying 16 rushing touchdowns after scoring two in each of his first two seasons. Cook has publicly shared his desire for a new contract, including going live on Instagram and pinning "15 mill [per] year." General manager Brandon Beane has reiterated that Cook will be ready to go for the season, but the GM has also made it clear the Bills aren't ready to give Cook the deal he wants. The Bills will hold a mandatory minicamp from June 10-12. Cook will be subject to fines if he misses those sessions.

Bills | Joey Bosa injured    Tue May 27, 11:40 AM

Buffalo Bills EDGE Joey Bosa (calf) suffered a calf injury last week and will miss spring workouts. The hope is he'll be ready by training camp.

Footballguys view: Injuries were a concern when Bosa signed a one-year deal with the Bills this spring. The pass rusher, who will turn 30 in July, has dealt with multiple injuries in the last couple years. Over the last three seasons he has played in 28 of 51 games. We'll be watching for more.

Browns | Harold Fannin Jr.'s YAC ability special    Tue May 27, 10:59 AM

Cleveland Browns TE Harold Fannin Jr.'s ability to run after the catch is what makes his special, and the Browns offense desperately needs, in the opinion of Cleveland.com's Lance Reisland.

Footballguys view: That said, Fannin has limitations. As Reisland explained, playing as a traditional tight end with his hand on the ground and consistently blocking massive NFL defensive linemen will be a limiting factor. Using Fannin in various spots within different formations will maximize his strengths of receiving and blocking in space. This will mean using him as the second tight end along with David Njoku in two-TE sets. The Browns' current lack of depth at receiver could work in Fannin's favor, but fantasy investors should keep expectations in check. He's TE39 on our redraft projections.

Broncos | Evan Engram could see limited offseason work    Mon May 26, 06:12 PM

Denver Broncos TE Evan Engram (shoulder) may see a limited workload during offseason workouts because he is recovering from a shoulder injury.

Footballguys view: The Broncos signed Engram to a two-year, $23 million deal to serve as a "Joker" -- an elite pass-catching TE or RB -- in Sean Payton's offense. A first-round pick of the Giants in 2017, Engram had 114 receptions for Jacksonville in 2023. He was on pace for 89 catches last year when he suffered a season-ending shoulder injury in Week 9. He'll be limited to save wear and tear on that shoulder, but there's no reason to believe he won't be ready for full duty come Week 1.

Denver Broncos LB Alex Singleton (knee) may be a limited participant during offseason workouts because he is not fully recovered from the torn anterior cruciate ligament he suffered during the 2024 season.

Footballguys view: Singleton missed the final 15 games last season with that ACL injury. But his recovery is on schedule, and a cautious approach during OTAs makes sense.

Broncos | Dre Greenlaw to miss workouts    Mon May 26, 06:09 PM

Denver Broncos LB Dre Greenlaw (calf, quadriceps) will not participate in offseason workouts or minicamp but is expected to be ready for the start of training camp.

Footballguys view: Greenlaw missed most of last year because of a torn Achilles suffered in the 2023-season Super Bowl, and there have been injury issues since. Last year, he had a strained calf; he suffered a strained quad early during this offseason. This report further confirms what head coach Sean Payton told reporters in May: Greenlaw will be ready for training camp and the start of the season.

Giants | Jalin Hyatt struggled to escape doghouse in 2024    Mon May 26, 04:00 PM

New York Giants WR Jalin Hyatt 'mentally checked out at points last season after clashing with the coaching staff and upper management,' according to SNY.tv's Connor Hughes.

Footballguys view: Hughes notes that Russell Wilson is still very good at attacking the backend of a defense. His high-arching passes, married with Hyatt's elite-level deep speed, are a fit. If Hyatt shows up with a re-commitment to the playbook, practice, and games and improves his route running, he should be more productive with Wilson than with Daniel Jones, Drew Lock, and Tommy DeVito. This speculation doesn't move Hyatt onto our draft radar, but it's a situation to watch as we get into the season.

Giants | Jaxson Dart unlikely to crack lineup early    Mon May 26, 03:01 PM

New York Giants first-round draft choice QB Jaxson Dart seems unlikely to make his first start until at least Week 10, according to SNY.tv's Connor Hughes.

Footballguys view: According to Hughes, the Giants genuinely believe Russell Wilson can play well, elevate those around him, and make the Giants a competent club this year. Still, uncertainty with head coach Brain Daboll and his job status clouds this. The play of Wilson and Jameis Winston won't bring him back in 2026. What will: His hand-picked quarterback showing signs he can be a franchise signal-caller. Hughes can see Daboll going to Dart even earlier than Week 10 if he feels his job is on the line. The good news? Fantasy managers don't have to join him in this.

Titans | JC Latham in great shape    Mon May 26, 02:44 PM

Tennessee Titans OT JC Latham 'really dedicated himself to changing his body like a lot of first-year players going into their second year find ways to do' this offseason, according to head coach Brian Callahan.'He probably admittedly was heavy at the end of last season as the second half of the year wore on. He learned a lot of lessons himself about what it takes to play tackle in this league. The caliber of players you face every week, and there's no let down. ... JC (Latham) is capable of being an excellent football player and he really dedicated himself to changing his body like a lot of first-year players going into their second year find ways to do. He looks great, he's in great shape, he's moving really well.   Steelers | Report: Kirk Cousins A Possible Fallback Option In Pittsburgh    Mon May 26, 02:19 PM

As the Pittsburgh Steelers wait for Aaron Rodgers to make a decision, they are also keeping an eye on Kirk Cousins' situation with the Atlanta Falcons. Appearing on the Saturday morning edition of SportsCenter, ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reported that Cousins is "at least" on Pittsburgh's "radar" at the moment even though Rodgers remains the team's preferred choice.

Footballguys view: Assuming Rodgers isn't in the mix, Pittsburgh, with Mason Rudolph, Will Howard, and Skylar Thompson on the depth chart, would fit Cousins' criteria of allowing him to start. Fowler acknowledges the Steelers would have to offset some of Cousins' guaranteed money, but the Falcons can save $27.5 million against their 2025 cap if he's traded after June 1. The Steelers haven't indicated a hard deadline for Rodgers to show up, but having him on hand when they report to training camp makes sense.

Steelers | Pittsburgh Set To Begin OTAs; Still No Sign Of Aaron Rodgers    Mon May 26, 02:11 PM

On Tuesday, the Steelers will conduct the first of only six 2025 OTA practices. Barring a sudden and unexpected turn, quarterback Aaron Rodgers won't be there.

Footballguys view: While it's not impossible, chances are Rodgers won't be signed by tomorrow. The question is whether he will show up for any upcoming OTAs over the next two weeks. The Steelers have nine offseason practices before training camp. Without Rodgers, the quarterbacks will be Mason Rudolph, Skylar Thompson, and rookie Will Howard. While Rodgers being the Steelers QB this fall is still the most likely outcome, we'll be watching closely until we get resolution.

Bengals | Joe Burrow talks up Jermaine Burton's offseason    Mon May 26, 01:21 PM

Cincinnati Bengals WR Jermaine Burton has 'matured' and 'in a good spot mentally and physically,' according to recent comments made by Joe Burrow.'I think he's stepped up this year so far. Has taken it very seriously. Has matured, it seems like. Based on the conversations that we have had, he's in a good spot mentally and physically. And he's been working hard, which is exciting to see,' Burrow told Geoff Hobson of Bengals.com.

Footballguys view: Burrow's comments come just days after head coach Zac Taylor offered similar praise, telling reporters that the second-year man has attacked practice the right way this year. As USA Today suggested, if Burton is back on track and reaching for some of that early-round potential, the pool of receiving talent around Burrow will be even deeper. It's a situation worth monitoring, especially for Dynasty investors.
