Jets | Diontae Spencer back with NY Jets Tue Jan 31, 02:09 PM
New York Jets WR Diontae Spencer was signed to a Reserve/Future contract Tuesday, Jan. 31.
Footballguys view: Spencer is a fast receiver, but he is limited to just a slot role. Mostly, he would be asked to return punts and kicks on special teams. |

Tennessee Titans WR Robert Woods is unlikely to play at his current expected base salary of $13.75 million in 2023, according to TennesseeTitans.com's Jim Wyatt.
Footballguys view: This idea has been out there for some time. Woods will need to accept a restructured contract if he wants to stay with the team. New GM Ran Carthon is going to craft the team around the rushing attack, but he's got decisions to make when it comes to the passing game. |

Jacksonville Jaguars QB Nathan Rourke (foot) was scheduled to undergo surgery Monday, Jan. 30, to remove a plate and screws in his foot, according to TSN's Farhan Lalji.
Footballguys view: Undrafted in 2021, Rourke spent time in the Canadian Football League before getting a chance with the Jaguars (he signed a three-year contract after his breakout 2022 season a couple of weeks ago). We love this type of story in deep dynasty formats, so keep monitoring him in his NFL career. |

New York Giants offensive coordinator Mike Kafka is scheduled to interview with the Arizona Cardinals regarding their head coaching vacancy Tuesday, Jan. 31.
Footballguys view: Kafka has been praised a lot by football media for the improvement in the Giants offense and losing him would be a blow to a team that is generating momentum. He is originally from the Andy Reid coaching tree, spending all of his NFL coaching career with the Chiefs, and originally being drafted by Reid back in 2010. |

Former Dallas Cowboys offensive coordinator Kellen Moore agreed to terms on an undisclosed contract to become the new offensive coordinator for the Los Angeles Chargers on Monday, Jan. 30.
Footballguys view: This has to be seen as great news for Justin Herbert and the Chargers offense. It's not clear that Moore was the main person at fault for any perceived problems with the Cowboys offense. |

Cincinnati Bengals offensive coordinator Brian Callahan is receiving interest from the Arizona Cardinals regarding their head coaching position, and the Cardinals have requested permission to interview Callahan, according to sources.
Footballguys view: Bengals defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo is also interviewing with the Cardinals for the head coach position. The Colts have already interviewed Callahan and will be calling him back for a second interview this week, so it's possible that both Cardinals coordinators will get head coach jobs in the upcoming days. |
Former Dallas Cowboys offensive coordinator Kellen Moore is expected to be hired for the same position with the Los Angeles Chargers.

San Francisco 49ers defensive coordinator DeMeco Ryans could meet with the Houston Texans Monday, Jan. 30, and be hired in the next day or two as head coach.
Footballguys view: It looks like Ryans will end up back in Houston, and the Broncos will keep looking for a new head coach. Ryans was one of the most coveted names in this hiring cycle, so it should be considered a win for the slumping Texans franchise if they can get him. |

Link to storyPhiladelphia Eagles LB Haason Reddick collected three tackles, two sacks, a forced fumble, and a fumble recovery during the team's NFC Championship Game win over the San Francisco 49ers.
Footballguys view: Reddick's early sack of Brock Purdy knocked the San Francisco quarterback out of the game and changed the complexion of the NFC Championship Game. The Camden native helped get his hometown team to the Super Bowl. He'll be a key Eagles defensive player as Patrick Mahomes gets healthier over the next two weeks. |

Kansas City Chiefs WR Skyy Moore was good for three receptions for 13 yards on his six targets in the AFC Championship Game against the Cincinnati Bengals, and he ended up with a kick return for 18 yards, and two punt returns for 29 yards.
Footballguys view: Moore's late fourth quarter punt return to near midfield was a big part of how the team won. He'll be asked to play a larger role in the Super Bowl for the injury-riddled Chiefs wide receiver corps. |
Kansas City Chiefs WR Marquez Valdes-Scantling registered six receptions for a game-high 116 yards and a touchdown on eight targets in the AFC Championship Game against the Cincinnati Bengals.
Footballguys view: Valdes-Scantling finally made good on the contract he got from Kansas City this offseason that looked like a waste of money at times during the season. He'll be a key player in the Super Bowl with so many Chiefs receivers banged up. |
Marquez Valdes-Scantling player page
Kansas City Chiefs RB Ronald Jones rushed once for no gain in the AFC Championship Game against the Cincinnati Bengals, and he was not targeted in the pass game.

Kansas City Chiefs RB Jerick McKinnon rushed four times for just one yard in the AFC Championship Game against the Cincinnati Bengals, while adding two grabs for 17 yards on his four targets.
Footballguys view: McKinnon wasn't as impactful as rookie Isaih Pacheco, who outshined the veteran in the passing game for the first time this season. It looks like Pacheco will be the better fantasy play in the Chiefs backfield in the Super Bowl. |
Jerick McKinnon player page
Kansas City Chiefs RB Isiah Pacheco rushed 10 times for a team-best 26 yards in the AFC Championship Game against the Cincinnati Bengals, while adding five receptions for 59 yards on six targets.
Footballguys view: Pacheco was bottled up as a runner, but added value as a receiver with his tackle-breaking ability and determination. His dynasty value continues to increase. |
Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes (ankle) made it through the AFC Championship Game against the Cincinnati Bengals, despite being a little gimpy due to his ankle injury. He completed 29-of-43 passes for 326 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions while running three times for eight yards with a lost fumble.
Footballguys view: Mahomes wasn't 100%, sometimes having trouble driving the ball on his throws and moving when pressured, but he made the throws and the final run (which drew a personal foul on a late hit out of bounds) to give the Chiefs what they needed to advance to the Super Bowl. He should show few, if any effects from the injury against the Eagles. |

Kansas City Chiefs DE Chris Jones posted four total stops, including three of the solo variety, with two sacks, three tackles for loss and five quarterback hits in the AFC Championship Game against the Cincinnati Bengals.
Footballguys view: Jones was arguably the MVP of the game, as his work against the depleted Bengals offensive line kept the Cincinnati offense in check. He also recorded the sack that ended the Bengals last drive to give the ball back to Patrick Mahomes. |

Kansas City Chiefs S Justin Reid registered a game-high seven solo tackles in the AFC Championship Game against the Cincinnati Bengals, and he also added a pass defensed.

Cincinnati Bengals TE Hayden Hurst ended up with four receptions for 37 yards on five targets in the AFC Championship Game against the Kansas City Chiefs.
Footballguys view: Hurst had a big catch on a 3rd and 16 late in the fourth quarter to keep the Bengals chances of winning alive, but otherwise had short gains on his receptions. Hurst will be a free agent, but the Bengals should take a long look at bringing him back if he only costs 3.5 million like he did last offseason. |

Updating a previous report, Cincinnati Bengals WR Tyler Boyd (thigh) ended up with two receptions for 40 yards against the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Championship Game in the first half, but he left the game and was unable to return after the second quarter.

Cincinnati Bengals WR Ja'Marr Chase registered six receptions for 75 yards on eight targets in the AFC Championship Game against the Kansas City Chiefs.
Footballguys view: Chase had a big contested downfield catch to set up a game-tying score, but otherwise didn't have a big impact on the game. He's set to be a first round pick in 2023 fantasy drafts. |
Ja'Marr Chase player page
Cincinnati Bengals WR Tee Higgins ended up with six receptions for 83 yards and a touchdown on 11 targets in the AFC Championship Game against the Kansas City Chiefs.
Footballguys view: Higgins had a terrific contested catch in double coverage for a huge touchdown and didn't disappoint on the big stage. He'll go after his teammate Ja'Marr Chase in 2023 fantasy drafts, but deserves consideration after the top tier goes off of the board. |
Tee Higgins player page
Cincinnati Bengals RB Joe Mixon rushed eight times for just 19 yards in the AFC Championship Game against the Kansas City Chiefs, and he added three receptions for 15 yards on his three targets.
Footballguys view: Mixon was vultured at the goal line by Samaje Perine and didn't play nearly as big a role in the offense as he did last week, as the Bengals curiously went away from the running game that was so successful in the win over the Bills. Save for one massive five touchdown game, Mixon was a fantasy disappointment this year and will go later in 2023 drafts than his late first/early second cost in 2022 drafts. |

Cincinnati Bengals RB Samaje Perine rushed five times for 22 yards and a touchdown in the AFC Championship Game against the Kansas City Chiefs, while adding three receptions for four yards on his four targets.

Cincinnati Bengals QB Joe Burrow completed 26-of-41 passes for 270 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions in the AFC Championship Game against the Kansas City Chiefs, and he rushed four times for a team-high 30 yards.
Footballguys view: Burrow wasn't able to convert on his chance to win with a 20-20 tie on the board late in the fourth. It wasn't his best playoff performance, but Burrow did make some perfect downfield throws to Tee Higgins and Ja'Marr Chase to make this a back and forth affair until the end. Even though it was a disappointing outcome, it's impossible to deny how bright the future is for this team with Burrow at the helm. |

Updating a previous report, San Francisco 49ers QB Brock Purdy (elbow) is believed to have suffered an ulnar collateral ligament injury during the NFC Championship Game against the Philadelphia Eagles, according to sources. He'll undergo an MRI on Monday, Jan. 30. The team is hopeful the ligament is not ruptured, as it would only be a six-week recovery period.
Footballguys view: If Purdy's injury is a rupture, that will end any speculation about who the #1 quarterback for the team will be in the offseason and probably in Week 1 as Trey Lance should be ready to take the field again in March. |
Updating a previous report, Kansas City Chiefs WR Kadarius Toney (ankle) left the AFC Championship Game against the Cincinnati Bengals in the first half, and he has been ruled out for the remainder of the game.
