Dolphins | Tyreek Hill easing back into things Wed Jun 11, 12:06 AM
Miami Dolphins WR Tyreek Hill (wrist) was spotted catching passes during individual drills for the first time on Tuesday, June 10, since undergoing wrist surgery in the offseason.
Footballguys view: Hill is still expected to be ready for the start of training camp even though he underwent that recent procedure to have pins installed in an earlier surgery removed from the wrist. Hill is coming off a disappointing season, but Hill currently sits at WR14 on the Footballguys projections. That's slightly higher than his WR17 average draft position. He can be had in the third round with the 35th pick overall. |

San Francisco 49ers WR Brandon Aiyuk (knee) is not expected to be ready for the start of training camp in late July, according to head coach Kyle Shanahan on Tuesday, June 10.
Footballguys view: Although his timeline is unclear, Aiyuk was spotted lightly jogging and coaching up teammates during Tuesday's practice, a positive sign in his recovery. "He's making his way back," Shanahan said. "He's still in the middle of it. So, he's working through that. He's been around, been rehabbing for the most part, but he's been out to some practices, and it was good to have him out today." Still, with Aiyuk likely sidelined at the start of the 2025 season, Ricky Pearsall and Jauan Jennings are projected as the Week 1 starting wide receivers. |

Atlanta Falcons TE Kyle Pitts (foot) is expected to take things slow during the offseason workouts, head coach Raheem Morris told reporters Tuesday, June 10.
Footballguys view: With Pitts heading into a make-or-break season in Atlanta, ensuring he's healthy for training camp makes sense. Beyond that, Morris discussed the "hope" the team still had in Pitts based on the fact that "he's super talented." That's true. However, as Fansided's Nick Halden suggests, the issue has consistently been Pitts' ability to play through the whistle and put his body on the line to earn the trust of his quarterback. Until this changes, the results are only going to improve marginally, no matter what level of talent Michael Penix Jr. proves to be. |

Seattle Seahawks RB Kenneth Walker III (ankle) has been limited at practice due to an ankle injury, head coach Mike MacDonald told reporters Tuesday, June 10.
Footballguys view: As SBNation's Mookie Alexander reminded readers, Walker's injury-riddled 2024 season ended on IR after suffering an ankle injury against the Vikings. He also dealt with calf and oblique injuries that resulted in missed time earlier in the year. With just 11 games played, Walker had a career-low 573 rushing yards and no carries longer than 28 yards. Given that context, Walker missing time isn't ideal. Also, it's June. We'll revisit this issue when the Seahawks open training camp. In the meantime, Zach Charbonnet, Kenny McIntosh, rookie Damien Martinez, and 2024 UDFA George Holani will get more turns in minicamp. |
Cincinnati Bengals first-round draft choice DE Shemar Stewart (Texas A&M) is not participating in mandatory minicamp as the team continues to insist on a clause that allows it to void future guarantees on rookie contracts. Stewart has yet to practice in any fashion with the team since he was drafted nearly two months ago.

Link to storyTampa Bay Buccaneers OT Tristan Wirfs (knee) did not participate in mandatory minicamp practice on Tuesday, June 10, and was spotted with a brace on his right knee. Head coach Todd Bowles told reporters after practice that the team is taking a 'precautionary approach' with Wirfs and the expectation is he will 'be fine' for training camp.
Link to storyJ.K. Dobbins, the Comeback Player of the Year finalist, is signing with the Broncos on a one-year, $5.25 million deal, sources tell NFL Network's Tom Pelisser and Ian Rapoport.
Footballguys view: It's not a huge surprise. Head coach Sean Payton likes to use a two-back system and seemed interested after Dobbins first visited the team last Thursday. Now that it's come to pass, Footballguy Cecil Lammey expects Dobbins to serve as the 1A to rookie RJ Harvey's 1B in Denver's backfield. Still only 26, Dobbins had over 1,000 yards from scrimmage and nine TDs in 13 games last season with the Chargers. |

After participating in offseason workouts until the start of organized team activities, Terry McLaurin did not report to mandatory minicamp, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported Tuesday, per sources. Washington's minicamp began Tuesday and runs through Thursday. Players who skip mandatory minicamp practices are subject to fines, per the collective bargaining agreement.
Footballguys view: McLaurin signed a three-year, $68.2 million extension with Washington in 2022, but is entering the final year of that deal in 2025 and is seeking a new contract prior to taking the field. Averaging $23.2 million on his current deal, McLaurin is 16th in annual average among wide receivers -- and second on his team behind new addition Deebo Samuel ($23.8 million per year). At this point in the offseason, McLaurin is protecting his greatest asset -- his health -- while money is still on the table. |

Joe Flacco and Kenny Pickett are competing with rookies Dillon Gabriel and Shedeur Sanders for the starting job with the Browns, and the first day of mandatory minicamp saw the youngest players get the most work. After the session was over, head coach Kevin Stefanski told reporters at a press conference that was part of a plan to the fullest possible evaluation of all the players. "We try to be intentional about everything," Stefanski said. "Certainly, Joe had fewer reps today. That's obviously on purpose. Just trying to get as much evaluation on the guys as we can."
Footballguys view: Practice reps in quarterback competitions are always closely monitored and the most watched one this year may be in Cleveland. That being the case, it's easy to read too much into the day-by-day workloads. The good news? As PFT suggests, the Browns aren't going to be making any Week 1 decisions in the immediate future, so there will be a lot more counting of reps to come before September gets here. We'll be following along. |

Seattle Seahawks P Michael Dickson reportedly agreed to terms on a four-year contract extension worth $16.2 million on Tuesday, June 10.
Link to storyChicago Bears WR Luther Burden III (undisclosed) is expected to fully recover from the undisclosed injury he suffered during rookie minicamp by the start of training camp in late July, according to head coach Ben Johnson.
Footballguys view: As CBSSports.com notes, Burden sustained an undisclosed soft-tissue injury during rookie minicamp and has been sidelined since. It looks like the rookie second-round pick won't get in any work at mandatory minicamp, notable reps to miss given that Burden already sat out voluntary OTAs. Once healthy at training camp, Burden will work to make up for lost time and secure the No. 3 receiver role behind DJ Moore and Rome Odunze. |
Jacksonville Jaguars QB Trevor Lawrence (arm), who was spotted wearing a throwing sleeve at the start of mandatory minicamp, is experiencing 'general soreness,' according to head coach Liam Coen.
Footballguys view: Lawrence went through the entire practice, throwing the ball during the session, but the sleeve raised questions from the media in attendance. "We threw a lot of balls last week," Coen explained. "He feels good. He said it wasn't really an issue . . . I think it was more just maintenance than anything that was really bothering him." Lawrence's 2024 season ended because of left shoulder surgery, but it doesn't appear that the current issue with his throwing arm is a risk to put him back on the sideline. We'll follow up as needed. |

Atlanta Falcons QB Kirk Cousins reported for mandatory minicamp Tuesday, June 10, according to The Insiders. 'We're moving forward and it's about how we as a team and as a quarterback room can be the best we can be in 2025,' Cousins said.
Footballguys view: While Atlanta has turned the page to second-year quarterback Michael Penix Jr., the club is set to keep Cousins as a backup for 2025. Cousins would like to be a starter, but absent an injury, it appears starting slots for the coming season have been filled. Cousins will make $27.5 million in base salary for the 2025 season on the four-year contract he signed as a free agent last offseason. Though he had attended some of the Falcons' voluntary workouts, it's unclear what level of participation Cousins will have with the club this week. |

Updating an ongoing story, Indianapolis Colts QB Anthony Richardson (shoulder) remains without a timeline to return after visiting Dr. Neal ElAttrache, the surgeon who operated on Richardson's AC joint last year, in Los Angeles for a checkup, according to head coach Shane Steichen.
Footballguys view: As Profootballtalk.com reminded readers, Richardson had surgery to repair the AC joint in his right shoulder after suffering an injury during his rookie season. Steichen noted last week that Richardson had reported soreness in the throwing shoulder during the offseason program. Richardson is competing with Daniel Jones to be the Colts' starter to open the season. While it seems likely Richardson will return at some point during training camp, Jones will benefit from the opportunity to begin separating himself in the battle between the two former first-round picks. |

Arizona Cardinals DT Walter Nolen signed a four-year contract Tuesday, June 10. Per NFL rules, the team has a fifth-year option as Nolen was a first-round selection. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Link to storyMinnesota Vikings TE Josh Oliver agreed to terms on a three-year, $23.25 million contract extension Tuesday, June 10, according to a source. The maximum value is $27.5 million, and Oliver will receive $19.9 million in guaranteed money.
Footballguys view: Profootballtalk.com notes that Oliver was heading into the third and final year of the three-year, $21 million contract he signed with the Vikings in 2023. He was originally a third-round pick of the Jaguars in 2019 and was traded to the Ravens in 2021 before signing with the Vikings in 2023. Last season, Oliver played in 15 games with 12 starts on offense and also played 30 percent of the Vikings' special teams snaps. |

Houston Texans QB C.J. Stroud (shoulder) is throwing at minicamp Tuesday, June 10.
Footballguys view: Stroud was limited in recent OTA sessions due to a tight pectoral muscle, an issue that was characterized as "relatively minor" last week. Stoud throwing during today's session suggests that's the case. Stroud is going as QB16 in Round 10 in early best ball drafts. While his Footballguys QB20 projection isn't as optimistic, that price might be appealing to those taking a shot on a QB2 who delivered QB1 numbers just two years ago. |
C.J. Stroud player page
Buffalo Bills RB James Cook is attending minicamp Tuesday, June 10, but it's unclear if he'll participate as he seeks a new contract.
Footballguys view: Cook did not attend the team's voluntary portion of the offseason program. But the fact that he's in attendance for minicamp could be a positive sign of negotiations, even if Cook doesn't do much on the field. A second-round pick in 2022, Cook is entering the final year of his rookie contract. He has rushed for 1,000 yards in each of the last two seasons and led the league with 16 rushing TDs in 2024. Cook's RB14 Average Draft Position and the associated late-third-round price aren't far off his RB11 finish last season. |
Miami Dolphins TE Jonnu Smith is not at the team's minicamp Tuesday, June 10.
Footballguys view: Smith is seeking a new contract in Miami after setting a club tight end record with 884 receiving yards on 88 catches with eight touchdowns last year. Smith is set to earn $4.1 million in 2025. While the Dolphins had some discussions about trading Smith, no deal has come to pass. As NFL.com notes, head coach Mike McDaniel has acknowledged Smith is a vital cog in the Dolphins offense. Miami would be hard-pressed to fill that role if it were to trade the 29-year-old. Remember: Smith will be subject to more than $100,000 in fines for missing the three-day session. |
Jonnu Smith player page
Miami Dolphins CB Jalen Ramsey is not at the team's minicamp Tuesday, June 10.
Footballguys view: Ramsey's absence is excused, per head coach Mike McDaniel, and therefore, he will not be fined. The Dolphins are in the process of trying to trade the Pro Bowl corner, so it makes sense that they wouldn't require his presence during minicamp. |
Jalen Ramsey player page
Cincinnati Bengals DE Trey Hendrickson is not at the team's minicamp Tuesday, June 10.
Footballguys view: As NFL.com notes, the veteran pass rusher has been trying to get a new deal for the past several years. This offseason, things turned contentious, with no progress made on an extension. The club allowed Hendrickson to seek a trade earlier this offseason, but interested teams shied away from giving up draft capital and paying the salary he's seeking. Hendrickson has said he has no plans on playing for Cincy without a new contract. Skipping minicamp, which will subject him to more than $100,000 in fines, is the next phase of what continues to be a protracted battle. |
Trey Hendrickson player page
Pittsburgh Steelers LB T.J. Watt is not attending the team's minicamp Tuesday, June 10.
Footballguys view: Watt is seeking a new contract as he enters the final year of an extension he signed in 2021, with a base salary of $21.05 million. Watt currently sits as the seventh-highest-paid edge rusher in average annual salary at $28.003 million. According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, talks with Watt haven't progressed in Pittsburgh. But when it's struck, a new deal should come in well above that for one of the NFL's best pass rushers. Watt has finished with double-digit sacks in six of the past seven seasons -- with only the injury-shortened 2022 season as the outlier. |

Tennessee Titans QB Will Levis should not be 'count[ed] out' for the starting job, according to ESPN's Turron Davenport, who noted comments made by head coach Brian Callahan that there'd be a competition during minicamp and training camp.
Footballguys view: Titans coach Brian Callahan said there will be a competition during minicamp and training camp. Both quarterbacks took turns starting in 7-on-7s and team periods during OTAs. Even so, the expectation is rookie Cam Ward, the first pick overall in April's NFL Draft, will be the Week 1 starter. Defensive coordinator Dennard Wilson is already impressed with Ward's vision and ability to find the open receiver. That's an early sign of progress. But the best way to prepare Ward is to increase reps, especially with the first team. We'll be watching for that in training camp. |
Will Levis player page
Indianapolis Colts QB Daniel Jones has an 'ideal opportunity' to show the team he can be the starting quarterback during this week's mandatory minicamp, in the opinion of ESPN's Stephen Holder, who notes it 'offers a chance to build some continuity with his receivers and offensive linemen in full-squad workouts.' Jones is set to compete with QB Anthony Richardson (shoulder), who will miss the entire camp due to a shoulder injury, for the starting job, but Jones should be in line to get most, if not all, of the first-team reps here.
Footballguys view: The Colts wanted a quarterback competition this offseason, but Richardson's aggravated shoulder injury likely ended hopes of that at minicamp. That injury has already given Jones an edge in the QB battle. This week offers a chance to build some continuity with his receivers and offensive linemen in full-squad workouts, as Jones won't be sharing first-team snaps as planned. |

Minnesota Vikings WR Justin Jefferson has participated in voluntary workouts this offseason because he is working on building chemistry with QB J.J. McCarthy.
Footballguys view: As ESPN.com's Kevin Seifert noted, it's easy to understand why Vikings coach Kevin O'Connell lobbied Jefferson to attend the voluntary workouts that he skipped in recent years. Early June is a better time to work through the twists of a quarterback-receiver relationship than July, August, or beyond -- especially when one of them has as many unique traits as Jefferson. Despite playing with five different starting quarterbacks, Jefferson still ranked atop the NFL with an average of 96.6 yards per game. But time on task matters, and it's great to see Jefferson getting in the work with McCarthy. |

Los Angeles Chargers offensive coordinator Greg Roman said he plans on have WR Ladd McConkey line up at multiple spots this upcoming season.
Footballguys view: McConkey had a phenomenal rookie campaign. He finished with a team-high 1,149 receiving yards on 82 catches while adding seven touchdowns. The former Georgia product spent most of his time in the slot, but it makes sense to make it harder for defenses to plan for him -- and easier for Roman to create mismatches with him. McConkey is being drafted as WR11 with the 22nd pick overall. |
Jacksonville Jaguars WR/CB Travis Hunter has been working exclusively at wide receiver during the three voluntary workouts open to the media this offseason, according to ESPN.com's Michael DiRocco.
Footballguys view: That said, Hunter has spent time at the corner in several closed workouts, and coach Liam Coen has been impressed. "The movement skills and some of the man coverages, the feel in zone [coverage], you can definitely see how natural it is for him," Coen said. "When you see him in the 7-on-7 and team settings, he does not look out of place by any means." Hunter's average draft position has risen to WR29. His play-making ability warrants that spot. Still, week-to-week consistency might be an issue, given the dual role. |
Free-agent RB Cam Akers (Vikings) will be participating in the New Orleans Saints mandatory minicamp this week on a tryout basis, according to a source.
Footballguys view: The Saints have Kendre Miller, Devin Neal, and Clyde Edwards-Helaire behind Alvin Kamara at the position. Akers, 25, spent last season with the Texans and Vikings. Between the two teams, he rushed for 444 yards and two touchdowns on 104 carries and added 14 catches for 68 yards and three touchdowns. The Rams made Akers a second-round pick in 2020, and he played in Los Angeles until the team traded him to the Vikings during the 2023 season. He signed with the Texans last offseason, and Houston traded him to Minnesota on Oct. 15. |

New York Jets WR Malachi Corley (undisclosed) missed some of the voluntary workouts because of an undisclosed injury and his status for the mandatory minicamp is uncertain.
Footballguys view: As ESPN.com's Rich Cimini suggested, it's time for Corley, a former third-round pick who's coming off a disappointing rookie year, to make his move. Remember, a new front office and coaching staff have no loyalty to him. They also don't know how he fits. The more Corley has to sit out with injuries, the harder it will be for the new staff to figure out his role. |
New York Jets WR Allen Lazard and WR Josh Reynolds are believed to be the two leading candidates for the No.2 receiver job entering training camp, in the opinion of ESPN.com's Rich Cimini.
Footballguys view: There were rumors earlier this year that Lazard might be sent to the Steelers based on the notion Aaron Rodgers would sign in Pittsburgh. Now that Rodgers is officially a Steeler, we'll see if they show interest in Lazard. The team used a third-round pick last year on Malachi Corley, thinking he'd be a starter, but he's out because of an undisclosed injury after a disappointing rookie year. In the end, it's hard to get excited about any of the Jets' wideouts not named Wilson. |
Josh Reynolds player page
Tennessee Titans WR Treylon Burks (knee) has not been cleared to participate in team drills at this point.
Footballguys view: Burks is still recovering from an injury during the early part of OTAs, but he is doing some work on the side of practices. Injuries have plagued him throughout his career, and with Burks' original head coach and general manager no longer in Tennessee, many have theorized that he could be a trade candidate this season. Head coach Brian Callahan seemed to downplay that notion, but it's hard to imagine a scenario in which Burks is fantasy-relevant as a Titan. |
Tennessee Titans RB Kalel Mullings (undisclosed) was been limited during voluntary workouts but may be moving closer to full participation, in the opinion of TitansWire's Mike Mihalko.
Link to storyRB Nick Chubb has now passed his physical and signed with Houston, sources say. The former Browns Pro Bowler agreed to terms over the weekend and is getting a 1-year, $2.5M deal that can be worth up to $5M.
Footballguys view: As previously noted, Chubb will join a Texans backfield that features Joe Mixon, Dameon Pierce, rookie Woody Marks, and Dare Ogunbowale. This development will almost certainly drive Mixon's RB15 Average Draft Position down, and Chubb's RB61 spot might rise some. Mixon remains a solid RB2 until further notice, while Chubb becomes a more interesting flier now that we know his destination. |

Atlanta Falcons QB Kirk Cousins is expected to show up for mandatory minicamp on Tuesday, June 10. Cousins attended team workouts in April but was not present for voluntary OTAs in May.
Footballguys view: Cousins signed a four-year deal with Atlanta last March, but the Falcons later used a first-round pick on Michael Penix Jr., and Penix replaced Cousins as the team's starter during the 2024 season. Cousins is guaranteed $27.5 million in salary this season, and the Falcons have said that they are comfortable keeping him on the roster as a backup to Penix. As Profootballtalk.com suggests, Cousins has been less enthusiastic about the prospect of staying with the team, but no trade has materialized, and moving him may take an injury somewhere else at some point in the summer or fall. |

Free-agent RB Nick Chubb (Browns) reportedly passed his physical with the Houston Texans on Monday, June 9, which was reportedly the only potential obstacle keeping him from signing with the team.
Footballguys view: Chubb, a second-round pick in the 2018 draft, spent his first seven seasons with the Browns. He served as a true workhorse for Cleveland over five seasons, rushing for over 1,000 yards in all but his rookie season (when he finished with 996) and scoring eight or more total touchdowns each of his first five seasons. But his last two years were marred by season-ending injuries. Now, it appears Chubb will get a fresh start in a Texans backfield that features Joe Mixon, Dameon Pierce, rookie Woody Marks, and Dare Ogunbowale. |

New England Patriots WR DeMario Douglas has 'gotten better' and 'picked up everything that we have asked him to do,' according to head coach Mike Vrabel on Monday, June 9.'I love the person. I love his attitude. I love his spirit. He loves to practice. He loves to play this game; he loves football....He's gotten better....He's picked up everything that we've asked him to do,' Vrabel told reporters during his Monday presser.
Footballguys view: The Patriots drafted Douglas in the sixth round of the 2023 NFL Draft, and he quickly proved himself. However, things have not been easy for Douglas, as he's played under three different head coaches in his first three seasons in the NFL. It started with Bill Belichick, where Douglas finished the year with 49 receptions for 561 receiving yards and zero touchdowns. Then, under Jerod Mayo, he recorded 66 receptions for 621 receiving yards and three receiving touchdowns. Now, it's time to see what he can do with Vrabel. Douglas opens as WR81 on the Footballguys Projections. |

Baltimore Ravens TE Isaiah Likely has been 'the toughest guy to cover in practice so far,' according to teammate - and 2025 first-round pick - S Malaki Starks.
Footballguys view: Last season, the Ravens had two tight ends they relied on every game, with Mark Andrews and Likely. Andrews led the Ravens among tight ends in receiving yards with 673 yards on 69 catches, while Isaiah Likely also had a key role in the offense with 477 yards of his own. But Likely is the longer-term answer in Baltimore, and reports like this confirm what we've seen flashes of the last three seasons. |
Jacksonville Jaguars P Logan Cooke signed a four-year contract extension on Monday, June 9. Financial terms of the deal were not immediately disclosed.

Footballguys view: Moore, who signed a one-year deal with Buffalo, caught a career-high 61 passes for 538 yards and one touchdown last season for the Cleveland Browns. Currently being drafted as WR107, Moore is the definition of a free-square play and it will take more than hyperbolic language from teammates to change that. |

When it became obvious that a divorce was looming between the Jets and quarterback Aaron Rodgers, the Steelers became an obvious potential destination for 2025. And while that's where he ultimately landed, he reportedly wasn't Pittsburgh's Plan A. ESPN's Adam Schefter recently said the Steelers had two prior choices before settling on Rodgers.
Footballguys view: First, they targeted Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford during the week or so that his status in L.A. was unresolved. Then, Pittsburgh tried to keep quarterback Justin Fields. After Fields opted to sign with the Jets (on a two-year, $40 million deal), the team turned their attention to Rodgers, who will make his debut Tuesday at the Steelers' mandatory minicamp. Still, the Steelers originally hoped it would be someone else: Stafford or Fields. And, as Profootballtalk.com notes, if they hadn't lowballed Fields, they would have had him instead of Rodgers. |

After receiver Stefon Diggs got himself into a bit of controversy, he's been with the team to end the club's offseason program -- including at minicamp this week. Head coach Mike Vrabel was asked about Diggs and how he's done in the building on Monday. "Good. I mean, he's tried to figure out where everything is and what his role is, making sure that as we add those situations -- the third down, the no-huddle, the red zone -- that he's staying up on it," Vrabel said in his press conference. "He's working hard in his rehab, and when he can -- there's certain drills he can be out there and certain drills he won't be. But I think he's engaged, and I like his energy."
Footballguys view: As Profootballtalk.com suggests, that's about all the Patriots can ask for as Diggs continues to rehab from a torn ACL suffered midway through the 2024 season. In eight games for Houston last year, Diggs caught 47 passes for 496 yards with three touchdowns. A healthy Diggs would likely be the top receiving asset in New England. He's being drafted as WR43 in early drafts. |

I probably added about six pounds. I lost a lot of body fat. I gained a lot of muscle. That's why it might look like I'm a little bigger, but yeah, just offseason, working hard, focusing on my body, getting prepared for the season,' Wright said.
