Ravens | Isaiah Likely surprising rookie safety Mon Jun 9, 02:44 PM
Baltimore Ravens TE Isaiah Likely has been 'the toughest guy to cover in practice so far,' according to teammate - and 2025 first-round pick - S Malaki Starks.
Footballguys view: Last season, the Ravens had two tight ends they relied on every game, with Mark Andrews and Likely. Andrews led the Ravens among tight ends in receiving yards with 673 yards on 69 catches, while Isaiah Likely also had a key role in the offense with 477 yards of his own. But Likely is the longer-term answer in Baltimore, and reports like this confirm what we've seen flashes of the last three seasons. |
Jacksonville Jaguars P Logan Cooke signed a four-year contract extension on Monday, June 9. Financial terms of the deal were not immediately disclosed.
Link to storyBuffalo Bills WR Elijah Moore is 'going to be a big-time player for us,' according to teammate Tre'Davious White.'He's gonna be a big-time player for us. Route running is amazing, getting in and out, his breaks (are) amazing,' White told Bills Digest.
Footballguys view: Moore, who signed a one-year deal with Buffalo, caught a career-high 61 passes for 538 yards and one touchdown last season for the Cleveland Browns. Currently being drafted as WR107, Moore is the definition of a free-square play and it will take more than hyperbolic language from teammates to change that. |

When it became obvious that a divorce was looming between the Jets and quarterback Aaron Rodgers, the Steelers became an obvious potential destination for 2025. And while that's where he ultimately landed, he reportedly wasn't Pittsburgh's Plan A. ESPN's Adam Schefter recently said the Steelers had two prior choices before settling on Rodgers.
Footballguys view: First, they targeted Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford during the week or so that his status in L.A. was unresolved. Then, Pittsburgh tried to keep quarterback Justin Fields. After Fields opted to sign with the Jets (on a two-year, $40 million deal), the team turned their attention to Rodgers, who will make his debut Tuesday at the Steelers' mandatory minicamp. Still, the Steelers originally hoped it would be someone else: Stafford or Fields. And, as Profootballtalk.com notes, if they hadn't lowballed Fields, they would have had him instead of Rodgers. |

After receiver Stefon Diggs got himself into a bit of controversy, he's been with the team to end the club's offseason program -- including at minicamp this week. Head coach Mike Vrabel was asked about Diggs and how he's done in the building on Monday. "Good. I mean, he's tried to figure out where everything is and what his role is, making sure that as we add those situations -- the third down, the no-huddle, the red zone -- that he's staying up on it," Vrabel said in his press conference. "He's working hard in his rehab, and when he can -- there's certain drills he can be out there and certain drills he won't be. But I think he's engaged, and I like his energy."
Footballguys view: As Profootballtalk.com suggests, that's about all the Patriots can ask for as Diggs continues to rehab from a torn ACL suffered midway through the 2024 season. In eight games for Houston last year, Diggs caught 47 passes for 496 yards with three touchdowns. A healthy Diggs would likely be the top receiving asset in New England. He's being drafted as WR43 in early drafts. |

Miami Dolphins RB Jaylen Wright told reporters on Monday, June 9, that he added six pounds to his frame and 'lost a lot of body fat' while gaining 'a lot of muscle' this offseason after dedicating himself to getting in and staying in shape.'Just working hard in the offseason, working on my body. I probably added about six pounds. I lost a lot of body fat. I gained a lot of muscle. That's why it might look like I'm a little bigger, but yeah, just offseason, working hard, focusing on my body, getting prepared for the season,' Wright said.

Green Bay Packers C Elgton Jenkins reported to mandatory minicamp Monday, June 9, after skipping voluntary minicamp. He's unlikely to practice, though.
Link to storyGreen Bay Packers CB Jaire Alexander was released Monday, June 9.
Footballguys view: The Packers have tried to trade Alexander this offseason, and they've also tried to work out a revised contract, but those efforts have been unsuccessful. Talent isn't the concern with the 28-year-old corner. When healthy, the 2018 first-round pick is one of the best cover men in the NFL. Instead, Alexander is on his way out after missing 34 games over the last four seasons. The timing of the release coincides with the Packers' opening of mandatory minicamp on Tuesday. The Bills were among the teams discussing a possible trade, and they could pursue Alexander as a free agent. |

Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson participated in only one of the voluntary workouts this offseason, but head coach John Harbaugh said Jackson looked good in that workout and is not bothered by the absences.
Footballguys view: Given the voluntary nature of the workouts, there's not much Harbaugh and the Ravens can say -- at least nothing they didn't account for with his last contract. Jackson's 2023 deal includes separate $750,000 workout bonuses in 2024, 2025, 2026, and 2027. To get the money, he has to show up for at least 80 percent of the workouts. Like he has this year, Jackson also passed on that bonus last year. Nonetheless, he finished as QB1 overall with an average of 25.1 points per game. So, nobody should get too worked up about this year's absences. |

Seattle Seahawks WR Jaxon Smith-Njigba will still spend time in the slot, but he will move to the outside in important situations, according to Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic.
Footballguys view: The addition of Cooper Kupp will allow Smith-Njigba to transition from the role he often played last year to more of a classic X. But as Fansided.com reminded readers, those positions are fungible. In two-tight end sets, which the Seahawks may employ often, either Smith-Njigba or Kupp could set up outside and off the line. When a deep threat like Marquez Valdes-Scantling or Tory Horton comes on the field, either Kupp or Smith-Njigba can shift inside to the slot. Remember, Smith-Njigba finished as WR10 last year. He's being drafted as WR15 this year. |
Jaxon Smith-Njigba player page
Seattle Seahawks WR Cooper Kupp has been lining up 'pretty much everywhere' during OTAs, according to Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic, but Dugar believes Kupp will be used mainly on short-to-intermediate routes this season.
Footballguys view: The big issue for Kupp is staying on the field. He's only played in 33 games over the three seasons, but his production has remained excellent. Projected over 17 games, Kupp is still producing at a 100-catch, 1,000-yard rate per year. If he can come close to that in Klint Kubiak's offense this year, Seattle's offense will be dynamic. As Fansided.com notes, along with Jaxon Smith-Njigba, the Hawks will have two savvy, accomplished route runners who can line up anywhere. For fantasy investors, Kupp is being drafted as WR45 this year -- which aligns with his WR42 Footballguys Projection. |

Free-agent WR Gabe Davis (Jaguars) is scheduled to visit with the New Orleans Saints.
Footballguys view: Davis, 26, spent last year with the Jaguars but was released in May with a failed physical designation. He tore the meniscus in his left knee last November. In 10 games in 2024, Davis caught 20 passes for 239 yards with two touchdowns. Davis has reportedly recently met with the Giants, 49ers, and Steelers. |

Sources tell NFL Network's Ian Rapoport that Browns free-agent RB Nick Chubb, one of the most decorated players available, is expected to sign with the Texans on Monday if all goes well with his physical.
Footballguys view: The Texans have Joe Mixon, Dameon Pierce, Woody Marks, and Dare Ogunbowale at the top of their depth chart at the position. Both Mixon and Pierce missed time with injuries last season. Chubb, 29, has played only 10 games the past two seasons. A horrific knee injury in Week 2 of the 2023 season kept him out until Week 7 of the 2024 season. Chubb played eight games last season before breaking his foot. We'll follow up when an official move is made, but this will put a damper on Mixon's Footballguys RB15 projection. |

Buffalo Bills WR Joshua Palmer (undisclosed) was limited to individual drills during practice Tuesday, June 3.

In addition to the Dallas Cowboys, Baltimore Ravens WR Rashod Bateman received trade interest from the Green Bay Packers and New England Patriots earlier this offseason before he signed a three-year, $36.75 million contract extension with the Ravens.
Footballguys view: All three teams were in the market for a classic "X" receiver who can win against NFL cornerbacks outside of the numbers. The Cowboys traded for George Pickens, the Patriots signed Stefon Diggs, and the Packers took Matthew Golden in the first round. Bateman's contract is about the same as the one the Bills gave Joshua Palmer, so this could be a bargain if Bateman plays the way he did last year and stays healthy. |

Tennessee Titans WR Van Jefferson has 'looked good' during OTAs, according to Jim Wyatt of TennesseeTitans.com.
Footballguys view: We would normally assume a journeyman like Jefferson has little chance to make an impact, but his main competition to start outside opposite Calvin Ridley is Tyler Lockett and two fourth round picks. Maybe the bottom line here is that Cam Ward isn't going to have the most impressive set of weapons in his rookie year. |
Van Jefferson player page
Tennessee Titans WR Xavier Restrepo has shown 'great chemistry' with QB Cam Ward during OTAs, according to Jim Wyatt of TennesseeTitans.com.
Footballguys view: Restrepo had a breakout year when Ward came to the University of Miami last year, so it makes a lot of sense that they would have instant chemistry as Titan teammates even though he went undrafted. Fourth round picks Elic Ayomanor and Chimere Dike have also drawn praise in OTAs. They'll compete for playing time with free agent additions Tyler Lockett and Van Jefferson, although Restrepo is probably limited to the slot because of his lack of straight line speed. Treylon Burks is coming back from an ACL tear and might not figure into the depth chart at the open of the season. |
Free-agent RB Nick Chubb (Browns) is receiving interest from the Houston Texans, and Chubb is believed to be interested in joining the team, according to ESPN.com's Jeremy Fowler.

New England Patriots QB Drake Maye has done a good job picking up the offense and has shown solid development this offseason, according to offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels. 'He's doing really well. He's very smart. Works really hard,' McDaniels said. 'He's doing a really good job of digesting the information, processing the corrections when there is a correction to be made, and going out there with a great attitude and mindset the next day.'
Footballguys view: McDaniels offense is going to be challenging, but it should unlock more of Maye's value than Alex Van Pelt's did last year. The team also added TreVeyon Henderson and Kyle Williams in the draft and Stefon Diggs in free agency to bolster the passing game, and drafted Will Campbell at #4 to improve the line. Maye already had fantasy value in a poor offense, he could be one of the breakout quarterbacks of the year in fantasy league with better surroundings. |
New York Jets WR Garrett Wilson said that he and the team's other wide receivers may have different responsibilities this season, even though Shawn Jefferson is still serving as the receivers coach. For example, Wilson said there will be offensive plays designed where he will seek out a safety and block him.
Footballguys view: This isn't a surprise with a running quarterback in Justin Fields at the helm. Wilson is still set up for a bounce back year in a reunion with his college quarterback. Fields isn't known for his passing, but he did zero in on DJ Moore enough for Moore to have a career year in their last campaign together in Chicago. Wilson's ADP has fallen a round and a half from his late first value last year, but he won't have to compete with Davante Adams for targets, and won't have a quarterback in Aaron Rodgers that he didn't riff with last year. |
Buffalo Bills TE Dalton Kincaid (knees) played through injuries to both knees during the 2024 season. He dealt with a posterior cruciate ligament injury to his left knee and a Morel-Lavallee lesion, which resulted in bursitis, in his right knee.
Footballguys view: Kincaid missed time last year after initially suffering at least one of the injuries in Week 10. His performance did drop off after the injury and in the playoffs, but he was only TE16 in PPR leagues before Week 10. Kincaid is currently TE14 in our Footballguys consensus ADP, so it doesn't seem like the fantasy football hive mind is buying into a breakout year for him. |

Buffalo Bills RB James Cook is at a stalemate with the team in terms of a new contract, and it's unclear whether he will be present at mandatory minicamp, according to sources Saturday, June 7.
Footballguys view: Next week, we'll all be checking the attendance in Buffalo to see if Cook shows up for mandatory work. Cook can be fined over $100,000 if he does not report for mandatory minicamp. Deals get done at deadlines, and we feel something does get done before the start of the regular season. Right now, things may seem dire but it can all be smoothed over with a new contract that is mutually beneficial. Cook said a few months ago that he wants $15 million per year, but he's on the books to make $5.7 million in 2024. Stay tuned. |
Free-agent WR Gabe Davis (knee) is still recovering from the torn meniscus he suffered during the 2024 NFL season, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Davis recently met with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Footballguys view: Davis did little with the Jaguars last year, catching 20 passes for 239 yards over ten games. Now, he's waiting for a team to sign him this year. The Giants, 49ers, and Steelers have shown interest. In Pittsburgh, Davis would be a downfield target opposite DK Metcalf for QB Aaron Rodgers. Deals get done at deadlines, but with mandatory minicamp here it seems like Davis may have to wait a little longer. |
Gabe Davis player page
Tennessee Titans QB Cam Ward likely will open the 2025 regular season as the starting quarterback, in the opinion of TennesseeTitans.com's Jim Wyatt.
Footballguys view: Zero surprise here. Ward was selected as the no.1 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, and he's got the skill set to be a franchise quarterback one day. Now, Ward has work to do but the tools are there. Ward has a big arm, and he can make throws from different arm angles. He also can take off to run and be a threat to flip the field as a runner. Ward has a big test in Week 1 as the Titans take on what could be the best defense in the league; the Denver Broncos. Welcome to the NFL! |
Washington Commanders WR Noah Brown was one of the standout performers during practices this week with several impressive catches, in the opinion of Commanders.com's Zach Selby.
Footballguys view: Brown is an impressive player, and the veteran signed a one-year deal to remain with the Commanders this offseason. In 11 games last year, Brown posted 35 catches for 453 yards and one touchdown. Those numbers may go down this year with the addition of WR Deebo Samuel. Fantasy GMs are not looking at Brown, but the Commanders know when healthy he can contribute on offense. |

Denver Broncos TE Evan Engram has show 'real good instincts' during OTAs, according to head coach Sean Payton.
Footballguys view: Payton has been looking for his 'joker' on offense, and that's why the team went out and got Engram this offseason. Engram's season was cut short last year, but if healthy he's in line to catch 65-70 passes from Bo Nix. His touchdowns won't push him to the top of the tight end pack, but low-end TE1 production is there for Engram in 2025. |
Evan Engram player page
Chicago Bears WR Rome Odunze said he focused on becoming stronger this offseason, and his goals are to catch double-digit touchdowns and top 1,000 receiving yards.
Footballguys view: We're much more excited about the Bears' passing attack this season with HC Ben Johnson. Odunze should become one of the favorite targets for QB Caleb Williams, and we see flex appeal if the second-year pros take to this system. |
Los Angeles Chargers WR Tre Harris has worked periodically with the first-team offense during OTAs, and wide receivers coach Sanjay Lal said Harris is being brought along slowly while he acclimates to the NFL game.
Footballguys view: Harris has good speed and he knows how to use his frame to box out defenders. The slant is his go-to route, and the Chargers are likely drawing up more for the rookie receiver. It takes time for most receivers to get up to speed in the NFL, but we are monitoring Harris with great interest. |
Los Angeles Chargers WR Quentin Johnston has been working with the starters during OTAs, and wide receivers coach Sanjay Lal said he expects Johnston to keep improving. 'He's a starter, because he is,' Lal said.
Footballguys view: We'll see a battle between Johnston and Mike Williams this offseason to be the Chargers no.2 receiver. Johnston has flashed during his pro career, and there's flex appeal if he wins the job and plays up to his potential in 2025. |
Quentin Johnston player page
New York Giants RB Devin Singletary likely will be the leading candidate for the No. 2 running back job, but RB Cam Skattebo has a chance to earn the role if he performs well during training camp and the preseason, in the opinion of SNY's Alex Smith.
Footballguys view: Singletary has the veteran experience behind Tyrone Tracy, but Skattebo is a different type of runner. The rookie from Arizona State is bulky and can live between the tackles as a power back. In addition to what he can do as a runner, Skattebo has good hands and can be relied on in pass protection. A third-down role and short-yardage role might be what Skattebo earns in training camp and the preseason. The size of that role will determine the impact it has on Tracy's fantasy value. |
Detroit Lions QB Jared Goff said offensive coordinator John Morton is keeping some things that the offensive has done in the past but is also adding some new things to the offensive scheme.
Footballguys view: Taking over for new Bears HC Ben Johnson, Morton said the team's offense will remain "predicated" on Goff. Morton has only called plays one season in the NFL (2017, Jets) and was fired after that. Goff has been incredibly productive under Johnson, so Morton had better keep his foot on the gas in 2025. New wrinkles are great, but this offense is a sports car with a ton of expectations. |

Baltimore Ravens TE Isaiah Likely is a player the Ravens could target for an extension, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
Footballguys view: Likely is the tight end of the future in Baltimore, and the future looks bright with his upside and potential. Just about a week ago, Ravens HC John Harbaugh said "I want to see (Isaiah Likely) be an All-Pro" in 2025. That means Likely be working to get out of the shadow of Mark Andrews this year. That also means it would be wise for the Ravens to take care of business with Likely before his production skyrockets (as well as his price tag). |
Buffalo Bills offensive coordinator Joe Brady said he is excited that the team signed WR Joshua Palmer this offseason because of his intelligence and ability to play both outside receiver and in the slot.
Footballguys view: Palmer should be an outside threat for the Bills, and that means downfield targets from QB Josh Allen. He is basically a replacement for Mack Hollins in Brady's offense. Palmer is a player who won't get drafted, but keep him on your waiver wire speed dial because if he hits then there's 'what the heck flex' appeal in this system. |
Joshua Palmer player page
Free-agent RB J.K. Dobbins (Chargers) had a positive meeting with the Denver Broncos, but the two sides are not close to a contract at this point, according to a source.
Footballguys view: Dobbins gets interest from the Broncos, and they could circle back come training camp. Right now, Dobbins has few suitors but that could change with an injury. The Broncos like him at a certain price for the time being, and they didn't feel the urgency to make something happen before next week's mandatory minicamp. Right now, rookie RJ Harvey should be the lead for the Broncos with someone like Audric Estime or Jaleel McLaughlin (or Tyler Badie) as the top reserve back. Sean Payton wants to use a two-back system, and right now we don't know who that second player is. |
J.K. Dobbins player page
Chicago Bears WR Rome Odunze said he will be participating in the offseason workouts next week with the team. The Bears are planning to have the young players participate in the workouts.
Footballguys view: Bears HC Ben Johnson has been extremely impressed with Odunze this offseason in terms of preparation. Fantasy GMs are excited to see what more the second-year player can do this season. We like him as a deep flex option with WR3/flex upside as the Bears offense should look much better under Johnson's guidance. |
Free-agent WR Chris Conley (49ers) has decided to retire from professional football.
Link to storyChris Conley player page
New York Jets RB Isaiah Davis averaged 5.8 yards per carry during the 2024 season on 30 carries and recorded eight runs of at least 10 yards during the season.
Footballguys view: Davis is a player we've stashed in deep dynasty leagues. The Jets no.3 back behind Breece Hall and Braelon Allen, Davis is a grinder who is tough to bring down when he builds a head of steam. While not a big-play threat, Davis can consistently be someone who picks up positive yardage in a reserve role. We'd be curious (and excited) to see what he could do if ever tasked with a larger responsibility. Thus, Davis remains a deep dynasty darling. |
Green Bay Packers WR Romeo Doubs said he has recovered from the concussion he suffered during the 2024 playoffs but said that the recovery was a long process.
Footballguys view: Doubs left Green Bay's Wild Card round game against the Eagles and did not return. Earlier in the 2024 season, Doubs had to miss a couple of weeks due to a concussion as well. It's good that he's recovered, but Fantasy GMs are hoping this is not a recurring problem. Doubs is a deep flex play for Fantasy GMs this season. |
Denver Broncos TE Cole Fotheringham (undisclosed) was released from the Reserve/Injured list Thursday, June 5, after the two sides reached an injury settlement.
Link to storyUpdating a previous report, free-agent QB Aaron Rodgers (Jets) is officially signing his one-year contract with the Pittsburgh Steelers Saturday, June 7.
Footballguys view: The one-year, $13.65 million deal includes $10 million in guaranteed money and $5.85 million in playing time and team performance incentives. That brings the potential total value to $19.5 million. Rodgers and the Steelers were flirting with each other the entire offseason. Now, the deal is done and Rodgers will be there for mandatory minicamp. In Arthur Smith's run-heavy, play-action system Rodgers should be able to be a solid starter for the Steelers as they push for the postseason. |

Cleveland Browns WR David Bell (hip) has not been participating in practice this offseason because he is still recovering from the hip injury he suffered during the 2024 season.
Link to storyCleveland Browns WR Cedric Tillman (undisclosed) and WR Michael Woods II (undisclosed) worked on the side during practice Wednesday, June 4, because they are dealing with injuries.
Link to storyPhiladelphia Eagles WR Ife Adeyi was waived Friday, June 6.
Link to storyFormer Jacksonville Jaguars RB Keilan Robinson was claimed off waivers by the Philadelphia Eagles Friday, June 6, according to a source.
Link to storyCarolina Panthers WR Tetairoa McMillan said he has been learning a lot from WRs Adam Thielen and WR Hunter Renfrow during offseason workouts.
Footballguys view: Thielen coming back for one more year should be a good development for McMillan, and 2024 additions Jalen Coker and Xavier Legette even though it complicates the target tree this year. McMillan learning from Thielen and Renfrow could be a sign that the team doesn't plan on only playing him outside even though his size, speed and athleticism make him a natural fit there. Playing big slot would get McMillan better matchups and easier targets, so this is potentially a good thing for his value. |
New York Giants WR Jalin Hyatt has been getting more first-team reps than usual during organized team activities. Additionally, QB Russell Wilson noted that Hyatt is 'a guy that I really believe in' following practice on Thursday, June 5.
Footballguys view: Hyatt has deep speed and a good game at the catch point, but is seen as a one-dimensional receiver with a similar skillset to Darius Slayton, who the team re-signed to a three-year, $36 million deal. Hyatt isn't going to have significant value this year, but his abilities do match up well with Russell Wilson's moonballs. |

Atlanta Falcons TE Kyle Pitts was reportedly the subject of a phone call between the Falcons and Pittsburgh Steelers recently, according to NFL Media's Ian Rapoport.
Footballguys view: It sounds like teams are interested in acquiring Pitts, but only on the cheap, which the Falcons reportedly are not willing to do. Pitts value is still at rock bottom in both redraft and dynasty, and a trade to the Steelers wouldn't be good for his fantasy prospects. We'll see if any other former Arthur Smith players are the subject of trade speculation for the Steelers this summer as they try to bolster the passing game for new quarterback Aaron Rodgers. |

Tennessee Titans fourth-round draft choice WR Chimere Dike (Florida) signed his four-year rookie contract on Friday, June 6. Financial terms of the deal were not immediately disclosed.
Footballguys view: Dike and fellow fourth round pick Elic Ayomanor both drew positive reviews in OTAs. Their main competition for playing time is veteran Tyler Lockett, who was signed to a one-year, $4 million deal. It wouldn't be surprising to see one or both of them play ahead of Lockett by the end of the season. Dike's speed should be a welcome addition to the wide receiver room. |
New York Giants QB Russell Wilson 'definitely is the leader' of the quarterback room, according to WR Wan'Dale Robinson via ESPN.com's Jordan Raanan.
