Detroit Lions TE Brock Wright (neck) did not participate in practice Monday, Nov. 24. The Lions did not hold a practice Monday, so this is an estimation.
Footballguys view: As Pro Football Focus noted, the Lions elevated tight end Anthony Firkser from the practice squad before Sunday's win and ended up playing one more snap than Ross Dwelley, making him their second tight end. It's possible Firkser would be the Lions' primary tight end if Wright's injury keeps him from playing Thursday.

Free-agent RB Dameon Pierce (Texans) was signed to the Kansas City Chiefs practice squad Monday, Nov. 24. The team also released WR Jimmy Holiday from the practice squad.
Footballguys view: As a rookie, Piece had over 1,000 total yards in 13 games with Houston, but he struggled to find playing time over the last three seasons. He joins the Chiefs as running back Isiah Pacheco has missed three consecutive games due to an MCL sprain. On Sunday, veteran Kareem Hunt had 30 carries for 104 yards, giving the Chiefs their first 100-yard rusher of the season. Five carries also went to Clyde Edwards-Helaire, who has been elevated from the practice squad for two of the past three games. Elijah Mitchell has been unable to crack the active game-day roster.
Washington Commanders WR Terry McLaurin (quadriceps) participated in practice Monday, Nov. 24.
Footballguys view: As CBSSports.com noted, Monday's practice represents McLaurin's first time handling on-field reps since aggravating his quad injury in Week 8. McLaurin will likely be cleared to retake the field against the Broncos on Sunday -- assuming he's able to ramp up his activity at practice throughout the week while avoiding any setbacks. We'll monitor as the week progresses.

Dallas Cowboys OT Tyler Guyton (ankle) has been diagnosed with a high ankle sprain and is not expected to be available for the Week 13 game, according to sources.
Link to storyCincinnati Bengals QB Sean Clifford was waived Monday, Nov. 24.
Footballguys view: Clifford's departure clears the way for Joe Burrow to join the 53-man roster. Burrow is on track to start against the Ravens Thursday night, although head coach Zac Taylor stopped short of announcing it. Still, Clifford's release is another step in that direction.
Philadelphia Eagles S Andrew Mukuba (ankle) suffered a fractured ankle during the Week 12 game and is scheduled to undergo surgery to repair the injury. It is not known if he will be able to play again this season.
Footballguys view: Mukuba has appeared in all 11 games this season, and he's started 10 of them. He had three tackles against Dallas and has 46 tackles, two interceptions, and a half-sack on the season. As Profootballtalk.com noted, Reed Blankenship and Sydney Brown are the other safeties on the 53-man roster in Philadelphia. Blankenship injured his thigh against the Cowboys, and his outlook for Friday's game against the Bears is unclear at present.
The Raiders have named their new offensive play-caller. Head coach Pete Carroll announced on Monday that quarterbacks coach Greg Olson will take on the role for the rest of the season.
Footballguys view: The Raiders fired offensive coordinator Chip Kelly after Sunday's 24-10 loss to the Browns. This will not be Olson's first stint calling the offensive plays for the Raiders. He was the team's offensive coordinator in 2013 and 2014 and had another run in that job from 2018 to 2021. He's also been a coordinator with the Lions, Rams, Buccaneers, and Jaguars at points over the last two decades. The Raiders rank 31st in the league in points scored, so there's work to do here.
Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud's status hasn't changed since last week. Head coach DeMeco Ryans told reporters on Monday that Stroud remains in the concussion protocol. Stroud was injured in the team's Week 9 loss to the Broncos and has missed the last three games.
Footballguys view: Davis Mills has started all three of those games for Houston and the Texans have won all three to push themselves back into the playoff picture in the AFC. Ryans said that Stroud will return to the starting lineup if he clears the protocol ahead of the team's Week 13 game against the Colts. The next update on Stroud's progress will come with Wednesday's practice. That will also be the case for safety Jalen Pitre, as he also remains in the concussion protocol to kick off the week.

Indianapolis Colts WR Ashton Dulin (hamstring) is expected to miss at least a week because of a hamstring injury, according to head coach Shane Steichen.
Footballguys view: Dulin is behind Michael Pittman Jr., Alec Pierce, and Josh Downs on the depth chart, but sees playing time each week and provides a steady presence at the receiver position in the run game. He's caught 5-of-8 passes this season for 106 yards, including a 48-yard reception on Sunday against Kansas City. Without Dulin, Laquon Treadwell is the next man up at wide receiver on the 53-man roster. On the practice squad at wideout are rookies Coleman Own and Eli Pancol.

Washington Commanders WR Noah Brown (groin, knee) had his 21-day practice window opened Monday, Nov. 24.
Footballguys view: Brown has played in two games this season and recorded three catches for 36 yards. He last played in Week 2 against the Packers before sustaining the groin injury that kept him sidelined up to this point. He was placed on IR on Oct. 15. Brown can be activated at any point during his 21-day window. If Brown were to reach the end of this period, the Commanders would need to decide whether to activate him or return him to IR for the rest of the season.

Jayden Daniels will return to practice this week, but sources tell ESPN's Adam Schefter it is considered "unlikely" that he plays Sunday night against the Broncos.
Footballguys view: According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Daniels, who was evaluated coming out of Washington's bye, is "a long shot" to play Sunday night. Still, it's progress in his return from a dislocated left elbow. Marcus Mariota will continue to start until Daniels is cleared to play.

Bengals head coach Zac Taylor told reporters that receiver Tee Higgins will be among several players missing the team's Thanksgiving night game against the Baltimore Ravens at M&T Bank Stadium.
Footballguys view: DE Trey Hendrickson and RB Tahj Brooks also will miss the game, according to Taylor. Higgins landed hard on the back of his head while trying to make a catch against the Patriots. He left on a cart and was declared out with a concussion. Taylor was asked how Higgins is doing. "I don't want to speak for him," Taylor said. "It was obviously a tough one. So, that's where we'll land." With Higgins out, Andre Iosivas and Mitch Tinsley move up in the WR rotation. Also, TE Mike Gesicki has stepped up in Higgins' absence in the past.

Cincinnati Bengals coach Zac Taylor said Monday he anticipates quarterback Joe Burrow playing Thursday night against the Baltimore Ravens. "He looks in good shape right now and will be ready to go," Taylor said.
Footballguys view: Taylor stopped short of officially announcing Burrow will play but said the quarterback has done "everything he could" to work his way back from a turf toe injury that has sidelined him since September. Taylor said Burrow will continue to work through the week before he makes an official declaration that the star quarterback will return from his injury. Taylor said that if Burrow starts Thursday night, Joe Flacco will be the backup.

The Vikings may be turning to Max Brosmer at quarterback in Week 13. Head coach Kevin O'Connell announced on Monday that J.J. McCarthy is in the concussion protocol.
Footballguys view: O'Connell said that McCarthy reported having concussion symptoms after Sunday's loss to the Packers in Green Bay. Brosmer will take the first-team reps while McCarthy is working his way through the protocol and will start against the Seahawks if McCarthy is not cleared for the game. The undrafted rookie is 5-of-8 for 42 yards in four appearances this season, but has never started an NFL game. McCarthy, meanwhile, tossed two interceptions against the Packers and has thrown at least one interception in all six of his starts this season, and missed five games with an ankle injury earlier this season.

Shedeur Sanders will start at quarterback in Sunday's game against the San Francisco 49ers, Cleveland Browns coach Kevin Stefanski announced Monday.
Footballguys view: Sanders will remain the starter even though Dillon Gabriel has cleared the concussion protocol, Stefanski said. With Gabriel sidelined, Sanders completed 11 of 20 passes for 209 yards with one touchdown and an interception in the Browns' 24-10 victory over the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday in his first NFL start. The victory ended a 17-game losing streak for the Browns in games with a quarterback making his first career start. That was the longest streak by any franchise since 1950, when QB starts were first recorded.
Todd Bowles said RB Bucky Irving is going to practice all week, and if he's fine on Friday, he will play on Sunday against the Cardinals.
Footballguys view: Bowles said the same in ruling Irving out for Week 12 last Friday. Irving, who has not played since Week 4 vs. the Eagles due to shoulder and foot injuries, reportedly looked strong at practice last week and might have been able to play against the Rams, but the team decided to hold him out, give him one more week, and have him return next Sunday.

Pre-MRI, the Buccaneers believe Baker Mayfield suffered a sprained AC joint in his left shoulder, sources tell ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Footballguys view: There was no fracture and no structural damage. One source told Schefter the Buccaneers "are not ruling out" Mayfield for Sunday's game against the Cardinals. But today's MRI will tell more. We'll have more when that information is available.

TE Darren Waller (pectoral; injured reserve) will have his 21-day practice window opened on Wednesday, head coach Mike McDaniel told reporters Monday.
Footballguys view: Despite missing the past four games, Waller is tied for second on the team with four touchdown receptions. Only Jaylen Waddle, with five, has more. We'll be monitoring his progress in coming days.

Kansas City Chiefs OG Trey Smith (ankle) is dealing with a high-ankle sprain and a low-ankle sprain. He's likely out for Week 13 and could be out longer.
Link to storyNew England Patriots OG Jared Wilson (ankle) suffered a high-ankle sprain in Week 12 and could miss four to six weeks.
Link to storyFree-agent PK Justin Tucker (Ravens) will work out for the New Orleans Saints Monday, Nov. 24.
Footballguys view: Tucker was reinstated 13 days ago, after serving a 10-game suspension under the Personal Conduct Policy. Some believed Tucker's off-field baggage, coupled with a lackluster 2024 season with the Ravens (73.3-percent field-goal conversion rate), would make it more difficult for him to get a shot. Current Saints kicker Blake Grupe has missed eight of 26 field goals this season. On Sunday against the Falcons, Grupe missed a 38-yard field goal and a 47-yard field goal.

Updating previous reports, New England Patriots OT Will Campbell (knee) could land on the Reserve/Injured list with a sprained medial collateral ligament, as head coach Mike Vrabel said he expects him to be out more than a week or two.
Footballguys view: Coach Mike Vrabel told reporters that a roster decision (IR or not) is coming, but "It's (hopefully) nothing that's gonna put him out for the entire season." The hope in New England seems to be, even if he goes on IR, that Campbell would return in four weeks, when it counts the most.
New York Giants defensive coordinator Shane Bowen was fired Monday, Nov. 24. Outside linebackers coach Charlie Bullen will serve as interim DC.
Footballguys view: The move came after New York (2-10) blew a 10-point fourth-quarter lead to the Lions in a 34-27 loss that was capped by a 69-yard touchdown run by the Lions' Jahmyr Gibbs on the first play of overtime. Sunday's loss was the fifth time this season that Bowen's defense allowed at least a 10-point lead to slip away, tying an NFL record. The defense was expected to be the strength of the team entering the season, especially with so much invested in the team's defensive line. But instead of a strength, it was a weakness with Bowen calling the shots.
Dallas Cowboys WR KaVontae Turpin had one reception for 48 yards against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 12. He also ran twice for four yards and lost a fumble.

The reeling Las Vegas Raiders fired offensive coordinator Chip Kelly on Sunday, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter, making the move just 10 games into his first season with the organization.
Footballguys view: Kelly's firing came after Sunday's 24-10 loss to the Browns, which dropped the Raiders to 2-9 on the season. It's the second shakeup to the staff of first-year coach Pete Carroll this season. The Raiders fired special teams coordinator Tom McMahon on Nov. 7. The Raiders traded for Geno Smith, drafted Ashton Jeanty in the first round, had Brock Bowers returning, made Kelly the NFL's highest-paid coordinator, and their offense has struggled. They have scored fewer than 10 points in four games -- the most in the NFL. We'll have more on this situation when the team announces a replacement.
Jacksonville Jaguars WR Tim Patrick was targeted four times but did not record a catch in Week 12 against the Arizona Cardinals.

Buccaneers quarterback Baker Mayfield did not play the second half of Sunday night's loss to the Rams with a left shoulder injury. Head coach Todd Bowles had a minor update on Mayfield in his postgame press conference. "Right now he has a shoulder sprain," Bowles said. "He'll get an MRI tomorrow."
Footballguys view: Backup quarterback Teddy Bridgewater came in and played the second half in relief of Mayfield. He threw his first regular-season passes since the 2022 season. If Mayfield is sidelined for a while, Bowles feels comfortable with Bridgewater behind center. "Very confident in what Teddy can do with a full week of practice," Bowles said, "Taking every snap and every play. We think he'll be fine." The Buccaneers host the Cardinals on Sunday in Week 13.
