Link to storyNew York Jets RB Isaiah Davis (ankle) may be a candidate to start the season on the Reserve/Injured list because he is dealing with an ankle injury, in the opinion of ESPN.com's Rich Cimini.
Footballguys view: Davis has talent as a developmental player. This ankle injury could put him on IR where he could take the time to get healthy. Keep an eye on him in deeper dynasty leagues. |
Washington Commanders RB Chris Rodriguez Jr. rushed for 34 yards on five carries during the preseason game against the Baltimore Ravens Saturday, Aug. 23.
Footballguys view: Rodriguez is going to bring the power to the Commanders' backfield in 2025. Jacory Croskey-Merritt and Austin Ekeler have plenty of speed and quickness, but neither are the hammer that Rodriguez is. He could vulture some rushing touchdowns this season. |
Dallas Cowboys WR Jonathan Mingo (knee) will likely start the season on the Reserve/Injured list because of his knee injury.
Footballguys view: Mingo was competing for a depth chart position (fourth or fifth) in the Cowboys WR room. He's big and fast, but he needs to get healthy to earn playing time when he's ready in the regular season. |

Dallas Cowboys RB Jaydon Blue (ankle) sustained a sprained right ankle during the preseason game versus the Atlanta Falcons Friday, Aug. 22.
Footballguys view: An ankle injury bothered Blue this training camp. He got some preseason action, his first of the year, against the Falcons this weekend. It seems like the ankle injury popped up again. The Cowboys have a pretty 'meh' backfield, so an exciting player like Blue could earn an opportunity. |
New York Giants CB TJ Moore (femur) underwent successful surgery Friday, Aug. 22, to repair a fractured femur, according to a source. He had sustained the injury in the preseason game versus the New England Patriots Thursday, Aug. 21.
Link to storyPhiladelphia Eagles QB Tanner McKee (finger) was held out of the team's preseason game versus the New York Jets Friday, Aug. 22, due to an injured finger on his throwing hand. His availability for Week 1's game versus the Dallas Cowboys is uncertain, according to head coach Nick Sirianni.
Footballguys view: The primary backup to Jalen Hurts, McKee didn't need reps in the final preseason game. Reporters around the Eagles believe McKee could be a future starter in the NFL someday, and that hits our radar in deep dynasty leagues. |

Green Bay Packers WR Romeo Doubs will be on the team's 53-man roster, despite rumors that he would be cut before the season opener, according to head coach Matt LaFleur.
Footballguys view: Doubs is a player who can make plays for the Packers and your fantasy team. Consider him a flex play in the Packers offense which spreads things around the field. |
Dallas Cowboys CB Trevon Diggs (knee) remains uncertain if he will be able to play in the season opener versus the Philadelphia Eagles Sept. 4. He is currently on the Physically Unable to Perform list and has not resumed practicing, although he has ramped up his rehab work recently. If Diggs remains on the PUP list at the beginning of the season, he would have to miss at least the first four games.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers TE Cade Otton is entering the final season of his current deal and said that he would be interested in a contract extension. However, it appears uncertain if the organization has mutual interest in bringing him back for 2026 and beyond.
Footballguys view: We'll see what Otton can do this season, especially with WR Chris Godwin banged up. With Godwin out of action for the start of the regular season, QB Baker Mayfield could be leaning more on guys like Otton and rookie WR Emeka Egbuka. |
Updating a previous report, Atlanta Falcons head coach Raheem Morris said that OG Kaleb McGary (leg) will miss 'significant time' and could be placed on the Reserve/Injured list, as a result of an injury sustained during practice Wednesday, Aug. 20. He was carted off the field and appeared to be favoring his left leg prior to the team's 11-on-11 drills.

Link to storyChicago Bears RB Kyle Monangai has performed well during training camp and has a chance to earn a sizeable role behind RB D'Andre Swift, in the opinion of ESPN.com's Courtney Cronin.
Link to storyUpdating previous reports, Pittsburgh Steelers DE Derrick Harmon (knee) has been diagnosed with a sprained medial collateral ligament and is expected to be sidelined for around a month, according to sources. He could be a candidate to start the season on the Reserve/Injured list.
Link to storyNew Orleans Saints RB Devin Neal (hamstring) has a good chance to make the 53-man roster even though he is dealing with a hamstring injury, in the opinion of ESPN.com's Katherine Terrell.
Link to storyGreen Bay Packers WR Jayden Reed (foot) did not participate in practice Thursday, Aug. 21, and is still walking around with a slight limp.
Footballguys view: Reed hasn't practiced since July 31. He has at least shed his walking boot last week and he's catching passes after practice, but it's reasonable to think that he might not be himself in the early season games. He also carries a risk of reinjury or diminished ability if he has to nurse the injury all season. First round pick Matthew Golden has had a great summer, and he should be the first Packer receiver taken in redraft leagues. |

Los Angeles Chargers WR Quentin Johnston (concussion) is in concussion protocol, according to ESPN.com's Kris Rhim. Head coach Jim Harbaugh had no update on his status for Week 1.
Footballguys view: Johnston has two weeks to recover before the season opener against the Chiefs. If he's not ready for the game - which is on a Friday in Brazil - then Keenan Allen could be on the field enough to consider playing in deep PPR leagues. |

Carolina Panthers TE Tommy Tremble (back) was activated off the Physically Unable to Perform list on Thursday, Aug. 21, following back surgery in May. The team announced he will not play in their preseason finale against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Footballguys view: This makes the window for Ja'Tavion Sanders to start the season hot while Tremble is on the mend smaller, but early season matchups against Jacksonville, Arizona, and Atlanta are very promising. Sanders should still be on your waiver wire watch list, especially if Adam Thielen gets dealt to Minnesota. |

Dallas Cowboys RB Jaydon Blue (ankle) is expected to play in the final preseason game.
Footballguys view: Blue has shown the burst and acceleration that got him drafted, but an injury slowed his momentum. No one has emerged in the Cowboys backfield and none are advisable plays against the Eagles in a tough season opener. It's not even clear if any of them are going to be worth a fantasy roster spot in Week 2. |
Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Jaden Smith was waived Friday, Aug. 22.
Link to storyPittsburgh Steelers QB Will Howard (finger) could be a candidate to start the season on the Reserve/Injured list, in the opinion of ESPN.com's Brooke Pryor.
Link to storyIndianapolis Colts RB DJ Giddens is expected to play a role in the team's passing game to complement Jonathan Taylor, according to ESPN's Stephen Holder. Per Holder, Taylor is not seen as a strong pass catcher, so this is a role designed for Giddens.
Footballguys view: Taylor was never supposed to be a big contributor in the passing game, so this doesn't really change his outlook, but it does give Giddens a bigger crack in the door to increase his dynasty value while Taylor is still the workhorse in the running game. Giddens should also be the injury upside backup to Taylor, so he's on our late round radar and waiver wire watch list. |
Miami Dolphins RB Ollie Gordon II could challenge Jaylen Wright for the team's RB2 role, according to ESPN's Marcel Louis-Jacques.
Footballguys view: Gordon has had as good a summer as Wright's has been bad, culminating with Wright getting hurt this week. The Dolphins should be in the market for a running back with De'Von Achane also hurt and Alexander Mattison going down for the season earlier in camp. If you're going to take a Dolphins back late right now, it's Gordon, but that's subject to change. |
